Stayed here with a group of friends skiing. There were 10 of us and they put us all on the same floor. The hotel is very close to pas de la casa slopes and ski shop for equipment hire. Also close to many bars. The rooms are large and clean with comfortable beds, shower cubicle and separate bath, rooms cleaned daily with new towels. free safe and mini fridge topped up with water daily. We went half board so buffet breakfast and evening dinner included - which was very good selections each day and non repetative foods and plenty to go round. Ski lockers are provided in the hotel for free. Small spa facilities are there also Sauna, steam room, 2 small jacuzzis, showers, and massages - access to this may be an extra charge but was included in our package, there are no changing rooms there oddly so need to change in your room. Massages are about 60 euros for an hour or 40 euros for half hour. Staff and waiters were very friendly and helpful - the reception is staffed 24/7. Reason not 5 stars is we were 1 level up from ground and with window shut could hear noise below at night from people leaving bars etc. Apart from that no major complaints and i would return. Lastly coaches cant drive up the hill to where the hotel is so on arrival/departure our suit cases were taken in a small van up to the hotel and we had a 5 minute walk to the hotel instead of being dropped right outside.
There are some good things that I liked but some problems too.... Location is excellent, about 100 meters from the slopes, rooms are modern and clean, Friendly and helpful crew , the WiFi works excellent everywhere at the hotel area. So we reach the meals-breakfast was good, I didn’t like dinner, there was a large variety of food to choose but most of it wasn’t testy. The view from the rooms is the buildings from the other side of the street... nothing to remind you that you are in a ski resort. I was surprised to hear that the hotel is one of the 3 best hotels in Pass The La Cassa, a month ago we were in Italy 🇮🇹 in 3 stars ⭐️ hotel which was much much better. Even tho In my opinion you get not bad value for money at that hotel, just know what you will get.
Great hotel, friendly staff, goid location near to the slopes. Good variety of food which was not always piping hot but that's the only negative I would give. Rooms are spacey, clean and comfortable, would recommend and book again
the hotel is about 100M from the slopes, so there is a 5 minute walk in the morning to the cable cars, on the other hand the hotel has avery warm atmosphere, and the staff are really outgoing to the make the stay as best as possible. we enjoyed it very much (family of 5 : 2 grownups and 3 children in adjoining rooms
Good modern hotel but with a few issues. It is well located for access to the ski slopes with ski and boot lockers in the lower floor. The bedrooms are good quality but metal window frames to the windows are cold and attract condensation and late night revellers leaving the nearby club at 3am create noise that penetrates the windows of the bedrooms on the front of the hotel. Worst though is the buffet where freshly put out food, including soup, was only lukewarm on far too many occasions. There was a chef preparing freshly cooked food on a grill but once that was prepared it had to be accompanied by the cool vegetables and rice, pasta, chips or other potatoes. There was a response to my complaint but the resultant hot food came too late to be of use to me. Some of the breakfast buffet food was also only just warm. At breakfast you make your own tea or coffee but they ran out of 'normal' black tea bags midway through the week. The front reception lobby doubles as a bar area but a problem with the main doors (they kept opening and closing for no reason) resulted in a cold environment, deterring use. There is a swimming pool and spa which attract an extra cost which I didn't use.
