really close to everything so great for location. rooms were ok but could do with a proper deep clean. we had the room right at the back where everyone goes to the little yard to smoke so got woken a few times. it snowed horrifcly whilst we were there so took refuge in the little bar on the corner a few times. hotels ok but reception staff are miserable.
As far as I'm concerned, when you go on a city break, you are there to see the city, not the hotel room! This being said, I have no complaints! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Armada hotel in August 2017 for his birthday! We wanted to spend most of our pennies on good food (and beer!!) so I opted for a cheaper alternative in terms of accommodation. I agree, the room is basic, however we had a stunning view of the canal (I do believe I paid around £10 extra for the privilege!) which made up for it! Room was nice and clean! Exactly what we needed! We didn't often get back until 11pm and left again in the morning around 10am! So us personally simply used the room for sleeping!! The hotel is also super central. We got one train from the airport and then walked from the train station to this hotel which only took around 15 minutes! With some help from google maps of course!! It is right near remembrant square with loads of great places to eat and drink! As well as a Starbucks for your familiar fix. Super happy with the location, room and service :) if you are looking for somewhere safe to stay while exploring an amazing city, then look no further!!
We hadn't originally booked this hotel, they took us in when we found ourselves in Amsterdam hotel-less! So glad we didn't book in advance as I probably wouldn't have booked but we loved the hotel. Yes the rooms are small, and some of the communal areas are a bit dates but it's relatively clean, the staff are friendly, and the place next door does a fabulous breakfast so what more can you ask for in a 2 star hotel?
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Amsterdam! We had an amazing time and loved the location of the hotel as there was a little cafe next door that served through the night (alcohol wise!). The hotel itself was lovely too! Very clean and quite modern. The rooms were slightly on the small side but we were only on the room to sleep and shower so not an issue for us at all! I would recomend this place to everyone!
The rooms here are quite small. The first room I was placed in felt almost like an attic and smelled like smoke. "Oh No! We don't allow smoking in this hotel!" I was told. Then I found a cigarette butt under the bed (hmmm, did I say clean?) and presented it to the concierge, so she transferred me to an "upgrade." That first floor room had a large window which looked out on the canal. Terrific. The window was open about 24" at least and the window would not close since it's an old building. There was an outdoor cafe below where people laughed and talked until 1 am or so and then there was the clanking of chairs and tables until at least 2 am or later as the staff put them away. And, the people in the cafe smoked, directly below my window which floated up into my room. The clanking began again early in the morning as they opened the cafe for breakfast. By the time I left there I had a horrible bronchial cough from second-hand smoke which lasted far too long. I will say that the location is excellent. There are many restaurants around the corner and the Rijksmuseum is within walking distance. Despite that, I would not stay there again.
Stayed here for a long weekend with my partner. Very central walking distance to all going on. Clean nice rooms. Basic but all you need for short break. Bathrooms nice lovely shower and all you need. Hair dyer coffee ana kettle in room. We overlooked canal which was as bonus
Stayed for few days in September. Centrally located and walking distance to all sights you'd want to see. Room was good size as was bathroom. Both spotless clean and serviced everyday. Staff friendly and helpful. All you could need for a short city break.
Just on our way home, Good location for seethe sight in Amsterdam Was slightly worried from reading reviews but the hotel room was small but very clean. Staff where friendly and very helpful We would stay here again 😊
Have to say we loved this hotel.. Was perfect from start to finish. Gorgeous room, loved the walk in shower and the location was A1.. Only criticism would be being underground, quite noisy but you get over that, who goes on holidays to stay in there hotel room the whole time anyways? We will definitely be returning to Amsterdam soon and this hotel will be our first choice!
Not too bad, me and my mates paid £1200 for a week here, lovely hotel, good room, apart from one of us was on a sofa bed, wasn't really suitable as he is 6ft 5. Good location, 5 minute walk into the Centre, and 2 minutes away from our favorite coffee shop!! Plus subway is literally next door! So when you've smoked too much it's not too far to stumble back to your hotel and you can even get a subway on route!!
