Remodel was very cheaply done. Bathroom door frame was extremely rusty, toilet seat was oval & toilet was round (seat did not fit). After an extremely hard rain, water seeped through the wall soaking my suitcase that was on the floor (clothes, etc were wet). Staff was nice.

We opened the door to the room, and immediately were hit with a very strong smell. (Not smoke) We could not tell what it was, maybe a very strong deodorant/perfume? We went to the office and asked for and received a new room. Same smell in new room, at this point (11 pm after a 12 hour drive, and expecting an early start the next morning) we just went to bed. Although I was able to sleep my wife could not and actually went to the car to sleep around 5 am. She said the smell was stinging her nose. On the good side, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the kids loved the Halloween decorations in the office.

The reviews for this hotel averaged out to a mediocre rating. I'm sorry to say that's far too generous. First, let's establish some facts that aren't apparent from the pictures or description. This is a motor lodge (room doors lead directly outside to parking lot), not a modern hotel, in what appears to be a rather seedy part of Amarillo. The room numbers are scotch taped into the windows...classy. Room had been wiped down and vacuumed, but the bathroom wasn't clean. Best of all...they put someone else's credit card on my room, even though I'd prepaid through an online travel agency. I'm still trying to determine what they did with my card, since hotel won't respond to inquiries. In summary: We paid too much for a non-smoking room (which cost extra) because it was a weekend night. I wish I'd saved my money and slept in the car at the nice, clean rest area about 60 miles outside town.

The room was nice and clean. Did not smell like smoke. Other hotels I've been to have smelled like smoke even though I asked for a non-smoking room. Breakfast was not the best, but everything else made up for it. Staff was very nice and friendly. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.

I was a little abrehensive since the price was so cheap. Room was very nice, not to much, and not to little, Average, very clean, quiet, and plenty of room. Good value. Breakfast was a little sub par but you dont expect top notch cooking in a discount motel....

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and enjoyed it so we booked it again this year for a total of 6 days. We had the same room we had before. It had been updated and renovated and was quite comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is quite adequate. Our only complaints-- the washers and dryers need to be replaced (we had to take our damp wash to a laundromat to finish drying it). The computer and printer were not working so we could not print our airline boarding passes.

They have a very friendly staff working in the service desk, not only them but house keeping too.

Very friendly staff, clean room, and A warm continental breakfast. What more can a person ask for?

Room was clean and comfortable, free hot breakfast, good value.

The security latch on the door was broken, thankfully still functioned. The bed was made, but there were NO pillows on it -- 3 were on the table, and one was in the chair, and NONE of them had pillow cases. There was cereal left in the chair, and the whole floor in general looked like it was in need of a good cleaning. WiFi did not work either. The girl at checkout cut me off before I could explain my complaints, and said "well, what can I say?" I stayed at a different Days Inn in the past month, and had issues with a dead bug and cleanliness, but this one takes the cake for being the worst hotel I've ever stayed at!

Quick overnight visit. Was able to do some late night computer work. Worker friendly business desk set up. Spacious room.

A very nice place to stay. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was with such a low cost.

This motel is OK if you're looking for a flying visit of just one night. The beds were like sleeping on the floor but for one of us with a bad back, it wasn't such a bad thing. The other issue was that we skipped breakfast here. The reason was that when we went to have breakfast, we found the person in attendance, coughing all over the food. There was insufficient eggs for the four of us, in fact, just enough for one person. When asking a question, the attendant couldn't be bothered to take his Ipod ear phones out to talk to us. We left immediately and had MacDonald's. I think next time, I'd look for something else.

The room's interior was recently remodeled and re-painted, and the furniture was newer and clean. The shower/tub/toilet was older, with peeling paint and some water stains. Outside, the hotel is a little worn. But, for a clean room at a bargain price, overall it was ok. The "exercise room" was pitiful.

Pleasant, efficient staff upon arrival

Apparently new management. Loved reception this time. Very nice breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Most enjoyable stay in Texas this year.

Hotel is very easy to find.Very helpful and friendly Staff and good sized rooms.Easy check in.All over it's a good stay for that money. You can not expect a 5 star hotel for 45,- bucks/night anyway.I certainly would recommend this hotel to friends and we will stay there on more time on our way back to El Pao,TX again

There were stains on the carpet, the shower was extremely small and the beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever felt. Other than that, it's in a decent location with plenty of restaurants, etc. around.
