Stopped off here for drinks on our way out of Amalfi and ended up having a very nice salad overlooking the sea. Very helpful waiters and reasonably priced at 40 Euros for two. Bit of a trek down lift and up stairs but a very pleasant lunch with free parking
The Hotel has a fabulous view of the coast as it is purched on a cliff face, the rooms are tidy and comfortable. The beds are very hard to sleep on (not the most comfortable but that is subjective as some may like their beds on the firmer side). The breakfast bar is good without being spectacular. The staff are polite but dont really go the extra step to make you feel appreciated easpecially with what you pay for the priveledge. There is a daily shuttle which is really handy howver the only draw back is that the last one is around 7.30 which means you have a walk back from town if you want to have dinner in there (which is recommended). Otherwise a very handy location and a beautiful backdrop you cant really go wrong.
Reception staff were great, very helpful , couldn't do enough for us especially Gabriella. Enzo helped us with a noise issue . All staff we encountered were lovely and we had a good laugh with them. Room was lovely and clean , with a great view. Breakfast was adequate , dinner was the best we had in Amalfi ,both with that lovely view. Loved jumping into the sea from the platform, didn't use pool as too cold. Pleasant walk to Amalfi ,but lots of traffic. All in all the best 30th wedding anniversary trip we could have had.
I must say this hotel, is absolutely wonderful, the staff were helpful and cheerful nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel like royalty. Our room was airy, lovely view over the sea, very clean, the maid came in twice a day. The shower was hot and powerful enough. The balcony was large with a small table and chairs and also some comfortable sun beds. There was a lovely smell of jasmine in the evenings, the flowers around the hotel were pretty. The pool was an adventure and it was nice to find a bar and attendant down there. All in all we had a lovely stay... But... although the hotel is located just above the sea with magnificent views of Amalfi, it was a frustrating trip down into the town. The hotel provided a courtesy shuttle bus, but we like to be spontaneous and not have to adhere to their times, which weren't that frequent. So we walked.... its not too far, but it's a bit dangerous outside the hotel as there is no pavement and the road is quite busy (lots of motor bikes) then the worse thing is there is a traffic tunnel where there is a pavement but each time you enter the tunnel you get a big dose of carbon monoxide!! It's not short enough to hold your breath all the way through😊 and in the ten days we were there we didn't manage to get one way or the other without smelly traffic.😟 It looks like there used to be a walk way around the tunnel but it became dangerous and after asking we were told it had not been available for two years! Then there are steps but we didn't find these too bad, you get such lovely views from the hotel a few steps are not a problem. It's such a shame as this hotel would be a perfect place to stay just far enough away from the lovely Amalfi for a peaceful and dreamy stay.
So this hotel is great for the views and the views and the views. It was nice to go to the pool and get drinks/snack service. I found it rather odd that the front desk had to keep our passports for 30 minutes or so (with no real explanation). Did I mention the view? The room was a great size for 4 people...but the beds arrangement/selection was odd. We got a Queen for one room and bunk beds for the other room. Just was odd. We stayed only for one night but it was a great location for the view and walking down to the town of Amalfi. Getting a taxi up or a shuttle late will cost you, but I expected that. When booking, ASK when the cruise ship will be arriving. Reason being is that the town (very small and quaint) is overrun by the people visiting from the cruise ship... avoid those days all together... The elevators are small...very small... I sent two emails asking for preferred seating for dinner one night before we arrived and those emails were unanswered. They had our reservation, but no commentary after that...would have liked to have some kind of communication from the hotel.
In this lovely hotel you will feel just like home because of the great hosting! But, this is just the pleasant additional benefit. Cause the hotel is just LOVE. The location and the view is indescribable! Rooms are lovely and clean, the breakfast is nice, italian style. Center of Amalfi is just 10-15 min beautiful walk away. The pool is at the edge of the rock! So cool... A bit pricy, but this kind of places can't be different! LOVE IT!
Friendly staff and well located (10-12min walking distance from the main square and port of Amalfi) + there is a free shuttle service offered by the hotel that does multiple trips during the day. The breakfast view is truly splendid and the waiter does know how to make an excellent espresso macchiato. The rooms are clean and some of them have a touch of modern to them (hand and movement activated room lights) but others are smaller and feel outdated. The hotel has multiple tanning chairs on different levels, a decent outdoor pool and chairs on top of a 3-5m platform which you can jump into the ocean. We had a lot of fun and are going to miss this place and the staff that was so nice and helpful. Try to book in advance as the prices for this 4 star hotel tend to go high.
Stunning views, walking distance to enjoy Amalfi each evening with it's lively Piazza Fabulous hotel, the restaurant, pool and coastal location unbelievable - wonderful holiday especially being able to just jump into the cool sea from the lower deck and swim across to Amalfi if you dare!! The staff were excellent, upgraded our room and even recommended a fantastic excursion direct to the Isle of Capri being collected personally by boat below on the lower desk/landing area below the pool. What an experience - thank you Enzo! Restaurant views amazing and what better way to start the day with breakfast on the terrace and finish the evening discussing world politics with Andrea and his lemoncello spritz. Top hotel have noted some varying reviews online but our experience was great and we would definitely recommend, so much that we even hope to return again later in the year.
The room had a beautiful view. The front desk service was average, rooms were not that clean, breakfast spread was not good, compared to other shuttle services this hotels shuttle service was very poor. The lift to the pool is very dangerous its malfunctioning. Not a happy stay except for the stunning breath taking views. Not up to the standards of a rated star class hotel.
Spectacular!! Unbelievable views out of our room, dinner, breakfast, and pool areas!! Very nice staff and good room! Good parking at the hotel for a charge. Enjoyed our dinner and loved the included breakfast. Food was great and the views some of the best I've had ever!! Really great spot!! Great photos diving and jumping into the ocean with the city in the background.
