The mattress was concave and not comfortable. It must be a cheap one or very old. Having said that, it was a very functional hotel. The free hot beverages 24/7 come in handy for such a damp city!

The hotel overall was good for what I paid , that said it's not worth the full price. The rooms were very small, but livable for one to two people. The staff was friendly, but I did feel as if I was a bother if I wanted to go out past 10 and be let back in the hotel via buzzer later in the night. The breakfast is €9.50 and not included with the room which I found to be odd, and for €9.50 not at all worth it. Internet access is very odd and for 24 hrs of quality WiFi it costs €22 a day! The location really can't be beat and if you can this place for cheap it us worth the stay simply due to location.

The rooms are quite small, and the duoble bed is too soft, but the location is great and you have everithing you need. It provides free coffee and tea all day. Free wifi is limited to 256kbps, it is enough for facebook and emails, but too slow for watching online videos.

This hotel is just fine if you don't need any extra frills and are looking for a decent budget hotel. My room (single compact) was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Phone, hair dryer, flat screen TV. The room was well cleaned every day. The location is very good as many of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. The front desk staff not very friendly but will give needed info when asked. There is a continental breakfast available for 9.5 euros but seemed overpriced compared to what is available nearby in more charming surroundings.

Great location , very friendly stuff ,very easy in and out , average breakfast , rooms are small but clean , great value for the price !!

The rooms here are TINY. Very very tiny. Basically it was a bed in a room with about six inches of space around it. There was no room for two people much less the luggage we brought!! Breakfast was also incredibly overpriced, seek your meals on the street But it's in a pretty good location and the staff was very friendly and nice.

Very good location. No comp on the breakfast. so be sure to add it. secure area. wi-fi not very good at this location. so don't rely on this location to supply your wireless needs. no american outlets. so make sure you bring a euro charger. lovely staff, who are very helpful. clean, and simple. super location. bus stops right in front of building, and pick up is right around the corner. anything and everything is within walking distance.

The hotel staff, especially Melissa at the front desk was extremely helpful. Small rooms but worth the stay.

Room small, but very clean, near eveything, very pleasant staff. Marvelous coffee and cappuccino! Very nice to tourists trying to find their way around on a first visit.

Location is excellent--within walking distance of the various museums and shopping. Tram lines galore in the immediate neighborhood but be sure to check out information on the new "O-V Chipkaart" which will allow you to travel on public conveyance--tram, bus and railroad--at a very reasonable price. Hotel is small but comfortable if all you want to do is sleep. Cleanliness was so-so with attention to floors/carpets needed. Breakfast was great, but NOT included in the price, which was disappointing. Costs an additional 12 Euros per day and that's NOT worth it given the price of the hotel room in the first place. Staff was helpful and friendly--even saved me some money by recommending use of this versus that. From all indications, this hotel was frequented by professional (not young people) which reduces night time door slamming, etc. A good stay!

I'm glad I did an upgrade on the bed and room size in the Eden Theatre District Hotel when I was booking this trip. Otherwise I might have needed a shoe horn to get into the room. But I knew fully well that this was not a luxury suite, simply a room to sleep and take a shower. The room was clean, on the inner courtyard and therefore exceptionally quiet. Yet, itwas right on the edge of het Leidseplein, one of the most convenient locations in the heart of Amsterdam. The breakfast (E10.50) is solid and tasty. The hotel is just steps away from the tram lines that get you all over the city. So, if you can stand a small room, as well as a small shower, then this is the place to stay.

This 3 star hotel is in perfect location, 5 minute walk to Leidesplein, the Bulldog, the Holland Casino and a slightly longer walk to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. Also it's within walking diistance of the Anne Frank House, though it's about a 1.2 km walk down Prinzengracht. All attractions are very well sign-posted around the city. The hotel was clean and comfortable and I would most definitely stay there again. Good value for the money.

