Super 8 Altoona

My family and I stay here every time we are in town visiting family. We are treated like family by the hotel employees. They are very responsive to any needs and keep us very comfortable. It is also very conveniently located right off of interstate 90; it is close to the new shopping plaza and many local businesses as well. Many good restaurants are literally within walking distance.

Hotel is well situated just off of I-99 and near the Altoona Curve stadium and Lakemont Park. Hotel staff is friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable with a separate A/C unit that can be adjusted for comfort.

This hotel is a good value for what it provides. A clean room with comfy beds and a free no frills breakfast. We have stayed many times and have not been disappointed.

Hotel met expectations. Clean and helpful staff. Close to where we needed to be. Convenient.

We were there overnight, very clean, friendly staff. would stay again when visiting our daughter at Penn State Altoona

There was hair in our clean towels that were hanging on the rack. Had to ask for more towels when we booked the room for 2 they only left 1. Front desk gentleman on 2/20 early am was not very friendly.

Decent price for a quick trip. Clean rooms, late check in.

reserved a non-smoking room. they gave it away. said your company said in small print they did not have to honor the request. which was true. said i had to call them to confirm the request. i did call . did not make a difference. would not give a credit or reduction in room charge.said had to take it up with your company.. did take the room as had no choice. it was ok. did not smell too badly.

We had stayed at this hotel at least once many years ago. I had no recollection that it was 3 stories high and had no elevator! I had a spinal fusion 8 weeks ago and I would not have booked here if I had remembered that they have no elevators. When I asked why they did not advertise this fact...the desk attendant told me that I should have asked for Handicapped access but they were completely booked and there was no way they could give us a room on a lower floor.

The man at check-in was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about area eateries. He noticed that they'd put me in a smoking room when I'd specified non-smoking when I made the reservation, and he switched me to an appropriate room before I even was aware of what was going on. Upon check-out I mentioned that the room's heater puts out A LOT of heat and that you have to turn the dial down almost all the way before it cycles on and off. The woman at the desk made a note to have it checked. The room was clean, and the bed was firm. The complimentary continental breakfast was certainly adequate. I would stay here again if the motels in State College are charging $450.00 a night with 2-night minimum stay because it's a Penn State football weekend. The 40-minute drive from Altoona to State College is pretty easy.

The room was clean and neat and the bed was comfortable. I definitely feel it was a good value for what I was looking for (a bed, a bathroom, free wifi and a treadmill). A few minor things: The pillows were old and lumpy and there was no outlet at the desk for my laptop or cell phone. I ended up unplugging the coffee maker to plug in my laptop and moving the desk from the wall so I could unplug the alarm clock and plug my cell phone in instead (it was either that or the lamp). The room could definitely have used a few more outlets. The staff was friendly and helpful. I left something behind and had to call 3 times before I could get it sent back to me, but they did ship it out immediately. The wifi worked just fine, I had no problems with it at all. I used the gym, which consisted of a treadmill and elliptical machine. It was clean, quiet and stocked with towels and the equipment worked. I would stay at this hotel again.

It was a great choice. I liked the layout and the furniture in the room. Selection of TV stations was good. Breakfast was OK but fine fo rmy purposes. It was a great choice. Glad I stayed there and will do so again in the future.

This hotel is the classic "budget" motel, nothing special

Our stay was less than 10 hours because we checked in late. I was happy that the hotel did not have a two night minimum since our needs were so brief. The only rooms available were smoking and we are not smokers but we didn't have a choice. I did not think it would be that big of a deal, however, everything in the room had a very heavy smoke smell including the pillows and bedding. If I ever end up with a smoking room again, I will take along a bottle of Fabreeze. Other than that the staff and place were fine.

it was a one night stay overnight on our way to south carolina was idel for that

Women Clerk would not provide us a receipt! Not enough room to sit or stand to get something toi eat. Directions off Rt I-99 to motel would have helped us finding better. Also, GPS located it at other end of Fairview Dr Charge for safe, even though do not use it. They make their money back in a year?

room was clean and had fridge and microwave. staff was friendly and helpful. Only thing i didn't like is you cannot change the reservation once it is made for some types of reservations so i ended up paying for two nights but only staying one

We were in the area for a bowling tournament and found this hotel to be perfect for our needs for the weekend. Great price, great location and friendly service!

Our room was great. It had free internet service and a microwave and refrigerator that we didn't even ask for !

I wasn't looking for much just a place that's clean and quiet to stay for the night and more importantly that's cheap. Super 8 fits. I definitely appreciate the free wifi.
