We stayed for one night in March and found the hotel to be a very good standard. The Room was small but nicely appointed. The bar area is again small but has a lovely atmosphere and we enjoyed drinks before going out that evening. The Hotel is within walking distance of everything in Tignes Val Claret although parking is a little further than I wanted after off loading the hire car. All in all very nice and is a good three star property
Booked this hotel last minute on Expedia as we were chasing the snow. It's in a great location central to Val claret, almost ski in ski out. 2 mins walk uphill to tufs lift or a ski down to bollin / fresse or a bit further to Lanches or tichot. You're over the road from Val claret itself. Rooms were a good size, plenty of hot water and baths, not just showers. Breakfast was a good buffet and the ski room a good size and well located. Staff were very helpful. There's even a small spa. Recommended.
We spent a week here in mid-April, and found the convenience of the hotel wonderful, as well as it's boutique designer style. The room was small, but efficiently and delightfully designed. The restaurant was intimate, the food delightful, especially the seafood buffet. Very fresh and varied seafood, lovely buffet design. The bar was a joy to relax in and enjoy an aperitif in front of the fire. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. The ski room had everything at your fingertips, making it easy to walk across the street and pop on one's skis for a day's adventure.
A very nice small hotel with designer trappings. The hotel has lovely stylish rooms and a comfortable , but small lounge on the 4th Floor. Breakfast is very nice although Dinner was from a fixed menu and was not too my liking, albeit it was for others. Staff are helpful and pleasant.
We spent a week at half term at ski d'or. It Is one of the best ski hotels we have stayed in. The location is perfect ski in ski out, with the toboggan run outside an added bonus, the decor is modern and understated, our room was of a good size for three people and the staff were lovely. We were half board and the food was good, but very tricksy, 5 courses every night, with a very sophisticated menue, all seemed wasted on hungry skiers who could have happily lived on pizza, especially when travelling with children, but I think that is more about us. In short it was the perfect ski break, with the hotel making everything easy, it has freed us from package holidays and Mark Warner and we will definitely go back. My top tips are: book a parking space if driving, 30% of local ski hire across the road (hurray).
We visited Val Claret for a long weekend of early season skiing on the glacier. Hotel was easy to find and very welcoming. The owner was very pleasant and helpful and check in was quick and easy Room very clean and very functional nice bathroom with shower and good sized bath Easy acess to funicular and walk to restaurants and bars 1-2 mins Sadly restaurant was closed as too early in season but breakfast was provided and very good The most pleasing aspect of the hotel was the owners attitude that he would do anything to help and really offered great customer service in all aspects of our stay I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to come back and check the restaurant out
As with many hotels in Tignes, checking in involves unloading the car then driving off to a car park, in this case, about 400m away. The hotel is small, well furnished and has a dining room with a spectacular view. The small spa has a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Because of its hillside location, the hotel appears tiny from the road. My room, one level down, had a good view through a big window, which leads to my only issue. No net curtain means you are either in the dark or need to be at least partly dressed! Breakfast was excellent, generous and varied. The hotel has a good ski room with boot heaters. The staff are friendly, efficient and professional.
We had a weeks stay at the Ski d'Or in March 2015 and had a wonderful time. The welcome from the staff was first class, the facilities, decor and food were of the highest standard. It is a small and very friendly hotel with about 25 rooms on 3 floors located in the heart of Val Claret. The ski and boot room next to the front door and provides easy access to the Tufs lift (50 metres) or a ski down to the main lifts and bus terminus. Our bedroom we used was well appointed, had excellent decor, accessories and a great view of the mountains. The free WiFi is reliable. There was a very wide range of choice for breakfast, which was available from 0700 (far too early) to 1000. The evening meals were produced to a very high standard with a Savoyard theme on Tuesday and a sea food theme on Thursday. The bar and waiting staff were excellent, engaging and very pleasant. Overall, a well run and comfortable hotel with excellent food and easy access to the slopes. Highly recommended.
Stayed 2nd week of Easter, hotel certainly was not full and that probably added to the relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast buffet was adequate, great scrambled eggs. We didn't eat in the restaurant at night , we preferred to visit other restaurants in the area. The location is very good, close to Tufs lift and Apres ski. We were on first floor, room was quiet and compact, although pleasant decor. The only downside was that the bed was a bit uncomfortable, however, we would stay here again.
A great place to stay in Tignes. The hotel is right in the heart of the village, handy for bars, restaurants, shops and ski hire and yet was very peaceful. We had a prestige room, which was comfortable, an excellent size, all well presented and everything working as it should. Breakfast provided a very good choice. The owner and staff were always very friendly and polite. We could ski from across the road down to the main lift area, or the Tufs chair lift was a 30 metre walk further uphill, so very nearly door-to-door. After skiing, the spa area (hot tub, steam room and sauna) was a great place to relax. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, but the restaurant always seemed busy and the bar area was a decent spot for a nightcap. I have no real criticisms - some have suggested that it is expensive, but top ski resorts always are and in this case I thought that it was decent value for money in that respect.
