My coworker stayed here last summer and loved the hotel and highly recommended I visit them during my stay in Italy this Spring. Let me say right now, the staff (especially Silvia and Valentina) are the friendliest, most helpful and professional I have experienced! I booked the hotel’s cooking class and they answered all emails promptly, arranged my pickup at the train station too. But the most fun was cooking with their chef. I was given a choice of two menus. We prepared pici pasta with Anglione sauce, pork filet with red wine and fig sauce, Moieccio, and tiramisu (best I’ve ever had!). The chef and I cooked together, all the while she was giving me tips which I noted on the recipe book I was given. Afterwards I was seated at a beautiful table to dine on my meal with a delicious Syrah. Coffee ended the meal. I just could go on and on about my experience which was one of the best memories of my stay in Tuscany. During the car race weekend, my husband and I popped in to tell them hello and we were treated to a refreshment outdoors where the cars passed. I would definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Cortona, you will be treated like royalty! Steps and escalator to the village are just right there! Virtually 4 minutes to Main Street. Love this place!
A fabulous classic hotel in a beautiful city. A short walk up to the center of this historic town. The room was very comfortable. Breakfasts were sumptuous. The service was immaculate. We stayed for three nights as part of a tour and we would gladly go back again!
Could not have chosen a nicer hotel. Yoanna was the perfect host...always available and friendly. We were upgraded to a suite, spacious and clean. An uphill and brisk walk into the main piazza in Cortona. Restaurant suggestions were excellent. Breakfast was quite a spread with several unusual homemade offerings. Afternoon bits and proseco a treat. Would return to Villa Marsili tomorrow
My musical compatriots and I spent 8 nights at the Villa and didn’t want to leave. I think Marvin and the ladies noticed us lingering around our last go at the impeccably delicious breakfast buffet and offered us an adorable, insulated to-go satchel that we stuffed full of sweet and savory pastries. But enough about breakfast. The staff was incredibly charming and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and cozy. My room was not ready when we arrived and they swiftly put me in a smaller room to catch a few z’s. That small room was so cute I almost wanted to stay in it. If I could I’d give this hotel all the stars in the midnight sky. #dopehospitality
Located a slight distance from the town center down a steep hill. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They serve an extensive European style buffet breakfast of fruits, cheeses, meats, etc. Rooms were clean and well serviced. The rooms and bathrooms were not large, but comparable to other European boutique hotels. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend.
Wow, what a great place! We loved our stay at Hotel Villa Marsili - the staff is outstanding, every request was met with great attention and friendly service. The room are very nice, we had a beautiful suite with tons of room, great view of the valley and wonderful furnishings. Every night they serve snacks that are wonderfully prepared. If you are going to stay in Cortona then you have to stay at Hotel Villa Marsili. Absolutely loved everything about this place.
My wife and I recently toured the lovely Hill Towns of Tuscany with the Villa Marsilli as our base. This area of Italy was as if fashioned from a dream, and the hotel was the perfect place to wake up to in the morning and to return home to each evening. The breakfasts defied the imagination with all of the multitudinous items fashioned by the amazing kitchen staff each night. There were hot items, cold meats, cheeses and fruits, delightful pastries -- every morning without fail, and juices of your choice and coffees made to order. It would be very difficult to single out any one member of the staff in their excellence at their function, simply because they were all so gracious and performed their respective tasks with such concern, friendliness and flair. It was as if you had a new, delightful family and a home away from home from the moment you walked in until the moment you departed. Bravo and Grazie Mille to each and every one of our new friends at the Villa Marsilli!
This was an amazing place to stay. Rated 4 stars and it deserves the rating. The lady that checked us in was an amazing young lady, and she did an excellent job. The rooms are spacious, with private baths. The rooms were extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The morning breakfast which comes with the room was wonderful. A full breakfast to pick and choose from fresh fruit, eggs, coffee pastries and lots of other succulent food. This was a great location. We were able to casually stroll around Cortona from this location. The view was breathtaking from this property. The town was extremely charming. Everything about this facility was fantastic. We loved it and highly recommend it .
We stayed at Villa Marsili last minute and loved our stay. Our room was clean, spacious and had beautiful views of the valley. My only complaint was that the road noise (the hotel is situated on the edge of town along the main road leading into and out of town) made it hard to enjoy having the windows open. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They parked our car for us and provided us with a great dinner recommendation. They serve snacks before dinner and biscotti and dessert wine after dinner and the breakfast is amazing! So many options. Would definitely recommend!
Pretty comfortable hotel in Cortona for people, coming in a car. Hotel is located at the foot of the hill, easily accessed in the car. Does not have its own parking though when you come, your car is parked nearby by hotel personnel. When you need it, the car is brought within several minutes. 5 minutes to walk along a non-steep street up the hill to the town center. Excellent breakfast. Main problem is to taste everything that is in the buffet (and everything is worth tasting). Bar with soft drinks in the room is complimentary (but not refilled ). Friendly personnel. Receptionist advised us where to go for dinner, what to look at in the town, and what neighboring towns to visit (with recommendations about vinaries, restaurants, POI). The only thing I would complain is the WiFi. It was poor in out room. Receptionist several times reset the routers, it network started working better, but soon was down again. Some network from the other floor was usable, but was pretty poor.
