Bed & Breakfast Barrio

This establishment is in the centre of the city, within walking distance of the Central Railway Station and numerous bars, restaurants, shops and "coffee bars". Staff are polite and helpful, rooms are small but clean. Breakfast (in the room) is substantial. Trams and buses to museums and other tourist attractions are close by. Prices are very high, but maybe that's just Amsterdam.

Beautiful location, most of central Amsterdam is within a 5 to 20 walk ( stroll) We came two day early for a canal cruise with Avalon Waterways. Arrived at Central Station from the air port and headed out on foot toward the B&B due to road construction we did need to ask directions. Edson welcomed us, helped us with our bags. You must read there web site for details, this is a beautiful canal house built in 1777 and due to its architecture would be a challenge for anyone with mobility problems. If you ask for your breakfast at 9, be ready to open the door. You will love this B&B. in fairness to these fine businessman I would recommend that you only make your reservations on their web site.Be sure and talk a canal boat tour. Update your history, What is the connection between Spain and The Netherlands? who was William of Orange?

After finding out, after I had booked, that there would be an extra charge if we arrived after 6pm and getting anxious, we found this to be a wonderful B&B with a comfortable room, good bathroom and smashing breakfast. It was not far from the railway station but was in a lovely, classy area. The young man in charge was very friendly and helpful and recommended a couple of restaurants to try, and the one we went to was superb. We would highly recommend this place.

First time visiting Amsterdam and I found this amazing place to stay. We really enjoyed the B&B experience. The location was amazing and close to everything. Edson was very helpful and made an amazing breakfast. Would definitely return next time I visit Amsterdam.

We stayed at the b&b for 2 nights the guys that run it are really helpful nothing is 2 much trouble . Rooms are really clean tea hot chocolate cakes etc in room ,free WiFi ,amazing breakfast , my daughter organised the trip for my birthday ,she couldn’t have chosen a better b&b near to all the attractions

We stayed at B&B Barangay for three nights last weekend. Excellent location in a quiet street with very welcoming hosts (including the lovely cats). There is lots to praise and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought into making it feel like a luxury experience. For example, the towel swans, the welcome basket of wine and food, the underfloor heating in the bathroom, the fancy toilet that flashes in the dark, the modern monsoon shower, and of course, the breakfasts delivered to your room. I doubt you'd get that kind of service from an equivalent hotel in the same area. However, we stayed in one of the patio rooms downstairs which was labelled as non smoking, but for two out of the three nights people were smoking on the patio outside and the smoke got into our room. The patio area is only open until 11pm and is labelled as no smoking, but the owners offered the guests next door an ash tray to use, so it's clearly not a strict policy... When we raised this with Edson he was great and moved us to a different room and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. However, if you're going to encourage people to smoke right outside the bedrooms, perhaps don't label it a non smoking room.

We stayed here for one night at the start of our holiday. The host is so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing--one of the best meals we have enjoyed on our travels. The stairs are indeed steep, but oh the sunlight streaming in makes it worthwhile. Easy walk free m the train station.

We have arrived back home today from Amsterdam, we stayed at Barangay b&b it was a 5 minute walk from Amsterdam central although in the quieter part everything was within walking distance. We arrived early for our stay but had the warmest of welcome from the owners then we were shown to our room which was on the top floor & as with all buildings in Amsterdam the stairs were very narrow & steep (not appropriate for some people) Edson brought our breakfast every morning & it was different every day & i must say what an excellent breakfast it was, the guys do a great job at their b&b.& what ever you required nothing was to much trouble. I would highly recommend a stay at the Barangay if you take a trip to Amsterdam. Much luck to you guys with your B & B best wishes from jackie & bryan

Stayed 2 nights , quirky BnB and great value for a city centre stay . Ideally placed near centraal station . Very friendly host and a lovely breakfast brought to your room . Would not hesitate to stay again Dave and Lisa Mather

We arrived early but this was no problem for Edson and the guys who greeted us with a very welcoming smile and a very nice coffee! When we were shown to our room, it was exactly as described. comfy and quirky with everything you need right there including a rather nice complimentary South African Pinotage Rose.. We were asked what time we would breakfast delivered to our room the next morning....and like arrived.....I cannot describe the breakfasts here but you MUST witness them to believe them. We cannot recommend Barangay B&B highly enough and will definitely be returning soon.
