There is nothing really bad about this property... but it is still about a 2-3 star place to stay. Cheap mattresses, cheap bedding, and an old building. No hot water for showers of course. On the other hand, it has a nice hostel feel.
La Choza Inn was super clean and simple. The staff was very informative about the tours and shuttle transportation around La Fortuna. We got the double private room and it was spacious and very clean. 5/5 I recommend this place. It's also nicely tucked away from the busy touristy town of La Fortuna.
There was a mix up with our reservation so they didn't have a room for us the first night, but the manager helped us find a room for that night and gave us discounts on another night and a travel purchase. Overall the staff was great. The room is basic and comfortable but they don't provide shampoo (no place we stayed during the trip did). The breakfast was really nice. It is located conveniently in the town of Fortuna and had pretty decent views of the volcano too.
