Should be better considering the price Of the hotel. Can’t get help when I asked the front desk personnel about city tours, transportation in the area & to get us a cab to go to the airport. We ate at their restaurant 4x & the menu is the same.
The hotel is charming on the outside, but the guest rooms are only average in comfort. The fold-out bed was not comfortable at all. The breakfast was very good. The dinner in the restaurant was only so-so, and very expensive.
A trip to see the Christmas markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Finished our tour visiting relatives in Switzerland
We loved our two night visit in Oberammergau's Hotel Alte Post. The building is historic and located in the center of the village so it was easy to stroll in the quaint village streets at any time. The room was clean, comfortable, modern with Bavarian charm. We had a room with a view overlooking the village square and the mountains. Staff was always courteous. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Oberammergau is a town like no other. My husband and I have been there three times and even though we always visit other towns to experience more of Germany, it's tough to beat Oberammergau for charm.
