Out of the way; not a good area; shady looking residents; run down and not estitically pleasing but no issues with pets! And good discounts. For just a stop for one night it will do for me. Would not recommend for a family or single females!
We got into town after a long hot day and checked in only to find that the swimming pool was bright green. The room was OK, and the beds were comfortable. The door looked like it had been kicked in, and the door handle in the bathroom was loose. Also, the shower did not seem to be very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, in the case of hotels, you usually do get what you pay for.
Stayed at this same hotel 4 yrs ago & rated it excellent, not this time. Had a very sour odor in room. The bed was good as was shower & TV, good & clean enough for price & that was very good. But the noise from the Interstate was so very loud & the motorcycles, omg made you come out of your bed. didn't get a lot of rest.. WiFi was so very bad. Hotel seems a little dated also.
TERRIBLE website!! Tried for a day and a half to make a reservation on the website and was never able to complete it Very UN-user friendly. When I checked into the motel, the manager said many people complained about the same thing. I'll try again in the future, but if the website doesn't improve I will be done with ABVI.
Curtains and sheets with holes in them; sheets were NOT clean. The door looked like someone had tried to kick it in. Feral cats all over the place; people walking about aimlessly. If I had not been so exhausted from a long drive, I would have slept in my van in a lighted parking lot. It would have been a lot cleaner and safer.
We had a group of friends try and find a place to stay overnight in Amarillo, Texas and found this budget hotel. The first flag that went up was the receptionist behind bullet proof glass and couldn't get us all in one room. She tried to scatter all of us about the complex in different rooms which we were not comfortable with. After we got our room cards a local approached us out the front and said we don't belong around these parts and will be targeted. Five minutes we saw feral cats around the complex with body parts missing but still alive. After a group decision we decided to fully forfeit the rooms we just paid for and moved away from the eastern parts of the I-35. I can only imagine what could have happened that night with so much filth and sketchy people (likely doing drug deals and drinking).
Got in about 10pm. Highway 40 in Amarillo was lined with hotels and motels and I chose this at random. Rundown interior with stained carpets, marks on walls, sagging curtain with cigarette burns on window! Too tired to find another place to stay. Heavy traffic noise and noise from motel parking lot. A lot to contend with for $49 a night.
Great hotel experience all around! Checking in was such a breeze and Ryan who was working the front desk was very friendly and courteous. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. It is located right down the road from Wal-Mart and there is also a What-A-Burger nearby. Would definitely recommend to travelers passing through looking for a good inexpensive room! I will definitely be back the next time I am travelling through Amarillo!
My experience was that of a clean well maintained room with all the normal amenities of a medium priced motel. I liked the fact that the room had modern appliances and a late version LED television. The motel sits at a excellent location on the city east side with easy access for those westbound drivers looking to make a fast and easy stop to find a good place to spend the evening.
Central to lots of good areas, one of the best values I have ever stayed in! Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. This is a great place for an extended stay trip or a business trip. I recommend this place to anyone!
