Problem with checking in. Unfriendly staff and shower doesn't work.

I picked the Barratt during Iditarod weekend because the hotel was next to the Iditarod hotel headquarters on Lake Hood. When I checked in, the computer system was down, but the woman at desk patiently copied my proof of payment and got me a room (while two other people waited impatiently because their toilet was plugged). I went to my room to make calls and then went to the bathroom and saw that the maid had left NO towels. I went back to the desk where the new man at desk was working, and he got me an armful. If you are traveling solo, the location near airport is nice. The room is 1950s old and acceptable for a night or two. In summer, Alaska motels can be scarce. In a pinch, especially if you plan to spend very little time in the room but need a base camp, the inexpensive Barratt will do in a pinch.

staff was stoned i think but nice room was clean no coffee maker in room no stopper for tub for bath not enough towels no fridge no alarm clock and got wakeup call wrong..ps do not eat at the resturant aweful

In my room there was lint build up along the Walls... to me it could be solved by getting the housekeeping better equipment... bathrooms floor needed a better mopping.... nasty dirt and stuff a long the wall all built up so it's been there a long time... sheets did look and smell clean... but I would bring a pillow...

When I booked through Orbitz, it appeared to be close to the airport with shuttle service. That is just about what it turned out to be. Miniscule Lobby, desk. barely room to check in. Note in lobby indicated no house keeping. If sheets or towels needed, leave in hallway. Just a place to sleep, watch a bit of TV and move on.

The staff was super friendly. The room was mediocre at best. No daily room service, no coffee, no free breakfast.

The Hotel is in need of a major overhaul. The walls are thin and you can hear everything outside, It is obvious the owners have no pride in the property and it shows in the quality of the rooms. The staff was nice and the shuttle to the airport was on time. That was the only thing that worked out right.

We had to change rooms because of the lack of cleanliness and maintenance issues the hotel was not secure and felt very lacking in comfort and safety.

Hotel wasn't crowded and very quiet. Got a good night rest and was able to check out quickly. Close to airport and parking was free and open to space available.

This is the worst Travelodge we have ever seen. They told us the place was under remodeling, but it should be torn down and started with a clean slate. After checking out 3 different rooms, we left the place to stay elsewhere. The rooms were filthy, windows rotting out of frames, broken hardware so windows couldn't be locked, dark, smelly, old, holy blankets and sheets, etc. You get the picture.

Overall my stay was good. This was a busness trip and this hotel offered everything that I required.

Rooms were filthy, bathroom filthy, restaurant not clean, hotel was dark.Mouse droppings in bathtub. vomit on the wall

Had difficult finding the location. We drove past the site and had to call for location. The first room we were placed in had clothing from the previous tenant in the bathroom and the bathroom was not clean, The staff apologized. The second room was better but surely had seen better days. My wife thought that our clothing smelled after staying. Sorry for the bad review but the place needs renovation.

the hotel needs work it is out dated, it could do with a good cleaning

Loud at night. Sketchy part of town. Cheap place to sleep.

Initially, I had read bad reviews so was worried. No reason as accomodations were fine. It was a mid-priced motel w/ transportation to and from airport, and daily breakfast. Exactly what I wanted. There were a diversity of people who stayed there which was nice. One of the staff told me they have students from china there for the summer, which made it seem more international. If you're looking for a fancy hotel don't stay there. If you want more of a homey feel, its a good place.
