Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre

The 197 (?) bus from the airport stops at the Riksmuseum, which is about 2 blocks away. Food and beverages were reasonably priced, and the room was nice. Only complaints were that I didn't find a way to get in without hauling luggage up 6 steps, and the air conditioning didn't work, even though the otherwise helpful desk clerk told me with a straight face that it did. We opened the window.

First time in Amsterdam. The location is perfect, across from some of the best museums in the world. The Rjiks and Van Gogh are all withing two minutes walking. The city is also very walk able or biking can also be done very easily. The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice, clean hotel, excellent location . Professional staff

The staff was courteous but constantly busy and lines long. Our room was very small and walls looked as though dirty shoes were bounced off of them. The bathroom shower stall was not "installed" therefore a lot of water leaked from beneath. On the plus side this hotel is in an ideal location and close to public transportation. PS - There is a very nice restaurant that serves breakfast.

Great stay, great location, good food close by and helpful staff.

Nice hotel closed to many things like I am Amsterdam,Heineken expirence.ext

The hotel was the perfect home away from home. The bathrooms are small, but this was something I expected from Amsterdam overall. As a result, it wasn't a disappointment. Would definitely stay again.

Chose Amsterdam for a side trip from our main trip to London after plans for a different city fell through. Was sort of last minute, so there wasn't a whole lot hotel options left in our price range. So I guess we got what we paid for. Location couldn't have been better - right around the corner from the airport bus (Line 197) stop. Literally next door to the Rijksmuseum, one street over from Vondel Park, and across the street from two of the main bridges into old town. Check-in was fine if lengthy (very manual process) - we were about an hour early but the room was ready. On the 4th floor - be careful here - the portion we were in was the top floor (part of the building has a 5th floor) and the exterior wall sort of angles down into the room cutting off a decent bit of headroom over half the bed (hard to describe). Hallway and our bedroom felt tired. Carpet was wearing, walls were a bit nicked/scuffed. Decent enough space for a couple suitcases. Bathroom was really nice - felt like a different hotel. Weird bathroom door - frosted glass that you can somewhat see through - think about that if you have a travel companion. One final note - our heating didn't work - it would try to turn on but would never get going - it got into the 40s (Fahrenheit) outside at night - so the room got chilly. Should have called the front desk but for some reason just didn't have the motivation (or the desire to deal with it).

Great hotel at the best location, very easy transportation to airport (bus # 197 for 5 euro), excellent breakfast, fresh NY Times, free Wi-Fi and much more

Very small rooms with little ventilation and sun light
