Excellent hotel for a bit of peace and quiet outwith the holiday season, staff were very professional and bar man was very friendly, gifted with a cake and thoughtful message for my birthday also. Views from the hotel down over Benidorm are breathtaking and the atmosphere is amazing, the lit up pools and varied shapes and sizes of buildings added a very luxurious feel to our stay.
We stayed here the first week in February as a party of twenty four golfers and were looked after very well we played both courses on site and one in Alicante ,unfortunately the weather was unusually cold and wet but we still managed to play and the courses held up, we used buggies keeping on the paths, we only had breakfast in the hotel which was excellent and snacks in the golf clubhouse which were very good, the hotel is a short taxi ride into Benidorm town for your entertainment, and the beach, I would love to come back and stay in the spring or summer with my family as his is a lovely hotel perfect for a family holiday.
Stayed here for a week in May 2017 and are returning May 2018. It is difficult to call it a hotel it is more like an estate.Built like an old spanish town with a town hall which is reception , a square in the middle with a bar and shop. The rooms are spread out over a large area which at times can be a bit confusing especially when you have visited Benidorm town for a couple of beverages. The rooms themselves are very big and clean with everything you need . The town is a short taxi ride away for about 5 euros each. We had breakfast included which was very good set overlooking a man made beach.A short buggie ride takes you to 2 excellent golf courses with again a good bar and food , Bars and food a little on the pricey side but is what to expect at an excellent resort. We will probably visit for many more years to come if the deal is kept at the right price.
Great stay .... full of sports teams for the football tournaments and training they give there) spectacular settings.... in the form of a village. Food options are limited in winter but it’s expected. Can hire motorized bikes which is fun, gym was technogym and good selection. Heated pool for winter !!!2nd visit and will return!
We stayed almost 2 weeks over New Years Evening. This was a trip for relaxation and golf. The concept of Villaitana is interesting with a modern "old" spanish town. Complete with plazas and church. The Level Premium rooms acceptable. Our original junior suit was terrible, dark, worn and far away from services. The two golfcourses are very nice. Poniente unlike anything we have played but a real challenge. Problem is FOOD! Food and the restaurants are not up to par. The main restaurant seating many hundreds of people is cold, noisy and uninviting. One morning we were unable to get inte the breakfast restaurant. We tried room service but unable to get any help because they were busy in the breakfast restaurant. Suggestion was to go to the clubhouse to get breakfast at own expense. When we got there it was closed for food until after our 10 o'clock teetime! Our first food that day was at 3 PM! One of the alternatives was a bar that was dark and dirty with worn furniture. For several days this was the only lunch alternative. Service up and down. There was a football team staying in the hotel. They were playing football in the corridor outside our room. When we complained they wanted to move us! Somehow we were the problem! We were offered 24/7 gym bur when the football team came the gym was closed to other guests. We spent a lot of time and money finding food during our 2 weeks! When complaining to the duty manager I met a cold shoulder. Asking about compensation he looked at me like something from another planet. We spent 5000 Euro at this hotel, maybe our worst investment for a long time?
We stayed at Villaitana resort only 3 days, but loved the place! We had booked a classic guestroom, but got a premium room with golf view. The room and bathroom were really spacious, bed very comfortable and we had a nice view to the golf course and sea. There are many 5 star hotels which have much poorer rooms than ours. The bathroom had both shower and bathtub. And the shower was a hand shower, which is nice, if you want to take a shower, but not wash your hair. The spa was unfortunately not open due to low season. The pool areas were beautiful and there were a lot of them. One was even heated. Breakfast was good and food at La Trattoria Restaurant was very good too. Unfortunately the other restaurants were not open during our stay. The two golf courses are located within a walking distance from the hotel and you'll get discount from the green fees, if you stay at Villaitana. It was very nice just to walk to the golf course without needing a car. But if you need to go shopping or e.g. to Benidorm, you'll need a car, as the resort is located few kilometers from the city. We loved the place during Christmas time, but I'm not sure how crowded it will be during high season. However we can strongly recommend the place.
Booked this hotel as bed and breakfast for 2 couples to stay and play golf. What we didn’t expect when we arrived was that there would be only about 20 guests staying there at the same time until more arrived later in the week. This didn’t put us off though. The rooms were the deluxe rooms and were huge. They are neat and clean. There wasn’t any in room tea facilities so we asked and the staff provided us with a kettle. We supplied the cups, milk and tea. All the staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Breakfast was nice so was the lunch in both the bar and golf club. We travelled into town to eat in the evening. The hotel has fantastic facilities and I would like to visit again when there are more guests so I can try the evening menus in the seven restaurants. Well done to all the staff, both hotel and golf course for making this an enjoyable experience.
We came to the Melia Villaitana 3 times already. Twice at the level where our experience was fantastic and since we have now a little baby we could only book the normal hotel. As we wanted to have a bit more comfort we decided to book a bigger room (family room) .I would like to emphasize that this hotel is supposed to be a 4 stars hotel. Please see pictures of the room! I am a regular user of melia hotel (gold card member) and I never had such an experience with the room, ever! This is very disappointing to see how melia treats their client and offer this types of room.
Stayed here for a week with several extended family members. The hotel is beautifull, stunning grounds and feels like an oasis well away from the hectic tourist area of Benidorm , but only a short taxi ride away to visit. Rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable . Some of our party’s room were very large, others standard size. The breakfast buffet was to a very high standard, and it takes a lot to please everyone in our group! Staff were pleasant and very helpful. We had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel .
This village style hotel looks building wise very nice, the rooms are a bit outdated but i guess in high season for family with kids it is a nice place. Reception services was terrible, just 2 people to receive a few 100 college’s it was taking too long. Breakfast was a lot of choice but horrible coffee machines . Golf courses look good but no time 2 test.
