Location is really the only bonus with this hotel.. we arrived in our room do discover a bed and barely enough walking space to get around it! The bathroom door hit the bed when opened.. bed was reasonably comfortable and shower/ toilet was new and very clean... but after getting over the size of the room the rest of the upkeep in hotel was poor .. dirty walls and dirty carpets.. breakfast also not great.. wont be back again...

If your looking for a cheap / cheerful / great location hotel , this is your hotel. Plus sides : location was great , walking distance to all the main attractions Dam Sq / Red light / Coffee shops / markets etc. Easy to get to.. 10/15 min walk from Central St or get a tram for €5 No.24 outside the Central St. Negative Sides: We paid for a small double ensuite room and boy did we get one ! That said, 2/3 nights in a small double room was enough. If your staying longer get the bigger room. Lot of traffic / street noise that filters up from the main St outside. You can hear everything ! But , like the size of the room , younger used to it !! Breakfast was €8 each which was nothing special. Next time , I wouldn't bother with the breakfast. Go to the tulip markets and find studio 2 Great breakfast from €9!! Would I return to the Cordial .. yes but would bring ear plugs , the great location makes up for all the bad points to be 100% honest. Not a fancy hotel but Amsterdam hot spots are a stones throw from this hotel

This hotel was perfectly situated for accessing all attractions. Comfortable bed, very clean room, tea and coffee facilities. Reception staff very friendly, we arrived a little early but as the room was available, we were allowed to check in. We would definitely book this hotel again and I have no problem with recommending it to anyone else.

The staff were good, unobtrusive and answered any question we had. The location is so amazingly central to Amsterdam. The room was a little small but clean and neat, good furnishings and we lucked out with a quiet room. No view to speak of, but we were looking out into a small alley on one side. The whole "leave a keycard in the holder" to get electricity (by the door) was new to us but didn't present a problem other than needing to sacrifice a card during the day when charging electronics while we were out. But not really a hardship. Quiet, quiet, quiet. It was actually a little surprising considering its location. I will say this staying in central Amsterdam has its issues. It can be very crowded on the streets and a lot of tourist places specifically tailoring to people's idea of what Amsterdam is supposed to be gets in the way of seeing the real Amsterdam - do some walking. But the location allows you to easily skip out on those areas and head out into the wider city.

There was electricity issue and we had no power at the room. Also, they wasn't refund us the Money for the night that we didn't enjoy from the room facilities. I will never back that place + recommend not to made my mistake Never back there

We stayed here in September and this being my first time in Amsterdam, I couldn't have chosen a better hotel. Firstly for the central location - this hotel is right in the centre of Amsterdam and a 10 minute walk from the train station so was perfect for us. If we went out for a walk in the morning we could come back get changed and head back out again without having a get a taxi or tram. The hotel staff were very friendly and recommended some places for us to visit which was very useful. The decor was fine and the ensuing ensuite bathroom was huge! The room was clean although not spotless. The towels and sheets had some marks on them. The bed was also two singles pushed together but the mattresses were at different heights which was fine for us but may be an issues for couples. Myself and my friend had a great girls weekend away and none of that mattered to us. The hotel is opposite some great bars and right next to the shops so perfect for shopping in the day and getting back home after some drinks on the night. For a centrally based hotel with an ensuite the price was very reasonable - we didn't opt for breakfast but if you wanted to add this on it was €8 a day I believe. We did manage to find a couple of English programmes on the TV which was also a bonus! There is tea and coffee making facilities provided and a hairdryer in the bathroom as well as a free safe. Overall I would definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone looking for a short stay in Amsterdam.

While the room was clean, the furnishing nice and the location good - the bed was smelly, the A/C didnt work leaving the room stuffy. And forget opening the windows with the noise of foot traffic and smoking through the entire night.

My partner and I stayed at the Cordial for 2 nights in what is described as a deluxe double room. Like other reviews on here, we found it was two single beds pushed together and therefore had a big dip in the middle which was impossible to not keep rolling into. The room itself was decent enough but could do with a lick of paint and possibly some drawers. The towels had seen better days too, they were as thin as paper and a bit like cardboard. We paid over £250 for 2 nights which was a bit steep for the standard of hotel but I guess we were paying for the location which is excellent, the red light district and Dam Square was only a few hundred yards to the left and Rembrandt Square only a few hundred yards to the right.

I booked this hotel for a long weekend and ignored the bad reviews and I'm so glad I did, as I found the hotel to be a little gem in the heart of the city. You could not find a better location as you are steps away from Dam Square, yet it is still surprisingly quiet at night. Air conditioning and safe are free which was great. Most rooms in Amsterdam are small and so was this one, however it was definitely big enough for two and even had a sofa. The room was clean and modern and we found the beds to be very comfortable. The maid came to clean, make the beds and provide fresh towels every day. The reception staff were always friendly. Negative points: - The wifi is only in the lobby - The soap dispenser didn't dispense much soap for us (It might have just needed filling) - We could have done with more than two bath towels eg. a hand towel and a bath mat However, these points are really minor if you're just using the hotel as a place to rest your head. If you are out exploring the city most of the day these things aren't particularly important so I definitely recommend this hotel. I believe it's the best value you'll find considering the fantastic location.

booked a queen bed and was given 2 single beds in which the beds were coming apart, even though I questioned the receptionist about this booking in which he told me I had definitely booked 2 single beds, myself and my husband both had lop bites from this hotel and would not advise anyone unless they are very very desperate to ever stay here. what a horrible hotel and receptionist was not very nice with an attitude.
