Good clean hotel, the workers at the bar are very nice and welcoming, the workers in the reception were also very helpful and told us the best places to visit in Amsterdam. Only thing I was annoyed about was that we arrived at 11am and I know check in is not till 2pm so we had to wait but the staff did not offer to look after our luggage whilst we did other things, so we were sitting in the lobby and they did not tell us when our room was ready we had to go there to ask them and it was ready, so I don’t understand why they couldn’t tell us that instead of us having to go to them. Apart from that it’s a decent hotel, not too far from the city centre, I would stay here again.

Everything was nice and clean. We overslept all the breakfasts, so I can’t say anything about it. But room was nice and cozy. Except that it didn’t have a toothbrush and we needed to ask for it)) the shower was great. We loved it! Thank you Mercure Hotel for a nice stay!

I booked this hotel for a three night city break for me and my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary and I am so pleased with my choice of hotel! The one downside to it is the one we discovered immediately, which is that it is a little further out from the main city. We travelled straight from Schiphol Airport to Overamstel by train and immediately got lost trying to find the Mercure (tip I discovered the next day: you can actually see the Mercure sign from the platform so make sure you look for it and follow it!) but once you know where you're going the hotel is eats to find and only a ten minute walk from the station. There is a shuttle to the station every morning as well. The hotel staff were really welcoming and friendly when we arrived and we were upgraded to a privilege room which was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable and I loved the quirky decorations! We had a Nespresso machine and mini fridge with soft drinks in our room and these were all replenished every day which was a lovely touch. We got great sleep in the bed as well, which was super comfy! The bar was very well presented and we enjoyed a drink there on our final night - it felt a lot more 'expensive' there than it actually was in price. We didn't eat at the hotel as it was a little pricy but the food did look delicious. There is also a little shop on the ground floor open 24 hours a day selling a range of snacks and toiletries which is such a great idea for people who arrive late or are having a bit of an emergency! The cash machine there was very useful as well. It is possible to walk into the city which we did once, but it is quite a few miles away from the centre so it's easier to take the short train ride of about 15 minutes. I would absolutely recommend this hotel (particularly for couples or those on business) if you don't mind not being right in the city centre, as it was sophisticated, clean and friendly. If I ever visit Amsterdam again I will definitely stay here!

This hotel is a tired property with some attempts to gloss over poor maintenance and dated fixtures in the rooms. I stayed for 3 nights and was moved 3 times to different rooms due to substandard plumbing where each time I used the shower, the room basically flooded. The attitude of staff was basically dismissive. As their Reception and Concierge desk is rolled into one function, the staff are focussed on checking in/out (if they're at the desk). A booking made for a dinner cruise was made for me to attend on a date two days after my checkout. Thankfully, the cruise provider saw the hotel error and was accommodating in having me on board. The hotel when advised said 'oops, oh well at least you got on. Overall, I would suggest to avoid this place and choose better and closer hotels in this lovely city.

We visited this hotel for five nights with friends. The location is fantastic- 2 minute walk to bus, train and tram station. The rooms are big and bright and spotlessly clean. The staff are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a ten minute train journey into Amsterdam it 20 minutes on the bus. We will deffo return

Being two nights in a week end in Amsterdam, then as one can imagine the hotel was nicely full. One just need to watch the breakfast room with few available table. The hotel is localized near the metro station overAmstel. The room are nice and clean, the bathroom and rest room as well. The employee are available and nice (reception, bar, and restaurant).

Stayed here in February with my daughter for three nights. Lovely hotel, very comfortable bed and pillows, nice room though a little small. Fab shower and bathroom. Restaurant lovely, ate here on our first night had a very nice burger and fries and my daughter had the carbonnara. Service excellent. A little shop that's open 24hrs is available though its quite expensive to buy water, peanuts, danish etc. Overamstel metro station approx 10 minute walk away and a 10 minute train journey and your in the centre of Amsterdam. I would definitely stay here again when back in Amsterdam. Thank you!

This is at metro stop Overamstel train station, so pretty quick walk along canal. Take 51 to Central Station for downtown. Breakfast was great, I loved the cheese section. The croissants were perfect. The decor is very modern and refreshing. You can take a boat from hotel at 9:30 am to Heineken experience tour. Checking in early was NOT an option. We did have dinner there and be prepared to hunt the staff down to get service. Staff is very religious about rules and not very good at out of the box thinking. Daughter had upset stomach and they were quick to recite rules and reluctant to offer suggestions - ie how to get to a pharmacy, could we get baking soda from kitchen.... Anyway it might be me, as I am solution oriented. Nice patio by canal - check it out.

The location of the hotel is not near the center of the city. I remember paying Uber driver around £26 from Damrak square to the hotel. The lobby of the hotel exudes business-like, no-frills but friendly ambience. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-equipped. The receptionists at the lobby are very much approachable and accommodating with all our requests—very precise, fast and reliable service from our receptionists, i must say. The male receptionist even gave a toy to my baby daughter, helped us out with our luggages when we are about to leave the airport, weighing each one of them while they were in the storage room. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. They have a well-stocked shop, in case you need anything like drinks, chips, sandwiches, cookies, coffee, microwavable food. You can use the microwave for free and eat at the lobby, in case you just want to eat a light meal. Just one thing i have observed and i thought is very important for all our travels abroad. They dont have a service for guests for their luggages to be delivered to our rooms. When we arrived from our three-week family vacation and we are about 5 family members, carrying a lot of suitcases and me carrying my baby and stuff, i asked if we can be helped out with our luggages as I was holding my baby. i was told they dont have that kind of service and just gave me a trolley cart which was weird coz even a small hotel in the rural area of Spain and Greece would help you out with your luggages. If you just came from a long flight and you are tired especially with a small baby, you would appreciate it if you dont have to bring your luggages all the way up to your room. This added service could have improved customer satisfaction and would be a plus to your hotel, it being an Accor-hotel. Other than that detail, the hotel is commendable.

We decided on this hotel due to our Le Club Accor membership and the added benefits that are offered to members. The hotel was very nice and we were given an upgrade on our room at check in. However we were not offered discounts on food in the restaurant and after asking 3 times for access to the premium Wi-Fi, which was included, we still did not receive this. Overall the hotel was nice but apart from the room upgrade, none of the premium member benefits were offered which was disappointing.