A great location in a perfect zone. Small and comfortable room. Very warm attention from the staff. Recomended to book breakfast in advance to get a 30% off in the price per person. Soap & Doccia Gel from a recognized Hollander brand name.

We stayed for four nights, so had plenty of time to evaluate the facilities. While clean, the room is probably the smallest I've ever stayed in and it was difficult for two people to occupy space at the same time. Some staff members were able to recommend places for dinner, others suggested we walk around the corner and see what was available. The hotel is close to Leidseplein, which is a major tourist hub, but not close enough that the crowds and noise are a problem. Oh, and if you order anything from the bar, you will find there is a 50% "service charge." So spend wisely.

Pretty nice hotel, great location (3 blocks from Leidspeiln Square and the American) FREE CAPPICIONOS!!!I can't shout about this more...delicious coffee any time of the day or night, fresh ground for each cup...room was small, but typical for hotels in the city (it's and old city...the hotels are converted old buildings...)This one has an elevator (albeit the SMALLEST eleavator I've ever encountered...)many places don't have the great feature...the stairs are so narrow in these buildings they move in using the original hooks on the front of the buildings...so think about how nice the elevator is ;o)

It took us a while to find our hotel. We checked our bags and explored the city. When we got back, room was ready, gentleman at the desk was a little snooty. Room was small - two twin beds and a tiny bathroom. The shower was tiny - my (new) husband is a big guy - if he turned around the wrong way, he hit the faucet with his hip and the hot water was scalding in a second. Wasn't much room, but it was clean and comfortable. When we left later than night, the girl at the front desk was much nicer and gave us some great city info and maps. Close to Leidesplein and the Canal Tour.

The location was excellent, near Leidseplein, which has a number of great restaurants, bars and coffeeshops. The hotel was good, clean and a little bit small, but no more than would be expected for the reasonable prices. Decent bed, decent shower, decent location; all you need, really, if you're not planning on spending too much time abed.

The hotel is in a great location close to many attractions in Amsterdam, even though the rooms are small as in most European hotels the location more than makes up for it. The room was decent a little worn with stains on carpet but not bad. There is free wi/fi in the lobby of the hotel but if you require internet in your room then you pay a steep daily rate. Breakfast at the hotel is also about 15 Euro's for muffins, bread, cheese & juices, you are better off going to the many near by cafe's and grabbing a bite for half the price and better food. The only deal breaker for me was the mix up in our room, we were suppose to have a room with 2 beds and instead we had to sure one small bed for a week, the Hotel did not really seem to care about the problem and just stated they had no more rooms with 2 beds that were available. I checked everyday for 4 days but then gave up. So if you make reservation make sure you triple check and and confirm the type of room you want and number of beds. I have stayed here 3 times prior, but next time I think I will try other hotels in the area. Overall its a decent place in a great location.

The staff was very helpful. However, they needed to be reminded to get our taxi to return to the airport.

We choose this hotel based on it's location, the pictures on-line, and the price. The only good thing that i can say about this hotel is that it's in a good location. It's close to everything. The staff was friendly as well. However, I feel that the hotel pictures and descriptions are deceiving. This isn't a hotel. It's more of a dormatory, only you have your own bathroom. The pictures are deceiving too. While the rooms have all the furniture that the pictures show, the rooms are filthy. There are stains on the carpets, on the curtains, on the linens, everywhere. It didn't even look like they changed the linens because when we pulled back the covers, we found a couple of hairs on the pillows, on the towels, on the bathroom floor, etc. After seeing this, we had to check the bed for bedbugs (which I've never done at a hotel before). The showers are also very small. They are the same showers you could find on a cruiseline. The shower is basically a 3x3 space, with no room to move and water spills everywhere in the entire floor. There is also no a/c or air ventatlation in the room. The room is musty and smelled like an attic. The hotel did provide fans, however, the fans just blow the hot musty air around. Over all, the room was disgusting and I would never stay here again. Advice, pay a little more and stay at a better hotel. There are several up the same street. If you do stay here, spend as little time in the room as possible.
