Slightly worried by other reviews but we were very pleased with standards and amenities. Great quiet well designed room. Reception staff were kind and very helpful with advice, directions etc. We need to return and will return to stay in the Mercure hotel. Great weekend break.
Absolutely amazing! From where the hotel is located (right next to the train station) to the fantastic sky restaurant with amazing views! The food was to die for and the staff very friendly. The rooms were modern and warm. Would defo recommend!
Just outside city center, view on the Amstel river. Check in could be easier, even with the fast check in it takes to long .... I had to ask for my complementary drink myself, as silver Accor member ! Desk staff should at least know who is coming in and look up the customers information
The Mercure Amsterdam City is a clean, modern business hotel member of the Mercure chain. A 'business hotel' in Europe means a small room but perfectly well appointed. Not luxurious but highly functional. My room had two twin beds with a shower but no tub. There is a coffee maker and refrigerator in the room. On the lobby floor there is a breakfast buffet restaurant, a dinner restaurant, a bar, and a small food shop. There is also a gym in the hotel although I didn't use it. We arrived on a red-eye flight from the US and got to the hotel around 8am. The desk clerk told us that we could pay an extra 30 Euros and have access to our rooms earlier than the normal 3pm. That was a great option. The hotel is not far from the RAI congress hall--about 30min walk. There are often cabs out front in the morning or you can easily call an Uber. The hotel also has a shuttle bus that takes you to the nearest Metro station. All in all, a good value and a reasonable place to stay.
Mercure Hotel a good option, good price, the price is without breakfast but in room you have all you need to make a coffee, tea. Big room, clean and very nice room view. The hotel is ten minutes on foot from the Overamstel metro station and you go strait to the central station of Amsterdam.
Stayed for a weekend in before Christmas. We walked from the Metro station, about 10 minute walk but have to cross some strange main roads to get there. I found the hotel to be very modern and I liked the dark, cosy decor. The staff were very attentive and welcoming and also very helpful. The room was very small but again modern and cosy. There was no bath, only a shower, but it was spacious and had an overhead and handheld shower in there. This was a nice touch. I didn't like the fact that only a sliding door separated the room and the bathroom and felt it should of had an actual door. I also felt the room lacked a mirror in the bedroom area, it's always good if there is one above the desk, if one person wants to do their make up and someone is in the bathroom. Having said that, there was a brilliant light up, extendable mirror in the bathroom that was good for doing your make-up lol. The bed was large and comfortable and a good selection of channel's on the tv. In the morning a boat runs from the back of the hotel along the canal to the city. This is very nice but it only runs once a day. It's about 10 minutes by cab to the city & costs about 15€. Not too bad as we didn't want to faff around with buses and trains. They have a shop on site but feel it is lacking in things like sandwiches or food items, such as pastries. I would have liked to have grabbed something light the morning of our departure, but they only had stuff like crisps and there is no shops near by although I due see a petrol and not too far away. All in all, this is a great hotel, in a decent location and I would stay again.
Great match of price, service and location. The rooms are small but the overall experience was just great. This hotel is located at a small all Amsterdamian quaint street just next to Prinsengracht and minutes away from the Rijksmuseum. Far enough from the crazy redlight district and close to other tourist attractions.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 night and it was really nice. Is was not too far from the centre of Amsterdam and you just need to walk a few minutes to get to nearest station. Staff are really helpfull and I will probably go back in this hotel if I m going back to Amsterdam. Plus the price is not too expensive
Hotel room was the best thing that happened to us on the 1st day of our arrival to Netherlands. (Thanks to tall blond hair male receptionist that cheer us up that day! You rock!) Room was clean, light, quiet. Hotel is located about 15-20min walk from main tram stop to city center.
Stayed here for 3 night in early January and got a great price for a business room. And got a room upgrade upon check in. Third time staying here as it’s not too far from central Amsterdam (metro 51 from Overamstel)! Rooms very nice and modern, with a great big shower, massive bed and tv. Room had complimentary nespresso coffee and soft drinks that were restocked every day. Hotel is very easy to get to from Schiphol, train from there to Amsterdam Zuid then a couple stops on the metro. Will be staying here again for my next time in Amsterdam !
