I can not personally relate to the any of the number of bad complaints visible on trip advisor for this hotel! Yes the hotel isn't what people would usually class as 'luxurious' but it made for a wonderful trip for my partner and I! It was in the perfect area for us about a 2 minute walk from Dam Square so very central which is what we desired although it did mean a little bit of noise from the busy street. Upon arrival, the man at the main reception was incredibly friendly, welcoming and informative. He spoke very good English which was good for my partner and I, and the check in experience as a whole was incredibly easy. We received the password for the free wifi which worked rather well. We were very pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. It was rather on the smaller size but it a perfect size for two people. Good size TV with many channels, including English. Very clean room and bathroom with spacious and powerful shower. Hair-dryer hand soap and hair/body wash provided. Bed was very spacious and comfortable! The room also included tea/coffee, safety deposit box, plenty of closet space, two bedside tables and multiple varied plug sockets. We did not choose to go to breakfast in the hotel so can not comment on that. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to return to the Cordial Hotel in the near future! :)

Was a bit worried about this before arriving having seen some of the recent reviews but after visiting I cannot complain about my stay at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful, free good wifi, I stayed here with two other couples and all of our rooms looked exactly like the photos we had seen before arriving- admittedly our room was kind of small but didn't negatively impact us whatsoever (what else can you expect from a cheap hotel in Amsterdam!), the beds were very comfy and the location was amazing, literally a two minute walk from Dam Square and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Not luxury but was a perfect little place to come back to after spending all day exploring, would not hesitate booking here again for my next break to Amsterdam!

Fantastic location and simple to get to from the train station as it's just one straight walk. Hotel rooms are very small and dark. We didn't spend much time in the room, so this wasn't a problem for us. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed out stay.

Stayed here with my friend for 3 nights. It was quick and easy to check in, but our room was a 'small double room' and was literally that. Just a very small box and bathroom. This was okay for us as we weren't spending much time in the hotel at all, but don't book if you want luxury! Sufficed for what we needed, although the hair dryer was broken. Staff were really friendly and helpful! This hotel is also very central and next to the dam square so we thought that was great.

This Hotel was rubbish. There was a draft coming through the window and the window was locked, very cold room. Bedding was stained and the bed was very itchy. I'm not a fussy person I only went for 2 nights but I would never go there again. My friends booked other hotels locally and around the same price and their hotels were so much better. If you boom this hotel you will regret it even if you think you are only staying there for 1 night. Don't waste your money loads more hotels locally

This is possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in. It is rundown, dirty with rooms no bigger than a broom cupboard. Heating not working - had to move rooms then was told to keep electricity costs low it could only be on for 6 hours. It was below zero outside. Please - do not bother!! Other hotels nearby for same price but much better!!

This is by far the worst hotel I've every stayed in (I've travelled a lot and stayed at cheap hotels, luxury hotels, boutique, hostels, etc). Rooms are incredibly tiny and uncomfortable. Room is unclean, very disgusting sheets and thin towels. The hotel is NOT cheap and has somewhat positive reviews which is why I thought it would be a good idea, plus it has a prime location, however this hotel is filthy (feels like a motel). STAY AWAY.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a two night trip in march. The hotel is in a really good location where everything is easy to locate and normally about 10/15 minute walk away. As it's in the centre of Amsterdam we found many restaurants and bars to go to so we were happy! Only fault we had was the fact our heating didn't work so our room was very cold at times and also it could be quite noisy at night but that's to be expected for a hotel in the centre. Other than that we were very happy and would probably stay here again!

Not a bad stay at this hotel, stayed for 2 nights, middle of Feb. Friendly staff, good location, easy to locate and get to and from everything. Tram stops less than 1 minute walk from the hotel. Clean and tidy rooms. A few downsides, just being realistic...... The rooms are on the small side, they are quite small, smaller than they look in the pictures. The heating didn’t work in room 104. It was like an ice box. Spoke to receptionist who told us they put it on, he then did but the room got colder. Extremely colder. You only get one pillow each on the bed (fair enough) ask for one extra was advised they didn’t do this and didn’t give out extras to customers. Which I’ve never been to a hotel that doesn’t. All in all, not a bad stay, not a bad price, not a bad location (just cold and small)

I was a bit nervous staying here after I read the reviews but everything was fine. The room had its own heating which we could switch on and off as we liked, bed was made and fresh towels everyday , the pillows were a little uncomfortable but apart from that, I enjoyed the stay. The rooms were modern and the hotel was right around the corner from everything and the staff were friendly. perfect for a place to stay if you are looking for a good location.
