We loved the Hotel Margarita, it was perfect ! Everything from check in to check out was easy. We were greeted by one of the Margarita team Suela who turned out to be one of the owners. She came out from behind the desk introduced herself seated us on one of the comfortable couches , gave us a choice of nice cold drinks and some delicious cookies. Then she walked us to our room it was lovely, in the front with a balcony overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea beautiful and endless. Then Suela walked us through the hotel showing and explaining everything we needed to know. Our room was spotless, nicely decorated and sized comfortably. Our bed was very comfortable with wonderful ironed linens which they changed everyday. We loved our view but weren't sure since it was the front of the hotel over the road if it would be loud or not. No need to worry the windows are completely sound proof ! Better yet you can close the shutters and curtains and it's nice and dark , perfect room for sleeping. Our pillows were even comfy ! We stayed 6 nights slept great and woke up to a delicious breakfast every morning. Sweets, breads , cheeses , meats , yogurt homemade and in containers with fruit , and various cereals. If that's not enough Bianca or Margarita would cook you eggs anyway you like, we had perfect omelets made with fresh vegetables from their garden every morning, along with great caffe. We also ate dinner in M’amas restaurant ( the hotels on the roof top restaurant) the food was fresh and delicious, with always the right amount of food. The restaurant is rated 2 forks , you can look it up. It’s well deserved, the service was impeccable with a full bar and large wine selection. My wife took a cooking class from Suela’s mom who is also the hotels founder and namesake. It was a fun class with three other women from outside the hotel. They learned how to make a four course meal, which I was invited to share , it was quite good. My wife also said it was easy and not nearly as complicated as we make it in the U.S.part of it of course is cooking in season. We were very happy with our choice of staying off the main track in Praiano , and without a car. The Amalfi Coast is very windy with very narrow roads , it was a harrowing experience riding the bus, let alone driving. Everyone we met that rented a car had scary or hilarious stories , but they all left the cars in the lots at the hotels. We were also happy traveling on our own. We went to the town of Amalfi and left in less than an hour. It’s to small for the tourist crowds. We did enjoy walking around shopping some ,drinking some and eating more. The views are breathtaking up and down the coast. We like to travel in the fall usually less crowds not so this trip. After Amalfi we opted out of Capri , Mount Vesuvius, Herculeum and all other tours except Pompeii. We were there early missed most of the crowds and it was worth it. We did hike the hills, climbed stairs , went down to the Praiano beach and enjoyed relaxing. The weather was perfect , warm in the day cool in the evening , we never had a bad meal. Some were fabulous others were good none were bad. People were terrific. We went in the local churches they were beautiful, we walked along the cemetery walk that was peaceful and lovely. The only bad thing was we started our month in Italy where we should have ended. It was just perfect! We actually miss the hotel Margarita and the people that took great care of us everyday. We have without meaning to compare every where else to our Priano experience. The others have been great , nice , lovely but none have quite measured up, for us anyway.
This hotel offered the best service! They went out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. The breakfast was amazing. The views from my room were breathtaking, there are no words to describe. It was quiet and peaceful.
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Margherita in November. I chose the Margherita based solely on the phenomenal trip advisor reviews that I read. Needless to say we were not disappointed .Everything was excellent, the rooms with fantastic views ,food, staff and location. Praiano is so much quieter than Positano and we love that!!!! Andrea and Suela really run a first class operation. If you are looking for 5 star service at 3 star prices in a beautiful setting then do yourself a favor and go and spend some time with Andrea and Suela at The hotel Margherita. You will NOT be disappointed. I GUARANTEE it !!! Thank you to the entire staff for making our trip most memorable. Sincerely Joseph and Adriana.
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Margherita. The location is quiter than Positano and Amalfi but great to unwind and relax. Staff were extremely helpful and made the stay extra special - one staff member even took us to Amalfi on his way home.
Do not miss this place. There are no words to describe this hotel, the view outside is amazing, the eye wants to catch all the time. The inside of the hotel is so Luxurious - see my photos. A perfect place, rooms are great, breakfat is above all, kindness of stuff.
We stayed for 2 nights in a superior room overlooking the sea. The room was spacious and well designed. A small balcony good enough for 2 people to enjoy the morning tea. The food was good too at their restaurant 'Mama'. Breakfast was incl and was nice with eggs to order. Room service was also offered for breakfast. The seafood was nice. The pesto pasta was okayish as it was too oily. The hotel was very clean. They have a free shuttle service on an hourly basis that takes you to the Praiano beach. Polite staff and very helpful. Would love to stay here again.
My wife and I decided to spend five days on the Amalfi coast. We chose the hotel Margherita based on trip advisor reviews and several other factors. We could not have been more pleased with the choice we made. The hotel is located on a small street above the village of Praiano. Everything you could ask for was at the hotel. There was parking across the street, a fabulous view, a wonderful restaurant with a terrific breakfast, and a caring and dedicated staff that was attentive to every guest. My wife was thrilled because the desk clerk/concierge would make her espresso at 6 AM every morning, well before the breakfast was served. The room was very clean and adequate for any tourist's stay. I highly recommend this wonderful little hotel.
My daughter and I loved our stay at Hotel Margherita. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. Nothing was left unattended to - they provided suggestions as to where to go and were spot on. They made us feel like we were personal guests, not just traveling through. The hotel was beautiful and their restaurant provided some of the best food we ate in Italy! That's saying something too because the food everywhere was so delicious. We hated leaving and will definitely be back to the Amalfi Coast and Hotel Margherita!
We were in desperate need of a relaxing holiday and that's exactly what Hotel Margherita allowed us to have. The staff were always very courteous, the owners were helpful and were always happy to make recommendations about the best places to visit, how to get there and what to look for. After the horrendous ( and not for the faint hearted) journey in the hire car from Naples airport along the Amalfi coastline to Hotel Margherita the homemade juices and biscuits offered to us on arrival were most welcome. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea and most mornings we would lie in bed with the balcony doors open looking out to the glistening sea, the church bells ring a special peel at 8am which we always listened out for. Magical. A chocolate birthday cake with a candle arrived at our breakfast table on the morning of my husbands 60th birthday - this had not been mentioned to the hotel, so thumbs up to them for that special thought. We ate in the restaurant several evenings and the food was very good. We did have a cookery class with the founder of the hotel - Margherita. We booked this at reception and was excellent - we then enjoyed what we had cooked on the restaurant balcony overlooking the sea. Although we had a hire car we used the easily accessible buses to Amalfi and Positano and at 1.30 euro each way with no parking hassle it was well worth the money. The village of Praiano is within walking distance of the hotel and offers spectacular views on the walk. Thank you Hotel Margherita.
The hotel felt like Home the minute you walked in! Everyone was welcoming and really kind, they all took effort in making sure our stay was good. This deserves to be at least a 4 star hotel, as the view, the stay and the staff were amazing.
