I stayed here for 3 nights with my fiancé and we found the hotel met all our needs. I requested a room overlooking the garden as it was quieter and was given a choice of the first or 4th floor. The room was clean, bedding and bathroom spotless and everything worked as it should. Yes the furnishings were a little dated, the wallpaper had the odd mark but as we were out all of the time we only used the room to wash, change and sleep it didn’t bother us at all. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and we had some good chats with the night manager when we returned. Location is brilliant, catch the 397 bus from the airport, cross the road and it is a few minutes away around the corner. All the sights and attractions are an easy walk and the area felt safe.
Good if your just needing somewhere to sleep and wash! Hotel staff were pleasant but quiet, the entrance and garden were the most updated/ modern part. Our room was very basic, big enough for the three of us. However there wasn’t anything other than bathroom and beds as the tv was broke, hair dryer was rubbish chairs and table were broke aswell. The shower however was hot and the bathroom was clean. Beds were surprisingly very comfy, and fresh sheets every other day Breakfast was ok, very basic but was cooked well Would return if I was going for the city / culture not the hotel
Great hotel, clean and tidy. Staff was excellent, 24-hour reception. 10 minutes walk from museums, 15 to town, also right on the tram route. Breakfast served daily between 7:30 and 11 A.M, consisting of continental and English style. 10/10 so good my parents have just booked for a week.
I stayed in this hotel April 2018.I knew It was 3*, okay priced in comparison to other places considering it was Easter holidays and close to Leidseplein in the city centre. That's the only positives. In my opinion....it was not great and with the price of 2 nights at 180 pounds without breakfast, you are really only paying for the location. The main reception and bar area was nice enough. However, it was a bit run down, stank of cigarettes and other 'stuff' which yes being in Amsterdam you would expect but not at 9am in the morning. The room I had was a single on the top 4th floor and I would not recommend anyone staying on this floor. Hundreds of pigeons were clearly living in the attic and constantly made noise. It was horrid! The shower had no real pressure. I also had an incident with the hairdryer. I used it in the morning and it literally blew up in my hand. I called up and someone did come up promising to replace it by the time I came in from my day out. It wasn't replaced but it was removed. I couldn't be bothered to complain so maybe that's my fault. It's fine for people who don't really care about where they stay and aren't too bothered but not for me.
Me and my Girlfriend decided to spend another New Years in Amsterdam ! We choose this hotel as it was cheap and close to the town. Highly recommended! Clean, cheap, relaxed atmosphere, we’ve had big bed which we loved and bathroom had a bath which was a nice touch to our holiday. Staff very friendly and relaxed.
Clean, high ceiling, full high windows, comfy beds, good shower pressure and hot water, daily maid service, good breakfast at reasonable price, helpful staff. Crazy layout, good location next to tram to central station and main square in 10 minutes.
Now where do I start, im not sure how anyone can seriously rate this hotel *hostel* any higher than a 1 I do not know, the mind boggles!! This was our first trip to Amsterdam and on first look we were pleased to be in a good location, even the downstairs of the hotel looked ok, We were first given room 304, got up there and the door didnt shut as it had been kicked in clearly, so we went back down and was informed they knew about it, why they still gave us the room im unsure!! anyway they gave us 305, we went back up there and as soon as we opened the door I couldnt believe what I saw, the room is filthy, stained, broken down and no way on earth deserves a 3 star!! I have never stayed in such a terrible hotel, I said to my husband it looks like a hostel. upon further investigation everywhere is filthy, the safe was barely holding onto the wall, the hairdryer is situated over by the sink!! the weirdest wardrobe with a contraption I can only describe as a makeshift chair in there. When you have a shower the water turns cold, the walls are paper thin, literally kept awake most of the night with a few lads next door who sounded like they were in the same room as us, it was that loud, obviously alot of traffic noise but thats not down to the hotel, you expect that. someone else on here previously reviewed this room and said there was a funny looking poo stain in the toilet that woudlnt go away, the hotel replied on their comment and said it was now gone!! I can confirm it's still there!!! there was a bogey stain on the wall, the list is endless, The photos on the easyjet website in no way shape or form show just how much of a dive this place really is, and for the amount of money we paid I expected a hell of alot more, just to be clean would be a start. all the cleaners do everyday is come in and make the bed, job done!! We enjoyed Amsterdam on a whole but would never EVER stay at this hotel again, god knows where all their money goes but it certainly isnt on the hotel rooms, the whole place stank of weed, general dirtiness and a hint of piss!! Honestly please save yourself the disappointment and book somewhere else. im so glad we only just this room as a base because I did dread coming back to it everynight. photos are attached.
Basic clean hotel in a great location, good value for money, really pretty garden outside, we had our rooms all on the same floor which was really good as there was a few of us staying, room was cleaned every day which was nice, only one bad point was we didn’t have any hot water one morning, apart from that it was a brilliant holiday! Big thanks to Moh for chatting to us on our last night at the bar and answering all of our questions about Amsterdam :)
Staying here for 2 nights and wat van I say lovley hotel and very friendly staff nothing is to much trouble for them rooms quiet small but very clean would defo come back so friendly .20 mins walk to the main square but a lovley walk and taxis and trams run past very frequently . Loads to do in Amsterdam and the people are very friendly
I planned a trip to Amsterdam with some friends, we decided on this hotel as it’s in a great location and the rooms looked good. However, when we arrived we were told we all had attic rooms... Not good!! It turned out these were not the rooms we had seen when booking the trip, after speaking to the reception staff we managed to swap our rooms after our first night, which we were very happy with. This is a good hotel, just make sure you’re getting what you pay for!!
