price is right, staff is very friendly and helpful for sites to see and how to get to them; rooms are basic; air cond is extra if in room at all, but fan was adequate for our stay. Shower had great water pressure and hot water. Bed was comfortable but simple. no place to hang clothes. Continental breakfast was adequate and tastefully presented. However, if you want more than 2 slices of toast, 9 slices of (delicious) fruit, a pat of butter and jelly and glass of OJ, you have to pay about $3 per item (pancakes, omelets, etc.). But all the food is high quality so it is worth it. Pool was place to cool off and back from road. Road noise is strong during rush hours but rooms are back from the road. We would stay here again.
Budget travelers will find a comfortable stay at Hotel Arenal Rossi for a few nights while they explore the region. Although the grounds are located about a mile west of the center of town, a grocery is nearby. The staff was very friendly. The room, furnished with a bed, dresser and nightstand, was located situated near the front of the grounds and benefitted from a strong internet signal.
Our host was marvelous and helped with numerous phone calls and arrangements. They graciously allowed us an early 8:30 am check in. Rooms are very simple and very clean. Good WiFi, AC, comfortable beds, hot shower, and fridge in our large room. Continental breakfast is included. Full breakfast is extra, but when available we were invited to enjoy the breakfast and lunch buffets provided for bus tour guests. Great location with or without rental car. View of the volcano. Just outside of town with easy walk to additional restaurants, coffee roaster, grocery, and close to hot springs and tours. Very nice experience for our family. Thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome!
They room was fine, shower was good, although bathroom was a little tired. Road was a bit noisy at night. Staff were really helpful. Nice gardens and view of the volcano (or there would be if the cloud lifted...) It's handy to various attractions, and shops and restaurants (although we just ate at the restaurant on site).
The room was ok. Not bad. Not great. It was in a good location for all the local hot springs. The breakfast was ok. Do t order bacon. It's no bacon. It's raw ham. Yikes. We weren't there long enough to test the pool. There is a tv in the room. The beds were thin and springy but we slept ok.
I would like to praise the staff for this place! We didn't have reservations but they helped us promptly after pulling in. Our room was great for the price and very spacious. On our second day it was raining very heavily but we wanted to fill our time rather than sitting in our room. My boyfriend asked the attendant what would be the best thing and he recommend a night walk which is the highlight of our whole trip! When we came back from the night walk we had a minor problem in our room, the same attendant quickly exchanged us our room without any hesitations or problems! I would also like to thank the housekeeper for cleaning up after us!
I spent two nights in the Hotel Arenal Rossi in July 2016. While the surrounding town is nice and quiet and the views of the volcano are breath taking, I would not recommend staying in this hotel. I WOULD recommend eating here. Our room was very small with white marble tile floors. There are no floor coverings and when the tile is wet, it gets very slick and dangerous. Our ceiling fan did not work and when we called the front desk to ask for help, the young lady came to our room, hit the box a couple of times and wiggled the dial. The ceiling fan came on HIGH for about 10 minutes and stopped again. I was eventually able to wedge a small piece of plastic into the dial and close the short. There is an AC unit in the room that can be overpowering for the tiny room. The bed was not comfortable. The mattress was very thin as was the blanket. The driveway is paved in what I believe to be volcanic cinder. It is very crunchy ans sticks to everything. When added to the marble tile floors, it is an absolute mess. When added to your sheets from the bottom of your sheets, it is unbearable. The hot water and wifi are hit or miss. All I can suggest on that is the wee hours of the morning. The restaurant was excellent. We ate here basically 3 meals a day for 2 days. The food is flavorful, the fruit juice is absolutely amazing, and the staff is the best we met on our trip. Maybe the restaurant manager should run the hotel as well. Overall, this hotel was a place to sleep on a tour. Given a choice, I would not stay here again.

Hotel room is decent for price. I stayed in room 23, it essentially has no windows, which was frustrating. The other rooms were all much better. The pool was a little cold, but relaxing. The restaurant food was very good.
I have stayed only one night there. Place is well located, short drive from lots of places I wanted to visit. But room itself is old. Clean. It was very noisy to sleep there. Unfortunately didn't had a good rest. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
