Hotel Gala Placidia

The reception, restaurant and bathroom in my room had been modernised but everywhere else was old tired and sometimes broken. I'd say out of 10 staff 3 were nice, the rest were rude and ignorant. And before you think it was a language barrier, it wasn't. I spoke in Spanish and English. It didn't matter. I was blatantly ignored at times. The food was average at best and rubbish at worst. The room was cleaned daily with clean linen and towels which for a hotel I suppose is pretty standard but for this place we were very grateful. In fact it was the best thing about our whole place. We paid a lot of money for all inclusive but went out every day and night. It was the only way to enjoy our holiday. Even chilling round the pool was ruined by big groups of stag and hen do's shouting and swearing. But apparently the hotel doesn't have them. Joke. Just don't book here.

Just back from Gala Placidia. Went in a group of 9 for a 60th birthday shindig. My own opinion is, if you've booked to go and have spotted some less than encouraging reviews don't worry! The hotel was busy and is popular with stags/hens but the atmosphere was relaxed and everyone was there to enjoy and not to be a nuisance. A good laugh around the pool each day and we all really enjoyed the choice of food on offer. Good location as well, on a slight incline but nothing serious. If you want a change at meal times try the Yorkshire Pride bar round the corner but the hotel food was great. Staff were relaxed and helpful, especially on reception and the rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels in place. We'd definitely go again, great place.

We are just back from a week here, the staff were nice and helpful, rooms were a bit tired but fine, the food was nice always something everyone can eat lots of fresh salad cheese meats rolls etc at every meal times including hot buffet ,bar in the restaurant where you can have wine sangria soft drinks with your meal etc, in between meal times there is a toasties machine and snacks such as hot dogs and chips but the lower pool bar with a fridge with cheese & ham to prepare your own snacks, drinks were good plenty choices of cocktails :-) not that we were extremely bothered as we were out until 3-4am most nights but the hotel is pretty noisy as a lot of groups such like hens & stags arrive from Thursday onwards, definitely wouldn't take my kids here but it was just myself & my partner, good value for a 3 star hotel.

Visited with a party of 7 for a friends 40th birthday. Didn't know what to expect as mixed reviews, well i can say don't believe all that's written about this hotel. We arrived to be greeted by a friendly staff member, hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms was clean tidy and ok for a cheap holiday. Beds were very comfortable with memory foam mattress and pillow, rooms were cleaned and beds made everyday. Pool opened at 10am and not far from bar which helps lol. The food was lovely full english breakfast 4** roast dinner, curry etc all lovely. Would say there wasnt a lot of choice but still lovely. Staff were friendly and worked really hard, couldn't fault them. The hotel is placed perfectly, not far from the town walking distance but far enough you dont get all the noise form the clubs. Would defiantly go back again and highly recommend this hotel.

Well. If you want a cheap holiday ( we went all inclusive) with friendly staff, clean rooms, clean pool areas , close to all amenities of Benidorm, and great food, this is your hotel. Couldn't fault it. The food was great. Something for everyone. And great quality. Everything clean, rooms, dining areas , pools and bars. Will definitely go back. Some small areas could do with attention, slight mould in bathroom and maybe upgrade the air con but overall a great place for a 3 star hotel.

Just come home from a weeks stay with 14 women, we had a ball at this hotel. The food was nice and the all inclusive drinks where plentiful. Full English or pastries and fruit for breakfast, always fresh salads with lunch and evening meal with a choice of meat, fish and pasta. At meal times you could also get bottles of wine on the all inclusive or jugs of sangria. Staff really friendly, hotel clean but rooms very basic, not far from everywhere. Would stay here again!

Stayed in this hotel last weekend half board with 2 pals. Now dependent on the reviews you read you will likely be concerned about booking to stay here. However it really is dependent on what you are looking for in this resort. If you are looking for total luxury then look elsewhere. If you are looking for a comfortable environment with rooms clean and tidy and a decent selection of food to choose from whilst not being too picky then this is the place for you. The hotel had a BBQ one of the evenings which was eaten all fresco with entertainment to follow. Decent size pools x 2 and enough loungers if your chasing the sun around. Overall if your looking to have top entertainment, fantastic food and a huge room then book elsewhere. For a fun long weekend with pals to enjoy the sights and entertainment of Beni (and there are a few of them) then this would suffice. Staff friendly on the desk too.

Loved this hotel staff were friendly and room was always clean food was good couldn't rate the puddings as I don't really like sweets but ice cream was good will definatly stay here again location was good it was only a short walk into the town pool was good to they had a children's pool then an adult type pool the drinks were plentiful definatly recommend going full board to make full use of the facility

We have just got back from 4 nights at this hotel for a friends 40th and reading the reviews we were a bit worried but there was no need. Rooms are basic but clean, staff friendly and fun and food was really nice with roast dinners, BBQ buffets and much more. You can help yourself to toasties or snacks if you miss breakfast which was also good. There was always beds around the pool and there were 7 of us so no problem there and they have 2 pools which are both lovely. Would definitely stay again

Not the best hotel but defiantly NOT the worst pool area was busy clean and tidy bar was decent size and well stocked Marcos the barman was an arrangement tit but hey what Spanish person not making money off u isn't reception and bar area indoors were clean and very tidy the restaurant was fine and food was nice I thought but still never used it much all the lifts work fine rooms not the best and a bit cramped with 3 adults in walls were marked etc but clean. beds were comfy air con was cold and a decent sized balcony what more do ye need I would recommend to stay with the lads or lady's but I wouldn't bring my kids here in fact I wouldn't bring them to Benidorm at all best party place in the world for me cheap as chips
