An Italian trip to celebrate my daughter's birthday....the Hotel Margherita was a delightful place to stay! A short but thoroughly enjoyable visit, we spent three nights staying in a deluxe sea view room at this charming family-owned hotel. All the staff were helpful, professional and friendly....service with a genuine smile. Owners Andrea & Suela were frequently 'front of house' and went out of their way to be helpful. The reception/lounge area is an attractive place to 'feel at home'. Breakfast is served in the adjoining, attractive dining room......a good selection of either cereals, breads/croissants/pastries, fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, or cooked choice of eggs, omelette, pancetta, etc. Lunch or dinner can be taken on the top floor terrace with fanstastic views of the Amalfi coast. The pool area, although not huge, is well designed with comfortable sunloungers, and wicker sofas. Bedrooms are furnished in simple, traditional style and spotlessly clean....very comfortable beds! Fresh, good bedlinen too. A hotel courtesy 'bus ( people carrier ) transports guests to the beach, and also seem happy to pick up from the steep intersection into the main section of Praiano. The local bus to Positano takes appx. 20 minutes ....depending on the traffic! Narrow, very twisty coastal road with coaches, cars, motorbikes carefully negotiating the bends with hair-raising moments! To sum up: The Amalfi Coast is simply beautiful, the small village of Praiano unspoilt by tourism, and we really felt 'at home' at The Margherita.....unpretentious, comfortable, charming staff and in a wonderful location. (For those who need to be connected to the Internet 24/7 the Wi-Fi connection is great!)
We are so pleased we chose to stay here and not Positano. It's so relaxing and comfortable. Walking into our room definitely inspired the wow factor. The view from our balcony was amazing! Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. The staff couldn't be more helpful and lovely. It was such a wonderful experience after staying in a not so nice place in Sorrento, we felt we could finally relax and we were in good hands! Transport is easy from this hotel with a bus stop outside the front door. The pool area is wonderful and the breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Wifi worked great.. everything was just fabulous!
This was our third stay at Hotel Margherita. We will always come back. Suela and the staff do an amazing job, the service is first class. There's nothing like this hotel anywhere in the world. Just perfect.
My husband, myself and my two sons (aged 12 and 9) stayed at Hotel Margherita for 5 amazing nights. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in the Amalfi Coast. Staying at Praiano was a blessing after visiting Positano for a day (an easy bus ride from out the front of the hotel) and seeing the huge amount of people there, we were incredibly grateful to have chosen to stay at the much more peaceful town of Praiano, and Hotel Margherita was the best hotel there. All the rave reviews I read online were well deserved. Being greeted with cold drinks and cookies was just the beginning of our fabulous experience. The hotel itself and the rooms are the cleanest I have ever stayed in- seriously immaculate, always. The pool area is serene and blissful. The breakfast each morning was lovely and our room was like a dream. The position looking over the sea is breathtaking. The most impressive part of the stay were the hotel staff. They would do anything to make your stay more comfortable, always friendly and willing to help you in every way. Highly recommend the resturant at the hotel as well- lovely food, but there's also several other easy options to eat a few hundred meters away, for some tasty pizza and pasta. Do yourself a favour and stay at Hotel Margarita in Praiano. It will make your trip to the Amalfi coast everything you imagine (minus the crowds!).
We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and Hotel Margherita was the perfect spot. Staff was so warm and the hotel so comfortable and inviting. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the larger towns on the coast by you could easily travel to see them. Room was always spotless, bed was comfortable, water pressure great and always hot water available. Flawless stay!
We stayed at hotel Margherita on our Hidden Italy walking tour. We arrived hot and tired from our days walk and were welcomed by beautiful friendly thoughtful staff. A complimentary cool drink (choice of three) biscuits and a relaxing setting to cool off before being shown to our room. The staff were thoughtful, anticipated our needs and were very receptive. The setting on the Amalfi coast is beautiful and the hotel restaurant and pool facilities were top class.
From the moment we arrived to the hotel utill the last second of our stay - the staff was so kind and willing yo help. It has been really a unique stay. We recommend this hotel for every visit to amlfi coast !!
After many travels throughout the UK, Spain, France, Australia and Italy the Hotel Margherita is without a doubt the best accommodation experience we have ever had. We've just enjoyed and cherished our third visit and as always, our stay was magical. A very special place. ❤️
Spacious and clean rooms with spectacular views. The location is close to the beach and downtown area, and the hotel has complimentary shuttles that go to/from the beach from 9 am to 6pm. Upon check-in, you are given bus schedules and routes, maps, and tons of information on where to go and how to get there. The breakfast is delicious and the hotel restaurant has gorgeous views and great service! It has a very welcoming and "home" feel---would definitely stay here again!
It may seem very modest from the street view but once inside it is like you are having a nostalgic visit to an era where you would expect to see famous people , Hemingway, Bogart & Bacall, maybe I fantasise a little. The hotel has an unrivalled location perched high above the Main Street, giving you a panoramic view of the bay. The suite we were in,although modest, had all that we required during our 4 night stay. The hotel's regular shuttle service plus the local bus and the Praiano to Positano bus made all the features of the Amalfi Coast easily accessible. The hotels pool was a welcome relief to cool down after another warm hot day, then you have the terrace which houses a bar for the evening sunset and a wonderful restaurant M'ama to complete your day. Suela and her wonderful attentive staff ensure that your stay is a memorable one. We chose Praiano because it is in between Amalfi and Positano and lot less touristy but it offers you just as good if not better experience of the Amalfi Coast.
