Comfort Inn and Suites Ann Arbor

I travelled frequently for my previous job so I have an understanding on what to expect depending on area and type of hotel I choose to stay at. I also know that doing a bit of research will lead one to find a much better rate online than at the hotel front desk. I had my first terrible experience that I can recall at a Choice Hotel franchised hotel. To add insult to injury, this is a Comfort Suites, which one can usually expect a little more during their stay than a Comfort Inn. Basically I would say you should expect a 3.5 star to 4 star experience at a Comfort Suite (depending on area). Now from this point on, the experience went bad. The first room I was given was already inhabited. If not for the inner slide lock being in place, I would have fully intruded on a person sleeping. Who knows how that person would have reacted? Who would blame him? I informed the front desk attendant and he proceeded to give me a different room.....one that also is not vacant. This time the room isnt locked but nobody is in there but signs of occupancy are such as clothing near the couch, unmade bed and most important, a stench of drugs (strong). I inform the clerk and the 3rd time he decides to check first and we finally get an unoccupied room.

I was pleased at the price which included hot full breakfast & a pool for children to burn off energy.

Old and out dated. No outlet to charge iphone. Peeling wall paper, stained ceiling and carpets. Dirty.

Not happy with room very dirty poor customer service

This is very good hotel with a nice pool and hot tub. It is clean and well organized. The breakfast is very average but they do have a waffle maker which is a plus. Don't stay in the hotel next door! Definitely choose this one.

This a cheap hotel and that is what you get. Everything was clean and working, but could have used some repairs.

Friendly staff, large room. Good experience. Good breakfast. Close to the highway and Ann Arbor.

Good location, hotel clean. Advertised breakfast could be a little more diverse and complete. Overall got the job done.

The Inn is in really bad need of an up-grade. The room we had smelled moldy from the minute you opened the door. The vending machines on the 2nd floor did not work (gave you anything but what you pushed the button for) and NO refunds by the Inn. The shower curtain did not even reach the edge of the tub, water everywhere, almost fell coming out of the shower. Management did fix this after the 1st day.

pleasent stay, friendly staff. good for the value.

I average around 120 nights a year in hotels. This hotel could be a real nice stay if they would address the rust on the door jams of the bathroom and do a little maintenance in the bathrooms.

I was visiting the University of Michigan. It was covenient to the campus and a good value. The staff was efficient and friendly. The 1st night I was there they had dinner set up. It was a nice touch and very good. BBQ chicken, corn, rice and beans. The location and property felt safe.

Front desk staff was not readily available, they overbooked so we didn't get the room we reserved, inside windows in room were extremely dirty, non-smoking room smelled of smoke, breakfast food options very limited, eggs served for breakfast were nasty, were was trash in elevator both days we were there, parking was inconvenient, outside of building was not well kept. Very disappointed from previous stays at other locations from same vendor.

First let me say that in the very competitive hotel market near the colleges, there are more travelers than there are rooms. But ...in a nut shell: 1) Cleanliness - Good 2) Bed comfort - Very good 3) Room comfort - poor to fair; the AC needed a charge of coolant. The room was always too warm to the point that I always went to sleep sweating. (August). 4) Towels? Where?: Every night I had to ask for towels, but I did receive towels. 5) Wash cloths? Where?: Every night I had to ask for wash cloths, there were none; I was given hand towels to use instead. 6) TV: Yes, but no HD. 7) FREE Internet: Excellent. 8) Breakfast: Good - Cereal & milk, but some sausage & hot oatmeal as well. 9) Ice machine on 2nd fl broken (where my room was), but one on 1 st fl was working 10) Staff were not overtly helpful, but they did respond to questions.

Rather disgruntled front desk staff, more expensive than it should be, and dog poo on the carpet in our room. Will look elsewhere next time.

Shared parking. dirty areas. Smelled like dog. Dog barks in next room during night. TV on past 3 am in next room. No ironing board in entire motel NEVER AGAIN

I have warned you, so please listen/read/learn. My girlfriend and I recently stayed there for a one-nighter before heading off to the airport the next morning. The staff was extremely rude and uncooperative; the front desk check-in clerk was incoherent and also distracted by watching the TV in the lobby. We seemed as though we didn't exist. Finally, we received our room, a handicapped room which we did not request or need. As we walked into the room and got settled in, we both noticed that room was very dirty with dust, marks on the mirrors, room smelled of smoke, tables were greasy/grimy, and the A/C barely worked. We did not complain to the staff as we thought they would have ignored us anyways. During the night, it was loud: People running up/down the hallways, yelling, and smoke was drifting in the room...we don't smoke and this was a non-smoking room!? Our overall experience was extremely below what we expected from a Comfort Inn & Suites. I highly suggest that you pass on this hotel, because this is not a hotel, an inn, or a suite!! Its a place of squalor!

I would highly recommend this hotel to those traveling with children. The pool area was very nice

The entrance was very dirty. Carpets had many stains. Staff not fieindly at all. Breakfast was not keep up. No food at 800am on buffet and was open to 900am.

Comfortable, clean. Hot breakfast; location not to be beat - near I-94 and SR-23. Lots of restaurants nearby, close to downtown AA, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's.
