We have had a timeshare for a number of years and it’s getting tired now needs updating The awning outside now does not exit and we are in a deluxe room on the top floor it’s not now as we first purchase the timeshare The air conditioned is very poor and leaks patio doors have a job to move and leak in the rain it is desperate to be updated
I spent a very enjoyable week at this resort last month. The beach is very close to this resort and the area is very quiet and peaceful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and there was a large well stocked grocery about a mile away. The grocery sold lunches and the apartment had a kitchen that was well stocked with utensils and appliances so we could prepare all your meals when we desired. The beach is beautiful and if you wish to travel by the local transport, you just need to walk a short distance to the bus stop. The drivers are very helpful and the fare was very cheap. We did not have electricity one night but it returned the next morning. There was also a problem with the heating system while we were there so this was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, we loved Antigua and all the people we met.
We have been visiting Tranquility Bay as part of our time share for the past 12 years and consider this to be our home away from home. The people are always friendly, the room although dated and soon to be updated are in a perfect location for diving (Jolly Dive), swimming (great beach only steps away), restaurants, food store, in room cooking when going out for a meal is just not part of the plan and some great rest and relaxation. The staff always see that you have all that you need. The covered patio/balcony is huge and is a great place to get out of the sun when you need that break in the day or just to sit and relax. Our unit has two bed rooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, two bathrooms, laundry room, and a covered patio that is large enough for a full size outdoor eating table and lounge chairs with room to spare.
Tranquility Bay Antigua offered the opportunity for a very relaxing and peaceful stay. The rooms are very spacious and has all the necessary amenities for your comfort and convenience. The staff was very courteous and ensured that my stay was trouble free.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the water was amazing and the best pretty blue. The people are very friendly, but when we came over to Jolly beach resort some of the staff over there had an attittude and they are arguing with the guests, I go back to tranquility bay but not going at Jolly Beach resort
My two girlfriends and I stayed at the Tranquility Bay Antigua in May 2015. The stay was part of a time share package my one friend's parents let us use, so that's why we stayed here. My friend told me to just book my flight and bring spending money as the room was on her, so I couldn't say no!!! The room was a little out dated, but I loved the beachy feel of it. Also the balcony was HUGE and we spent a lot of time playing board games and card games at night on the balcony (not ocean view, but still nice to have). The resort seemed pretty quiet, and there is no food included in your stay, but we were allowed to use the dining room at the resort next door (Jolly Beach Resort) if we paid a price. We opted not to, and instead went to the supermarket that was a two minute golf cart ride away. We picked up groceries for a few days worth at a time, and would go home and make meals in our kitchenette. The beaches of Antigua are beautiful, I have never seen anything like it before. The water is aqua coloured, and completely calm. We were not bothered by any sea life, and had a blast suntanning on the beach or lounging on a beach floatie in the water. We met James on the beach our first day there, and he gave us some fresh mango's. We also arranged through him a night trip to Shirley Heights, one of the highest points of the Island, where they had a steel band and bbq dinner, and drinks. We partied into the night and felt completely safe with the driver that James arranged for us, and I later learned upon speaking with him that he was an ex-cop. We also did a snorkeling boat excursion with unlimited booze on the boat (but not until after the snorkeling was over) and they had a limbo contest, it was a super fun day!!! Overall I would definitely love to go back to Antigua, but may try a different resort next time. Who knows though, if the price is right, I'd return to Tranquility Bay.
breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters and good tours had such wonderful time with my daughter and grandsons. so much so i went on my first zipline ever at my young age of 65.great time was had by all.
Beautiful beach!!!!!! with calmed, endless turquoise waters, however the most crowded and touristic of all beaches that we visited. The harbour is a great place to shop and dine or just grab a coffee.
If I had to rate this hotel based on my original encounter with the front desk clerk I would give them a one but luckily I had better experiences during my stay at the hotel. We arrived on Christmas Eve around 10:00 pm. There was no one available to take our luggage to our room and the area was dark leading to the room. A very reluctant and rude security officer took us to a very smelly and old room with mosquitoes literally swarming around the room. We called the front desk and explained the situation and she said there were no other rooms available but she was going to send us some fly spray. Well we waited and no one showed up and when we tried calling the front desk, they refused to answer. So we walked back to the lobby and insisted that they give us another room. The woman insisted that nothing was available. Only when I threatened to call the company we made the booking with she checked again and got us another room but made no attempt to have the security guard help us relocate. She just handed us the keys told us where it was. This person should never be employed in the hospitality industry in my opinion. The only good thing was she upgraded us to a 2 bedroom unit which was very spacious and had all the amenities such as a full kitchen as well as living and dining areas. The rest of the staff was actually very friendly and efficient. Our room was within walking distance to a beautiful beach. There was some restaurants on the beach and also at Jolly Harbor & Marina. We were able to use the facilities at Jolly Beach Resort and there was a supermarket close to the hotel. The hotel has a serious mosquito problem that needs to be addressed. There was a shuttle to take you to the different places mentioned above. We had no problems except for one occasion interestingly when the same front desk clerk was on duty and when we called for pick up she said there was no one available. Although it was within walking distance we ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel.. Except for those two encounters with the clerk we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Hotel is in a great location but seriously needs to be upgraded.
We arrived to find out that the electricity and water had been turned off and had been restored only the same day we arrived. The air conditioning did not work the entire stay. Other items of concern with the room - the ceiling fans had been removed, the lamps were gone, the furniture is really outdated, the ice machine was out of order the entire time and on and on. It appears that this resort may be either running out of money or preparing for bankruptcy. This is such a shame because we have been going here for over 10 years and we love this place. The staff here is absolutely wonderful. They have always gone out of their way to help in any and every way they could. Our main concern was that we were not notified of these problems prior to our arrival. This could have been a real disaster if they were not able to get another water and power supplier and we would have been without. All rooms on the island were booked and we would have had no choice but to try and leave. We hope they are able to turn this around - this property has one of the nicest beaches on the island. We wish the staff luck and hope for the best!
