I'm more accustomed to suburban or more remote highway interchange locations with free coffee and occasional treats in the lobby. But I now understand that, when offered in a location such as this, people just come in off the street and help themselves.

We loved the location and convenience of parking, eating places and Signature theater which was one of our stops for a great play.

Great location and good customer service. Definitely appreciate the location.

Service, front desk and breakfast. Great all around.

Our mini fridge was broken, the shower door kept sliding open, and the manager was always unavailable to talk to us. The pool is only open for a few hours on weekday afternoons.

It was close to where I needed to be. For the $, it wasn’t “all that and a bag of chips”.

Clean. Convenient. Town has many close restaurants.

Very clean and spacious! Perfect location for dining, shopping and taking a quiet walk . Courteous staff. Comfortable beds. I would like to have had a complimentary continental breakfast option or at least an al a carte as we didn't want or have time for an all-you-can-eat buffet. At least there were snacks to purchase

Value and sweet accommodations. Orbitz helped us upgrade to a fine hotel at a super location.

We have stayed here multiple times. Always a good experience. Right now they're renovating the pool and lobby, so it's not quite as nice as usual.

Love the free shuttle from the Pentagon City train station! I called when I got there and was told 10-15 minutes and the shuttle arrived in 12 mins. I came to see Titanic at the Signature Theater and it is practically across the street and up a little bit from the hotel so loved that! Loved the cookies in the lobby. All the staff I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. Also loved the adjustable bed!! The carpeting in the room could use an update, there were some stains here and there but not a big deal to me. Bathroom was spotless. The room itself was a very nice size, not like some that I have been to where you barely have room to move between the bed and the TV. I will definitely be back.

i had the most amazing stay. the staff was always willing to help at all hours. will definitely be using the Hilton again on my next vacation

Very clean, the neighboorhood surounding the hotel has a 24 hour grocery store, 20+ restaurants and a movie theater in walking distance. Also free shuttle to and from metro station

The first room we got had a bad smell. They immediately changed our room and our stay was great after that.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. We stayed here while visiting with people who were staying in DC, but this hotel has the very nice perk of free parking, which is nearly impossible in the city itself. I found that getting a shuttle into the city to the closest metro was super easy and they were always willing to pick you up at whatever time you came in. Drivers were friendly--no issues there. When I got there I had been put in a room close to the elevators/ice machine, but I asked if that could be changed and it was, right away. The room was spacious and comfortable. My only gripe was that the shower had really weak water pressure. Not the end of the world. I really like the free coffee/tea at the front entrance. Breakfast wasn't free, but there's a Peet's around the corner, as well as other establishments.

When I booked this hotel, I knew there were restaurants in "walking distance." I didn't realize that it was in a cute little town center with numerous independent restaurants, bars, froyo shops, Harris Teeter (grocery store) and even a public library! Parking is free on the 4th floor of a parking lot across the street. Checking in was painless and quick. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The bed was soft. The refrigerator made a weird knocking sound every hour or so, much it wasn't too annoying. Coffee in the form of k-cups were provided in the rooms and fresh in the main lounge. After eating at 2 separate restaurants in the area and grabbing froyo, my boyfriend said, "You did good [in picking the hotel]."

For a quick business meeting trip, this location was convenient, staff was helpful and expedient, and environment was conducive to productive work.

The hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were spacious and clean and all the staff were very courteous as well. The staff quickly worked with us to secure a new room, after I booked a handicap room by mistake. The location of the hotel is perfect. Tons of stores, shops and restaurants once you step foot outside of the hotel. Overall a great experience and the only drawback from the hotel is a small pool (Real Small) with limited hours of usage and a gym that's not equipped with free weights.

Hilton Garden Inn Shirlington is, in almost every way (I haven't eaten there as there are so many excellent restaurants nearby) an excellent, reasonably priced hotel in a lively setting.
