Great volcano view from my back porch. If this baby blows you'll be one of the 1st to know. Howler monkeys in the trees above my front porch. Jungle lodge feel but with the touch of a fine hotel and the convenience of a rustic small town (2 minute drive). Very friendly and helpful staff. All activities close by and most tour operators will pick you up at this facility. All rooms are in separate stand-alone buildings. Great breakfast buffet was included. Nice pool and hot tub but not a focus for us. My family and I loved this place (teens). I seriously can't think of any complaint, our stay was above expectation.

Staff was extremely helpful from booking our excursions to shuttling us between airport and other hotels. Very accommodating and you can't beat the views on a clear day.

The hotel is beautiful and very well mantained. The main problem was that the internet didn't work in the room, only in the reception. Breakfast was very good, and location excellent.

The resort has stunning view of the volcano, very close to La fortuna town. The staff are friendly. We loved it!

I really suggest avoiding lomas and arenal. The hospitality here was terrible. Employees seemed upset to be there and unhappy. No smiles anywhere. The town is lifeless. Around every turn is someone trying to scrape one more dollar out of you. Not trying to give you a wonderful travel experience. When I asked to speak to a manager the staff said he wouldn't speak with me - a guest of the hotel! The vibe here is really off. I suggest you look elsewhere. I've asked for a refund, maybe at least I won't have wasted money in the end, only time.

Wifi never works, landscaping noise starts at 6am. No English TV, dirty, A/C never works, cold shower, staff is rude and unpredictable. I booked this place again by accident same crappy stay as a couple years ago. AVOID! Worst experience in 15 years in Costa Rica.

Beautiful views of volcano, wild life on hotel resort at times, great accommodating staff, restaurant is set at tourist prices, $6 cab fare to town, located off a ranch. It's close to town, but a bit of a drive from main road to the actual hotel. Large cabin rooms.

The staff was very helpful seep finally since we didn't speak Spanish. I enjoyed the view of the volcano from our balcony. The bungalows are spacious and adorable. The hotel is a ways from the main road so it's not convenient if you don't have a car, but taxis are readily available. Thank you Josey (front desk attendant) for helping me with my bruise. I will be back!! Pura Vida!

We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms were large and clean. The porch was great for relaxing. The landscape on the hotel grounds was so beautiful and well kept. In addition, the free breakfast had a great selection and was filling. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful experience. The wait staff was great, extremely helpful. The accommodation was great rooms very clean, and the grounds impeccible.

Individual chalets,, nice, average to good amenities

Very nice cabin, awesome scenery, good breakfast. Loved the pool and jacuzzi.

Lomas del Volcan is located off of the busy highway offering a serene place next to nature but close enough to town (and nearby hot springs). The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained with a prime view of the volcano. The private cabins are quite spacious and very charming with its front and back porches perfect for a bit of relaxation. Breakfast is included: pancakes, toast, rice & beans, fruit, sausage. Restaurant and activity options are on the pricey "touristy" side. You can probably find better deals but paying a premium for convenience is available if desired.

This place is wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and attentive and spoke good English. The rooms have amazing views of the volcano. The back porch had chairs and a table with a full view of the volcano. The cabins were very clean and comfortable. The "free continental breakfast" was a full breakfast with omelettes and eggs to order, pancakes, rice and beans, fresh fruit and lots of other hot items. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We hiked back in the pasture toward the volcano and could hear the howler monkeys in the jungle. We highly recommend this place.

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. An additional treat was that the food was delicious!

Good location although little of the road. The drive to the hotel of the main road is very bumpy due to unpaved dirt road. Still the hotel is nice and the surroundings is beautiful. Room could use a little kitchenette. Also, complimentary water bottles would have been nice instead of mini bottles that cost $2 a piece. The floor is cover with tiles that get very slippery when it's wet outside (like now, since it's rainy season). Breakfast was nice and staff warming. Overall good experience but it would have been even better with these improvements.

Beautiful location with a great view of the volcano, we only stayed here for 2 nights because we couldn't get a room for the 3rd, wish we could have stayed longer. The cabins are spacious and private, the gardens lovely! Staff are helpful, they helped organise our excursions.. Kayaking, river rafting and a Rainforest walk!

Delightful individual "casitas" allowing "alone time" that is enhanced by dips in a nice cool pool, the most delightful service providers in the restaurant and at the desk, and finally the incredibly beautiful and pristine volcano ever present.

We stayed for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience here. We like private, natural settings and this was perfect! You get your own villa with a front and back porch and a shower large enough for a party of 10! The staff is honest and very helpful and the free breakfast buffet is better than any continental breakfast you can find in the states. The restaurant is reasonably priced and good as well. I will say that if you're a light sleeper and/or like to sleep late bring ear plugs. You are in a jungle and the nocturnal birds chirp at all hours especially during a full moon. I would definitely stay here again! It's right by the town yet far enough from the road that you NEVER hear traffic. Everything is VERY clean and well maintained and you get maid service every day. ¡Pura Vida!

This place was fantastic situated in the rain forest right at the base of Volcan Arenal it is an amazing location. All rooms are private bungalows so you feel all alone in the forest well still having the luxury of a hotel
