We stayed at the gala placidia in December, there was 10 of us! We read some reviews before going as a friend had booked it being the cheapest available and thought we were going to be going to a right down and out place!!!! BUT...... we were so surprised and shocked to find it was nice, clean, tidy, and also the food way nice!! NOTHING like the horror stories we had read about in the reviews!! The only thing we did feel was that being December you had a lot of the Spanish there on their holidays and some of them would be quit rude!! Even the entertainment was more for the Spanish!! Hardly anything for the British but we weren’t far from the main strip so entertainment wasn’t a problem down there!! There is a bit of a steep climb up to the hotel about 100-150 yards give or take as I didn’t accurately measure it !! Staff on reception were helpful! Mobility scooters had an overnight charging station which was good!! we have also booked to go back in may!! Hope this helps you decide as some of the reviews are horrendous but we must speak as we found it to be!!
I asked the gentleman on the desk at the reception as we were leaving if there was another hotel of the same name in the resort. Of course there isn't another one but in between my last visit and this I have read some poor reviews. The Gala Placidia is a fantastic 3 star hotel with extremely friendly staff, great facilities and lovely food. I cannot recommend it enough, just returned from a 4 night stay Friday-Tuesday and had a wonderful time all inclusive. A great variety of food and drinks both non and alcohol beverages, two pools, two bars. Could not have asked for a better place will definitely return on my next visit to Benidorm.
Arrived 6th April, arrived late at Night,Staff informed us that there was snacks to eat when we looked it was food not fit fot a Dog,entertainment was poor,we asked.for s Family room which never happened so family of 4 in a little room,1 of us got bitten by who knows what in the room,I asked for a different room at midnight only to be told that was the best type of room. We sat outside and a plastic glass with ice dropped from a balcony and hit my daughter on the shoulder, pair if pants in the Swimming pool along with general rubbish, we moved out after 1st night as we never got a wink of sleep through screaming and shouting and our door getting banged early hours,I asked for some sort of refund which i never got, please do not waste your money on this place.
Ive stayed here quite a few times over the last year with both a group of men or just a couple of us or just last last week with my son. The manager John is a top fella and will do what he can to help,i have enjoyed staying here and will do so again in Aug with my Wife and Son .
just back from.a.5 day stay with the family this hotel wasnt great for kids despite ready online they dont accept large groups of men and women when we arrived place was filled with stag and hens which made hotel very very noisy at nite which wasnt good :( atmosphere round top pool not great no music playing or anythin hotel very run down rooms tiny!! good point is the hotels so handy to everythin we wete able to head out to beach everyday we ate out aswell as didnt fancy the food. defo recommend mundomar esp for kids we had a great day there..wont b back to this hotel think old town is far better nicer hotels!!!!
Stayed here for week for Easter weather was excellent, hotel rooms are in need of refurb but are cleaned every day ,This hotel is close to the beach and all the entertainment 10 mins walk ,good overall stay and would be good for young children
A very good value and comfortable hotel. Good friendly service. Have stayed before and will stay again. Good location. Convenient for bars shops and beach. 10 minutes walk takes to you to Levante promande. .
Stayed for a week end of March, after quick transfer from airport , arrived at 9,15 pm , put bags in room and went for drink in bar , pleasent staff , rooms cleaned every day ,Entertainment not the best , there were a few Spanish families there and children were dancing the entertainment lady did not sing the songs in English which I thought strange as most hotels teach them both , karaoke on two nights , it does say on tui site that they don't accept stag and hen parties but there were quite a few there, food was good , plenty of choices at all meals , pool area good, separate children's pool and nice pool down steps with outside bar (didn't open till the Thursday of our stay) I do think if people are by pool , bar should be open .only complaint we have is that all inclusive finished at 12 on day of departure no matter what time you were leaving , as we didn't arrive till late you lose nearly a day , all in all a good stay and would return based on value for money
I can only speak as I find and I had no problems at all with this Hotel. We travelled as a group of 6 men on our annual Jolly Boys holiday. Age range from mid 30's to 70. As I was the organiser and persuaded them to come to Benidorm this year I was a bit worried about the bad reviews, but I needen't have worried. We arrived at reception to be greeted by a very nice lady who explained the all inclusive to us and the fact that we could have a free spa at the sister hotel The Dynastic. Room: The hotel was spotlessly clean and although the rooms could do with a refurb they were clean and comfortable. The heater/Air conditioner was very noisy and seemed to switch on/off of it,s own accord. In the Bathroom you are provided with shampoo and shower gell dispensers in the shower and a soap dispenser by the sink. The bathroom looked brand new so perhaps they have been refurbished? Food: I didn't eat much at the hotel as I don't like being held to meal times but the guys who did eat said the food was great. I only had breakfast on a couple of occasions and one evening meal and all I can say is it was standard hotel fayre. The restaurant looks as though it has been refurbished as the tables and chairs looked brand new. Drink: The all inclusive drinks were Amstel lager on draught and local spirits. There is also a small cocktail list which are made to order and not from a machine. The measures are as large or as small as you want them. The bar staff are very friendly ( except for the one in the yellow T shirt). Some staff would serve you pints if you asked for them and some half pints. Again depending who was serving you the could only serve 2 drinks at a time. Entertainment: Didn't stay in much for the evening entertainment but saw that they had a kids disco in the evening and various games during the day. Facilities: 2 great pools with a poolside bar by the adult pool (The big pool on the lower level) There are 2 small lifts which can only fit 3 people and a vending machine in reception for late night snacks, water etc. There were a couple of stag and hen parties there but they were well behaved and didn't cause any problems. I have been honest in my opinions and I can understand that if you have some particularly badly behaved guests it could ruin your stay. As I understand it from this year they are not accepting bookings of more than 3 rooms so it remains to be seen if they adhere to that, if they do this could be a little gem of a hotel. The proof of the pudding is that the other guys who were with me all want to come back next year!
Stayed for 5 days as family of 4 drop off is at a hotel at the bottom of the road you have to walk up a slight incline draging cases and hand luggage not suitable for the less mobile not told this on booking asked for walk in shower disabled room only to be told we don't have them here at this hotel not told that either when booking as I always check when booking as we need one. We were told this hotel this hotel did not allow big groups well this did not happen i'am no spoilsport but some of the behaveiour wasn't good , the Next nite they shipped them out and a worse group came in a total nightmare , food there had no food ingredient sign's food very basic I'm not a fussy eater will eat anything but the food here was bland under cooked and cold even at 1pm when the restaurant opened as for the snack bar it's hot dogs no rolls burgers and fries all day every day all ways cold . The bar was a joke you can only get 2 drinks at a time very disappointed the all inclusive finished at 12 noon when you don't leave till 7pm at night. Would not stay here again m But love Benidorm.
