Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City4.0 out of 5.0

Recently visited here with my wife. Had zero complaints. Staff were great and professional. Hotel very clean and well looked after. Only thing is when booking this hotel we was under the impression that it was close to the centre of Amsterdam, which to be honest it wasn't! Having said that it wouldn't stop me staying again 😊 if you want a taxi take an uber they are miles cheaper and a lot faster!
Unfortunately prepaid online reservation-hot box as no cold air. Room temp in 90’s even with the window open. And it’s in the 40’s outside? Rooms are very small as in crackerbox style. Could not sleep - and, due to business conference limited hotels available. I would not recommend.
Yes i recommend this hotel, in first steps before entering in the hotel everything clean and the reception staff very friendly. We stay three days 3d - 6th of November and rooms lobby and the bar in first was amazing. Metro was near hotel 7 min walking, and to go at the center need Metro M 51. 5-6 till center. Thanks the staff for the accommodation.
We stayed at this hotel for my birthday in July for 3 nights. It’s out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the city so that was a plus for us but it’s a 5 minute walk to the tram station which will take you into the city in 20 mins. Our room was really modern with a big comfy bed, amazing shower and a coffee machine which was a nice little touch. The fridge was stocked with water and cans of juice and fizzy pop and this was replenished every day which was really nice as the time that we went it was extremely hot. The staff were lovely and friendly from what we saw of them but this wasn’t much as we didn’t eat in the restaurant or drink in the bar. Check in was quick as easy. For what we paid this hotel was a steal, we would definitely come back when returning to Amsterdam.
When we arrived at the hotel check in was very easy and the staff were very welcoming. We were on the 14th floor of the B tower block which I liked because of the views they were amazing. Our room was lovely, clean, tidy and very modern, fridge also in the room which was good. The bathroom was also good too and had everything we needed. One thing I would say is takeaway coffee cups to make your tea in the morning was a bit strange would of been nice with a proper mug. The was my only complaint though :) Hotel bar was really nice and a few good choices of cocktails on the menu which we were more than happy to try :) The shop there was open 24/7 which was handy and there was also a vending machine on the 1st floor which was good. The metro station was a 5min stroll away (Overamstel) which a 10min ride on there took us straight into the centre. Didn’t mind that at all as the weather was lovely. When we checked out we were able to leave our bags in a secure room as we didn’t fly till the evening so it’s nice to know you didn’t have to worry about lugging that round with you. All in all would definitely return to this hotel again when we come back. Perfect location for us as not to loud and busy.
No classic reception desk, but a couple of separate desks. The purpose is to have a more intimate customer contact. I was there the night before the Amsterdam TCS Marathon. The hotel prepared the evening before a special pasta buffet for the runners. Nice hotel, well maintained and clean. A walking distance from the metro station. If you come by car, the hotel is at the very end of the A2
Hotel should allow early Check-in, instead of asking customers to wait till 2PM. Paid early Check-in charges to get room. I was travelling for almost 10 hours and with jetlag, there was no other alternative than to pay early check-in charges. Restaurant is very Good and have friendly staff.
Stayed here for 5 nights earlier this month with 8 other friends. Staff were great in accommodating all of us on the same floor. Rooms were on the smaller side but modern and well kept, in room safe a plus and rain shower was amazing. Buffet breakfast if prepaid is worth it, pretty extensive choices. 7 min walk from the nearest metro station and there is free drop off from 7-10:30 every morning. No problems or concerns during our stay.
Gr8 hotel and positioned on the water allowing direct access by boat into centre of Amsterdam. Good facilities, very polite staff. Would recommend if not wishing to stay right in the heart of Amsterdam. Stayed with Trafalgar tours October 2017
Lovely clean hotel, room size perfect, with safe, coffee and tea etc. The staff make this hotel and were friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do more for me, very impressed. Location was fine for a business function in the hotel, but I wouldn’t stay here if I was sightseeing in Amsterdam as it felt quite a long way out by taxi.
