The gardens and buildings are beautiful as well as the view of the volcano, Arenal. The rooms are a bit plain on the inside, but comfortable. I have stayed here at least 6 times, and always have been treated well. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous!

Fabulous, super nice pool, staff, cofree and tea all day, yummy breakfast and much as you wanted. A/C, nice areas to sit around property. 5 star! !! Wonderful location, close to town and nice and quiet. Beautiful views. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate me during my stay. San Bosco's owner also owns a resort with hot springs just outside of town and you have access to the springs, but must provide your own transportation. The hotel itself is located within walking distance of downtown, and is well known enough that it's no issue for drivers to find. They offer breakfast at 6:30, however, I was there at 6:50 and it was not fully set up. Also, beware they offer a soap dispenser in the shower, not an actual bar of soap. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend/stay again.

Good basic hotel. We got free armbands to go to the Volcano Lodge and Springs which was great! Very nice pool and hot springs there. Both hotels are owned by the same person.

It was a nice one-night stay. At check-in we received a present we were not aware of at booking; which made our stay even better. The breakfast is really good. The hotel is just one block away from La Fortuna Plaza, but it is really quiet at night. We were very happy with this hotel.

Grounds are kept very clean, breakfast was very nice and staff made this hotel AWESOME!

Loved the hotel, front desk guys were friendly and helpful. Short walk to pharmacia, panderia, groceries, etc. Quiet location . nice pool and hot tub. Iguanas and hummingbirds in beautiful garden in front of room. Free breakfast was awesome, fresh fruits, juices, coffee, pasteries, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, etc , buffet style, every day something different. So much to do in the area as far as hikes, must do hanging bridges-$24. water park nearby was nice $12/day it had several swimming pools some heated by hotsprings. The volcano had nice hikes at various locations. We rented a car- watch for scam at rental place were they sell you additional insurance. We picked up several locals as we drove from place to place-many don't have transportation and rely on someone who knows them to drive by and pick them up. Don't be afraid to ask folks if they need a ride during day it is safe and they can give you ideas on what to see and how to save money in their community.

This place is super clean, very helpful and friendly staff, free coffee and tea and a pretty good breakfast. It's also centrally located in La Fortuna just a few blocks from everything. Overall, very good value for the price and we'd highly recommend it.

this hotel is situated in downtown La Fortuna. The room was slightly above standard but what really made this hotel was the outstanding service! Form the receptionist to the maid service to the people in charge of the breakfast they did everything to make yor stay enjoyable. I was able to book tours right at the hotel, they had a masseuse come to the hotel and when we were waiting over 30 minutes for our Interbus they took it upon themselves to call and check on the arrival. All-in-all the bus service forgot about us but arranged private transportation. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff was so helpful at San Bosco. The breakfast was delicious, room was comfortable, and the hotel was located within easy walking distance of everything in La Fortuna.

You cannot beat this location and price. You are literally a two minute walk from the center of town and 10-15 min car ride to the volcano. The staff is fantastic and the rooms were perfect for what we needed. Two pools and a hot tub attached to a great sushi restaurant.

Great help from the staff to arrange tours and places to eat. All tips were good and all very helpful with any need.

The hotel is OK, location is perfect (at the center of La Fortuna, you can walk anywhere), and hot springs and Volcano are very close.

If you are looking for a good location in La Fortuna, this is a good option, because you can go around the town walking. Over all, the hotel is good for the price.

I found a great rate for this hotel and was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and while the carpet was a bit worn I could not find anything else to complain about. The hotel is perfectly located near the center of la fortuna which makes it the perfect spot for those that want to be close to the thermal water resorts and other activities (5 minutes from Baldi and 10 minutes from Tabacon) but interact with the locals and dine and shop where the locals do. The hotel staff was excellent, we were given a warm welcome upon arrival and the breakfast staff were very accomodating and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Speaking of the breakfast, it is free and consisted of gallo pinto, eggs made to order, fruit, bread, cereal and juice/coffee/tea. I did not get to use the pool nor jacuzzi but they looked very clean and I saw other patrons having a great time there. In summary, if you like being among the locals and want to save some money you should definitely stay at the San Bosco. I will definitely stay there again!

This was a great hotel for the price. Wonderful breakfast, internet in the room, outdoor pool and comfortable beds. The rooms are simple but comfortable.

Clean, basic hotel in the middle of La Fortuna. Easy access to get anywhere in town and about 30-45 minute drive away from major attractions throughout Arenal. Rooms are small, but very clean, and hot water plentiful. We would stay again.

Nicely landscaped pool and courtyard. Breakfast buffet was served poolside. Easy two block walk into town. Helpful staff and excellent security.h

This is a cute, basic hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean, cozy and safe. The hotal and parking lot are gated with 24-hr security. Breakfast was included with the room and was good - eggs, toast, fruit and cereal. The fruit was delicious! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's one block off the main drag so it's within waking distance of many great restaurants. All the tour companies come there for pick ups. I originally tried to get in one of the more expensive, luxury hotels. So glad I wasn't able to. They're much further out of town and have a totally different vibe (large, touristy). San Bosco was just the right mix of local feel and western comfort. Loved it!

This hotel is a great value and the location is perfect for your Arenal visit. Is it a short drive to the Arenal volcanoes and is in the center of the main town area. The staff deserve 5 stars as they went above and beyond our stay. Some of the rooms with one double bed are smaller, therefore, I would request or book the rooms with one double bed and one twin bed. Breakfast is buffet style and consists of eggs, rice and beans, fruit, and toast. The pool is clean and they also have a hot tub which isn't too hot. We felt safe staying here and couldn't ask for better service.
