Lucy at reception was awesome, very friendly and helpful which was a great welcome.

In general, the staffs are nice and helpful. The hotel serves the basic function. Maybe the facility is a little aging? but functioning though. The main issue is the drainage system might need some work to make it not release unpleasant oder through the sink. The first room had some bad smell but the staff is very nice to give another room which is much better. Strongly suggest that the hotel take care the bad smell coming from the sink. Overall, still recommend it due to the basic function and nice people there.

I am new to the Mercure brand but was impressed not only with the hotel amenities and cleanliness but with the staff, who were almost universally pleasant, easy going, and welcoming. The indoor pool area is great, as is the sauna. The hotel is located about a 50-minute walk from the hustle of downtown Chamonix (or, if you prefer not to walk and have no car, the hotel will give you a bus coupon to use local public transportation). I have 3 relatively minor complaints about this hotel: 1) The hot tub is nowhere near hot enough; they heat it only to about body temperature, hence it's not really a hot tub at all and there's little point to even getting into it. 2) The hotel is right next to the highway; if you have a room facing the highway, as I did, it is somewhat noisy. 3) The hotel rates were absurdly high when I visited - but this wasn't really the hotel's fault, as unfortunately my visit coincided with the UTMB trail running race and hotels throughout the entire valley were almost completely sold out. I believe the rates are normally half what I paid. Unless you come for the race itself, I'd advise avoiding the area in late August / early September. The hotel rates were so unexpectedly high that I had to cut my Chamonix visit short by 4 nights and go elsewhere just to stay within travel budget.

Great mountain view. Good breakfast. Excellent dinner but service slow as not enough staff Annoying details such as one and only tiny elevator 3 feet by 3 feet, for the number of rooms! The hotel does not provide shuttle bus. There is a public service with a very limited service and far from the hotel.
