Hotel Xalet Verdú

Service in the hotel was good and also location was good for us because from Xalet verdu you can easily get to the walking trails nearby. Also info center was near and from there we got maps for the trails. View from our window was beautiful and trekking offered us more astonishing views. Only some of the restaurants in Arinsal and a few supermercados are open this time of the year. Hotel restaurant offers food and drinks. Hotel is very clean. If you are sensitive for odours there is very strong aroma in the rooms. Taxi to the Andorra is about 20€ and bus L5 drives every hour (until 21.30)and costs 3.30€ or 4.80€ roundtrip.

Stayed on my own in April for last week of ski season. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was included which was great at the price and the choice was super. I opted to eat in the restaurant for a couple of evenings. Starter buffet was very tasty and mains nice. A bottle of good rioja was just Euro 8! The gondola is about 300 metres away. Wifi worked well even though I was on top floor at end of short corridor.

A bit old fashioned but with a rustique charm and friendly staff. Nice view over the mountains from our room. Unfortunately we ran out of hot water when the whole family had showers. The breakfast was mediocre.

Just back for the second visit and planning to go back next year. Food is simple but fine. Service is excellent, couldn't be better. The hotel is runned like a big family. Price is fantastic. Kids have their own room for a low price.

Great hotel, superb location, food, rooms fantastic,We visited as a family of four, two are boarders and two walkers(73 and 70 years).loved our time in Andorra. We are going back in 2018.(The lifts are just a a short walk away)

We traveled from Toulouse to Arinsal by car. The journey time was 3 hours and we had two tolls costing 11 euro in total one way. Andorra is high so check the weather as if you don't have snow chains you may not make the drive! The hotel offers underground parking and some off road parking. We came out of season so had lots of space not sure how it would be in high season. We came to ski and found the location to be good. The hotel is situated 300 meters up hill from the main gondola and you can take a short cut through the gardens of the princess hotel. You can store skis in a ski store at the hotel for a 5 euro deposit for a padlock from reception On arrival check in was quick and our room 202 was on the second floor with double aspect windows. It was clean and warm with bath and shower over it and plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the room serviced daily. Tv had limited English speaking channels. Beds were comfy. On the ground floor you have a small Lounge with tv a bar and restaurant. Food was interesting, not necessarily a typical uk choice but there was something for everybody. Breakfast had a mixture of hot and cold offerings and the evening meal had a choice of 3 main courses along with help your self starter and a choice of sweet. I can't say the food was amazing but it was acceptable. There are 3 ski areas, Arinsal, with a cable car which links direct to Pal and a 30 mins car drive to ordina arcalis. We found arinsal limited with all the runs in the same valley. Fine for new skiers. Pal was a bit more interesting with more variety and a larger area. Our favourite was ordina arcalis with longer runs and more chance to do a little off piste if you want. All 3 areas are covered by one ski pass- vallnord which cost 114 euro for 3 days. Cost for drinks and food on the mountain was much cheaper than Switzerland - 2.50 for a hot Chocolate and 3.50 for chips. Car parking at all resorts was good and free Other reviews mention noise. We could hear the river opposite and some road noise and our room faced the main road and some late night revellers but nothing that caused us any problems. Apart from the 3 hour drive from the airport we enjoyed our stay and if like us you came to ski and you are not too picky then this hotel should be good for you too!

I have coeliacs disease and the guys in the hotel have gone to great lengths to make sure that all is ok for me. The room is good, seems like unlimited hot water as well. The rooms are kept clean and tidy which is great. It is a walk to the gondola but as soon as you work out the "short cut" through the grounds of the Diana it is a little easier.

I visited this hotel with my friend for a cheeky last minute ski holiday the first Sunday of March. The staff were very accommodating with my gluten free diet, and always friendly and polite, from the chef, to the maid, reception staff, restaurant staff and the Legend Himself, 'Nello' the restaurant manager! The hotel was a short walk downhill to the gondola station. We stored our skis & boots in the lockers at Pic Negra ski shop at the top of the gondola for about 16 EUR each, making the walk to the gondola more comfortable in our walking shoes! The hotel didn't have a spa but we were able to use the spa in the nearby Hotel Pricessa Parc for just 15 EUR for a two hour session, which was definitely worth while. The ski area is much smaller than we are used to, but we knew this when we booked. Inghams & other tour operators offer an away day to Arcalis for a small fee, just 11 EUR, where the skiing was great. This is covered by the area lift pass. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return the following day. The hotel helpfully booked a taxi for us and we returned by free bus in the afternoon. Tip: Collect your return ticket from the Information Office on arrival in Arcalis to guarantee your seat on the free bus! We enjoyed the local skiing too. We skied the local slopes in Arinsal first thing, then took the cable car over to Pal late morning. Spending a couple of days in Arcalis definitely helped us not to get bored with Arinsal & Pal. I would definitely return to Hotel Xalet Verdu for a second 'Brucie Bonus' ski week, but not for my main ski holiday, simply because it's more suited to beginners & progressive skiers & I prefer more mileage. However, the all-round quality of the holiday, my first time in Andorra, was excellent!

Great value for money, staff all friendly and always willing to help, anyone who says otherwise I struggle to believe. The rooms are basic but have everything you need to stay comfortably. The location is great, a couple hundred yards from the main gondola up to the mountains also not too far from local bars/restaurants. The food in the hotel was amazing, great variety with a buffet at dinner and a choice of 3 dishes for a main, it was not what I was expecting atall. I was expecting basic and it was far from that, it was like we were eating out every night. Top quality food. Would definitely book and stay here again in the near future.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in February to go snowboarding and do not have a bad word to say. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms were clean, tidy and always warm. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and was constantly topped up throughout the morning and the evening meals were plentiful and tasty. It is within a 5 minute walk (at the absolute most) from the gondola so is in an excellent location for all the bars / restaurants and isn't too far to carry your equipment to and from. Overall I would fully recommend this hotel
