This hotel doesn't even deserve a star let alone 3 star but the staff are 5 star they make the best of a bad situation ... We had to move hotels mid holiday as we couldn't stay any longer. My main concern is that you can't lock the rooms and my toddler was able to just walk on our the door, air con doesn't work blows out black dust, the food is rotten (the staff don't eat or drink any of it) you can hear everything in the rooms next door/upstairs/ downstairs... Place is faulty towers.. the staff really try there hardest but hotel is awful not family friendly
was a great hotel, all inclusive was great, some of the meals would be better than eating in some expensive restauarants, could not fault the hotel at all except plastic cups for drinking outside, or in hotel room, thought if in hotel would be glass, but only if you sit in the bar with them
Nice hotel, well located and food was good. Room was cleaned daily and towels soaps etc topped up and changed as required. Entertainment was excellent bar prices cheap, Spanish use it so that speaks volumes. Booked benidorm palace from agent in hotel Chris, he informed us that if we booked 6 people ( he knew we were a party of 6) we would get table reserved, bare in mind this man takes bookings for benidorm palace regularly, he informed us later in afternoon can't reserve table, so be warned.
Stayed here in August last year, was very dubious after reading the reviews and needn't have been. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were very tasty and varied, we had a roast dinner with home made Yorkshire puddings during our stay as well. Drinks were fine and sometimes we preferred some chilled water at the pool bar...this was bottled and not from the tap. Cocktails were sweet and strong I'd recommend these and if u have a suggestion they'll make it for you. The large pool was busy but clean and the top family pool was a little colder but very refreshing in the August sun. There were a few entertainment days around the pool which were fun with out being forceful. And the location of the hotel was ideal...the hill/slight incline it's on wasn't an issue for us at all and is exaggerated by many travellers it seems. Hotel rooms themselves were clean with great air con...not huge but fine and always plenty of hot water. Overall I'd definitely stay here again, my only advice would be bring your own coffee if you like a particular brand. And to the fellow brits abroad please be courteous and clear away your empty cups and use the ashtrays provided round the pool...makes for a better experience for all travellers. Thanks to all the lovely staff who made our stay a pleasure especially the lovely chap on reception(sorry I've forgotten his name)
A group of 6 of us stayed here for 5 nights. All of us thought the hotel was great for the price that we paid. We all always found something at meal times, the food is usually lukewarm but we just used the microwave when we needed. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean with comfortable beds. We did have one night where the alarms all went off as someone had let off a fire extinguisher. It was a bit of a disaster as many people were scared thinking there was a fire. Police came too. The hotel staff didn't really keep us up to date on what was happening but was grand once all the commotion was over with. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Gala Placidia and would definitely return if we were to return to Benidorm
Hotel rooms were basic and yes you can hear everything through the paper thin walls.food ok but only warm,we used the microwave to warm the food up.the christmas day dinner was fantastic as well as the staff.all inc drinks are as per cheap local brands. location was great for us and thats the only reason we booked it.no free internet you have to buy it via a token machine in reception, €15 per week.hotel is as it says on the tin, cheep and cheerfull 3* accommodation.if you want to keep room on until 6pm . it'll cost you €35.just don't expect the ritz because your not going to get it....
Hotel nice and clean staff friendly only down side was the food not much choice and abit bland .i have stayed in many hotels in benidorm usually service group ones they have a better food choice. Cheap and cheerful.
Do not stay here if you wish to sleep or eat!! Walls are beyond paper thin and you can here the slightest movement in the room next or over you...even sneezing?!!! Food was awful, bland, cold and some days inedible. Salad bar gets the 1 star but who wants a salad on holiday?! Cleaners do come around every day but the sheer noise of them dragging the furniture around was like a dinosaur raw at the crack of dawn. Would've rather paid more for a better hotel than suffer the consequence of no sleep and going hungry. Do not stay here.
Myself and my wife have just spent a week at the Gala Placidia. The staff were polite and were happy to engage with you when you engaged with them they were polite and friendly. The food was more than adequate with plenty of choice at each meal time there was something for everyone and plenty of it. The room was basic but comfortable and serviced every day. All in all I would say the Gala Placidia represented good value for money in a central location. I have read other reviews and I will just say this dont pay for a three star all inclusive and then moan when its not five star. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that the bar closes at 12 and you cant even buy a drink after that. We booked again for next year at reception before we departed.
Just getting round to leaving our review from our visit last Month. We booked as it was cheap, all these people leaving bad reviews want luxury but are tight as knights obviously! I found staff friendly, rooms were nice, both pools were clean, kids entertainment each night was just right for them. I thought the food every night was lovely, massive salad bar selection, hot foods, and lovely fruit and puddings. Lunch was great too, nicest paella I’ve ever had! Breakfast was fab, churros and pastries and always a slightly different selection of hot foods to keep it interesting. I put on 5lbs in a week! Drinks never seemed to get you drunk though 😂 Great location just away from the busy noisy areas. We went to the island, we went to the cross, we went all along the beach, we went on the land train, we walked to old town. Benidorm is super cheesy but clean and friendly. We were a group of 25, 6 different families, some with young children and my mum celebrated her 60th and my 81yr old nan even loved it! I’ve enjoyed all different types of holidays, camping, 5 star suites, cottages, all inclusive hotels... it’s what you make it. The sun is shining and you’re on holiday, enjoy yourself!
