Cordial Hotel Dam Square

As good as a cheap(er) hotel can get. Central location means we could do more within walking distance. We had a double room for 2 adults and a toddler. We requested for a queen bed but was given 2 singles joined. Our toddler was pretty much half sunken into the gap between mattresses in the morning. Wifi is not great. Use the park and ride for cheap parking and take a train & tram in.

Had a good stay rooms could do with a full refurb bathroom was recently refurbished and was pretty decent, on a road which is direct to Amsterdam Central Station (15 - 20 mins walk) close to Madame Tussauds, Riley's "Believe IT Or Not", 15 mins walk to Red Light District. Hotel staff good and polite.

We stayed here for 3 nights & it wasn't cheap so you'd at least expect it to be clean....it was disgusting!! The bedding was dirty, the walls were dirty, the beds...each time we moved our seriously thin mattress moved with us so we didn't sleep very well at all. Our view..that really was something else, we got to look at a bricked up courtyard with boarded up windows so don't stay in room 302!!! All carpets were filthy on the landings. If you ask me this hotel needs closing to be painted & new carpets & new MATTRESSES!!! Would I ever stay here again...DEFINITELY NOT

Stayed here for the weekend while visiting Amsterdam, was very close to Amsterdam Central, Dam Square and other popular site seeing locations. The hotel staff was very nice and assisted wit purchasing my Hop on Hop off passes and were very helpful and pleasant. Room was small but then again was just there to sleep so it was perfect for what I needed. Room was very clean as well. The only thing that I can say about this hotel that I wasn't pleased with was that it stated that it has Free Wifi, however the only place you could really access it was in the Lobby, didn't have good connection in the room, may want to find a way to broaden the reach throughout the hotel, otherwise it was a great place, highly recommend and would def stay there again.

we got the small double which was fine for us as a couple. bed comfy, shower room clean, no complaints really. Location is amazing so handy in the heart of amsterdam right next to dam square, reception and staff friendly. Breakfast was rubbish but from experience it is in most hotels in amsterdam, but location friendliness of staff and facilities and room all more than make up for it.

Smallest twin room i have ever stayed in, Only 2 bath towels, no hand, nothing for floor, got a strange look when we asked for more. House keeping only involved making beds , dirty glasses left in room all time, no tea or coffee replaced, when we got there we only had 1 coffee and 1 empty coffee. 3 coat hangers, one small wardrobe and nowhere to put anything. Very noisy room at front, in my opinion very expensive over 200 euro / night, well over priced. Breakfast, no were to sit, no eggs left, had to ask 3 times for butter. Never again, sorry Cordial, just saying how it is!!!

Not acceptable standard regarding the price (more than 220 euro pr night.). More than worn out towels, hard bed, curtains falling down. Will not recommend it. There are many hotels to choose between in the area.

Horrific experience. As we entered this suposedly a three-star hotel, we were greeted by the smell of the takeout Chinese cuisine. The concierge was amicable (the only positive first note to this place). We came into a very tiny room with old furniture, poor quality bedding and (do NOT believe the pictures you see on the website) with very poor cleaning of the room. Extremely tiny bathrooms. No bar in the room. The safe was broken. No breakfast included. When inquired about extra towels, the conceirge opened the shelf on the corner of his desk and handed us a towel (seriously, no hygiene in this place). When inquired about the pillows, we were told that only two pillows are the limit to one room and they have no extra ones (seriously!!!). Unprofessional and ignorant staff. Additionally, upon our departure we asked if we could get our luggage from the closet, we were told by the conceirge to get it ourselves (and this is a three star hotel). It was a very unpleasant experience and would NEVER recommend it to anyone. The price for this hotel is ridicoulsly expensive and not worth a penny. If you have a desire to experience hostel/hotel, this is the right place.

We chose this hotel because of its location. 20 min by walk from train station (trains ti airport). 10 min by walk from all cool cafes, Red Light District and all other tourist attractions. The room was alright, small but very clean. Room service was good. This hotel is cheap and great for travelers who need just to leave their luggage and have a bed for a night. We liked it.

This hotel is really only good for the location unfortunately. Although the room was relatively clean and the bed was fairly comfy, it was just so tiny. The bathroom door was unable to be opened fully due to the size, it hits the bed. When in the bathroom you literally feel like you have no privacy at all as it is flush to the bed, I just hope you feel comfortable with who you are staying with! When sitting in the toilet if you straighten your legs out, they will be in the shower!, tiny bathroom as well as the room. The walls had stains on them. The bedding was of poor quality & the main mattress was absolutely filthy with so many stains and even had blood on it!, there is another thinner mattress on top creating a barrier from the main one, otherwise I would have immediately asked to change rooms. I felt almost claustrophobic in here and felt like I couldn't breath at times as it was so stuffy. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on that. Tiny towels provided and only two per room and a bath mat. 2 pillows only, we had to asked for more of each, reception told us no, but we asked house keeping who gave them to us. Front of house were moody and we were never greeted by anyone. One man was very helpful and friendly when we booked tickets to the tulip fields though, he has glasses and small black. plug earrings, he was very nice. I wouldn't book this hotel again, the location really was the only good thing going for it.
