On our first visit to Andorra, we were amazed to learn there are two parts of Andorra Vella, the Spanish and French and they are separated by 7 kilometers. It is important to learn which part of the city your lodging is in as it is reasonably difficult to navigate due to one way streets and mountains on one side. The Andorra Park is up the side of the mountain and has lovely views over the city and mountains with generous decks. The rooms are very comfortable and the grounds pretty. The breakfast room is very nice and they provide a substantial delicious meal. Shopping is really BIG in Andorra and there are high end shops from all over the world to entice a person. From the garden of the hotel it is possible to take an elevator down to street level and be in a good size shopping center. It is tax free which was quite a surprise to us. Be sure to print out specific directions before leaving home as it is difficult to get to as there are no signs directing you to the proper road to get to the hotel.
Our most recent stay at APH was for a very special occasion and the excellent service helped make the stay extra special and avert a disaster or two... literally! Firstly, a demonstration of customer service was when we checked in. We had accidentally booked the wrong type of room: a junior room without a balcony, which doesn't have the magnificent views of Andorra that the higher rooms have. Without fuss we were shown a couple of other available rooms and upgraded at a very reasonable price! The same young lady helped us out when we were stuck outside of the main city (a long story...) and our phones weren't able to ring Andorran numbers. She made sure we had all we needed after our return and even helped us book a table at a local restaurant. Our room had a very comfortable bed, great facilities that were superbly maintained, had a beautiful view from the balcony, and I noticed how housekeeping spend a good amout of time performing a daily clean, and an evening refresh. I look forward to breakfast every morning because there is so much choice of hot and cold food, which is enjoyed with fabulous views of the mountains, setting us up for a day of walking. We had a lovely stay, thanks to the location, services and all the staff at the hotel!
We spent 4 nights in this really nice hotel. The room was spacious, view spectacular and breakfast excellent. It's also centrally located - just take the elevator in nearby parking hall and you are in city center in 3 minutes. Handy. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the room's floor had just been waxed and it was really dangerously slippery, with or without shoes. The room service had problems with their English so we had to order three times to get it right. The personnel was friendly though.
I seldom take time to do TripAdvisor reviews but I'm so annoyed at this hotel that I feel compelled to. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. I've stayed at many 5 star hotels like Claridyes, the Burj Al Arab, the Dorschester and the Landmark and this place falls short on many levels. Still - many hotels are guilty of this and that's not the source of my main gripe which is how RUDE the staff are. Basically, everything seems a problem for them: - paying for a meal in the lobby on my room "NO POSSIBLE" - getting an office room for a business meeting "NO POSSIBLE" - an extra bed in our Duplex apartment "NO POSSIBLE" - sitting in the lobby "NO SIT THERE. NO POSSIBLE" The staff do not want to smile and explain anything but simply say everything is not available because they have another large party (Portuguese football team) here, and they seem to take priority. We paid £380 for our room but couldn't use the pool, sit in the lobby or use the business centre. Their duty manager simply said "We don't have enough good staff in Andorra so we cannot operate fully. Overall a poor excuse for hotel service from a business that seems to not really care about customer service. It's basically "take it or leave it" here. There are plenty of other cheaper and nicer hotels here. Don't stay here.
Rude staff - we had a duplex appt for €350 a night which was over priced. The staff have been rude from the moment we checked in. When complaining to the operations manager he would not get the general manager for us. Clearly the General does not see customer satisfaction as a priority. Also when we complained about the rude staff he said he was challenged with getting good staff on Andorra and that’s why they were a 4 Star and couldn’t move to a 5!! Unbelievable seriously stay away from this place.
Stayed here for 2 nights as we drove around France / Spain. The hotel is situated on the top of a hill overlooking the town with nice views of the mountains. Our room was just above the restaurant and was large and modern. The included breakfast included both continental and English options. We were concerned about walking up and down the hill from town but there's a handy elevator in a garage that can be used to avoid the steep incline from town to the hotel. The staff was very helpful in providing suggestions on things to do. The fitness center is very well equipped as well.
We booked the hotel to stay there for one night. The room was nice and clean. My boyfriend and I are big fans of the spa. We got there and the spa was closed. Only one notice about that was on their photos in booking.com but it wasn't clear. We even didn't looked at the photos. A big dissapointment. Breakfast was terrible! "Fresh orange" juice wasn't fresh orange juice, it was watered-down. No fresh vegetables- not even a slice of tomato or cucumber in selection. We got a part from terrible service from reception. First day everything was good, but on the second day staff were changed and one receptionist was rude to us and didn't even offer an apology. We were talking to them in English, but between our sentences they were mumbling to each other in Spanish. Long story for short- for being in most expensive hotel in Andorra, it didn't meet our expectations and wasn't definetely worth the money we paid!
A nice hotel, just outside the busy centre of Andorra La Vella. We had a large well appointed room with a balcony overlooking the valley. Good breakfast, I can't comment on dinner as we ate elsewhere. Car parking was 20 EUR for the night.
It is the top hotel in Andorra La Vella and it deserved the name, as the team provide the tip top service, from hotel amenities to helpful staff. All rooms are spacious and it comes with jacuzzi and balcony. The every view from every anger are fantastic. Would definitely come back again!
Got there at 9 pm after a 12 hour mountain drive to be greeted by the door man with a very warm Hello. The same at the front desk and then OOPS At this time of the year, maybe 40% occupied and asked about dinning. Was told that it is open till 11 pm _ GREAT -- time to enjoy the outstanding huge room with balconny and views of the mountains and a cocktail. When the waiter with the ice arrived, mentioned dinner and he said that we should call for reservations !!!. Called the front desk and was put on hold, when he came back was told - they are fully book -- this is at 9:45 and he insisted that the only choice was room service-- NOT. Went to the restaurant to find only 6 tables out of maybe 40 that were being used. Spoke to the head waiter and explained that I was a guest & would like a table -- any table at 10:30 and Voila we came back at 10:30 to a great table with outstanding service and food. Lesson learned to be nice and keep asking till you get the right ans. The buffet breakfast was one of the best in Europe. Tips: use a GDS or you will never find the hotel on the side of the mountain.
