Friendly staff willing to help. Hotel undergoing painting & improvements in lobby showing desire to improve. Rooms adequate and comfortable but not fancy. No continental breakfast only coffee & tea, etc.

GH was the best price. I booked easily. Front desk was friendly and thorough, explained info well. Parking easy. Free Breakfast at quaint rest. across street. Fairly nice view from Windows. Totally worth cost. T stars in my opinion

Close to downtown but not in a nice area. Many homeless and bums hanging around the hotel. Complimentary breakfast offered at a nearby restaurant with such bad ratings that we didn't chance going there. Bathroom floor was sticky and bathroom door didn't close without a battle. Parking was very limited. Prices are high in Anchorage but this was way overpriced for what you got. Would never go back.

This hotel is accessible going downtown,Seward Highway, and going to Fairbanks. The room were in was clean and spacious. We were upgraded into a room with 2 TV sets and with kitchenette without asking.thanks for good accommodation,we stayed for 8 nights.

The front desk staff was excellent! The room was atrocious. Hair was in the bathtub. A bottle cap was on the floor and stepped on causing an injury. Carpet is unravelling in several places. Sheets were old and the beds lumpy. Parking was awful including staff allowing overnight stays to park in the 15 minute wait spaces. Homeless people were allowed to come in and sit in the lobby. Breakfast was included and outside of the wait to get in, was good! Convenient location to downtown.

This location is awesome! The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and comfy. My home away from home.

It is in the middle of downtown, right near the open market. The staff were ok, the weren't very helpful during the stay and had no presence other than at the check-in. The trashcan had no bags in them (hotel policy?) and the beds were rarely made. The free breakfast at the restaurant was good but repetitive.

Being rather pressed for time, I booked this hotel without first looking at the reviews. Once I read the complaint reviews of the: excessive noise, cleanliness, condition and the neighborhood derelicts, I immediatley considered canceling and rebooking at The Sheraton a block away for a lot more money. However, as stated, being pressed for time, there just wasen't time. So, here is my review: Although it is probably not as nice as the Sheraton, overall, it is really not a bad mid-level hotel. I would easily compare it to a Best Western Plus type hotel. Furthermore, I did not see or experience anything negative that I have read about this hotel. It is clean and very well kept and it does shows. My only complaint would be that an hourly down town shuttle would be welcomed. It is a good seven block walk to where you want to be spending time. And let's be honest, not only in this neighborhood, but most of Anchorage is a pretty rough place to begin with. Passing the homeless and derelics to get downtown is not always a pleasant experience.

The inn is exterior and interior inn and unfortunately, those two buildings are not connected.

very good location, close to everything, walk everywhere hotel stuff is friendly

Room smelled bad, even worse when air/heating unit was turned on.

Would pick it again. Room seem clean and maintained. Location / quality / price is great.

Hotel is run down needs many renovations. Carpets stained, poor lighting.

We stayed in this hotel one night when our family stopped by Anchorage last Aug.The hotel is old and not very clean, but it is convenient and deserve its value considering its relative low price in summer season.

we stayed here twice on our Alaska trip to Denali. It is convenient to the railroad station--you could walk but with bags just a quick taxi ride. The rooms are standard fare, clean, comfy enough. The staff were great and very accommodating. Will stay again. We recommend for those traveling with kids.

Great place to stay in Anchorage... in and out, no hassle. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

There was a confusion about cleaning our room and we returned from our day out to a room that was not cleaned. the cleaning lady came by as we were just getting rea dy to leave and my husband told her to come back later. however, our room was reported as no service needed. it was not nice to come back to a dirty room. we were very disappointed. there were no clean towels and no toiletries for our family to use.

we stayed here twice for a night one each end of a trip to denali. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The area is convenient to walking to restaurants and even the train station if you are traveling light. rooms are adequate, nothing special. Would recommend and would stay again. Good for families.

PROS:convenient location, plenty parking (designated space nearby the hotel, not actually by the hotel), friendly staff, stable internet with decent speed CONS: very heavy smell of cleaning product and fragrance to mask the underlining smell of pets (it reminded me a well kept veterinarian's office), patched up holes on the wall and door, slow elevator, very limited parking actually by the hotel, loud refrigerator in the room. However, to be fair, it was inexpensive comparing to other hotels in Anchorage and you basically got what you paid for.

Expensive for the quality of construction and amenities. There seemed to be no insulation between rooms/floors. Very noisy and some questionable clientele. Some staff were caring and others not so much. I will not stay there again.