Hotel is located in a very good location @ pas de la casa,~50 meter from ski lifts. room are big clean and very nice, but thy are not suited to dry ski cloths. you have safe in every room, the ski room as lockers with electrical number combination code. staff is very nice and professional, breakfast as a big variety of choices and it's very tasty, Dinner has every evening barbecue of your choice. you will need to buy water/ soft drink @ Dinner at a fair price.food bottom line - Good ingredients but lack of spices (taste). All the hotel have Wi fi including the rooms. Hotel have a nice SPA - you need to schedule your visit there. Bare in mined that the water in the Jacuzzi are not so hot. Bottom line - Very good hotel, Very good staff, and very good location, food is avarge
This was the 3rd time in 12 months that we have stayed in this hotel so you can safely assume we were a fan of it. Sadly this last visit was such a disappointment. Positives. Location to slopes and overall good bedrooms, bath with plenty of hot water, (ill comment on specifics later). The ladies who cleaned the bedrooms were first class so to were the staff on reception. The New Years Eve meal and atmosphere was great. The egg station at breakfast was good. There was one lady in the restaurant (long hair and glasses) who interacted with the customers. It's just a shame she was the only one. Negatives. The whole restaurant experience. The new maitre d' was more like a bouncer on a night club door. As the face of the restaurant he was appalling. His clothes did not fit , he did not engage with the customers (there was no language barrier our group spoke Spanish, English and French). The food, yes there was choice, but was lukewarm and not replenished quick enough. Oddly yoghurt were not available at breakfast initially but later in the week did appear. It's really difficult to pin point the problem other than no one seemed to care (other than the lady mentioned above). The restaurant is not a 4 star one. We returned to this hotel because of the quality of the restaurant, will look elsewhere now. The bedrooms this time we were on floor 1. These rooms were certainly not the same standard as foods 3&4. The shower door was replaced with a curtain which caused the shower tray to fill and flood the floor. The access hand grip rail was missing from the bath and holes just left. The carpets was stained from water damaged. Also seemed to be the floor families were put on as lots of children were running around. All in all I have given this a 3 as I found the high standards previously experience had slipped.
Just arrived back from this hotel having spent 5 nights at the hotel with 4 days skiing. It's been around 10 years since I last skied the Grandvalira and there has been some significant investment in both slopes and lifts. The hotel rooms were modern, clean and comfortable, everything was where it should be and worked. Showers were powerful and hot. Hotel staff were brilliant that includes reception staff, the barman, restaurant staff and particularly the chefs (Abdul and Bye) Food was superb, everything was hot, the meat from the grill was cooked how you wanted and there was loads of choice for both dinner and breakfast. Proximity to the slopes 2 minute walk (if that), plenty of skiing despite it being early in the season (most of France was closed due to a storm). Leave the hotel from the heated boot room, turn right, 150 metres down the hill cross the road and you are at the lifts, which had no queues, we walked straight on every morning!! Leisure facilities were just what we wanted after a hard days skiing, we made use of the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Thanks to all the staff at the Hotel Font D'Argent.
Stayed here with my wife for a week in March, having been before a few years ago. It's a really nice hotel - great location (minutes from the slopes), nice modern rooms, very clean, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend , but be wary of two niggles : 1. We stayed half board, which included breakfast and evening meals. Breakfast was pretty good, but the evening meals were disappointing - the food could have been ok but everything was cold (or lukewarm at best). It's buffet style but they have no heaters for the food, so once it is put out it just gets colder and colder. It's not even that warm if you get there straight away. It's a shame because otherwise it could be quite nice. We ended up eating out 3 nights just to get some warm food!! 2. The leisure facilities are great, with 2 saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Unfortunately though the hot tubs also are not hot - again lukewarm. I asked a number of times for them to be made warmer but the answer was always that they were at 35 degrees (they were not), so we had to make do with a few minutes shivering in them each evening before warming up in the sauna/steam room! Again a shame because, like the food, this is so easily fixed! So I'd recommend the hotel but perhaps don't go half board and don't expect the hot tubs to be hot - although at least the sauna and steam rooms are!
Enjoyed the Hotel very much, good facilities, large room with twin beds plus an extra sofa bed, small fridge, plenty of wardrobe space with a personal safe. The modern bathroom, had a bath with shower over plus a separate shower cubicle. The room was nice and warm and the beds comfy. The Hotel has a buffet breakfast & evening meal with plenty of choice including soup, salads, fresh cut fruit, at least five choices of hot food, also you can have cooked food from the grill each day. A great choice of food each day. The Staff were very efficient and friendly, so a very enjoyable stay at this Hotel.
