I arrived on the 10th of november at 13:30 in the afternoon, the rest of the group were not due to arrive until 7pm in the evening so i was made sit in reception for 5 and a half hours as they wouldnt let me check in, i seen many people check in and they were not charged deposits but yet our group was charged €200 deposit per room. Me and a friend split the deposit so we both paid €100 each on our card (we were informed it was a pre-authorization), on departure (the13th) we both checked our accounts and my card has been charged the deposit amount on the 13th, on our day of departure and has been deducted from my bank balance, on further enquiry i am told it will take 5-7 days to be returned to my account! Also upon asking the Manager/recptionist why we were the only group charged €200 deposits, his response was we'll do what we want!

Stayed a week all inclusive here end of October. Good location. rooms are very basic but were cleaned every day. Hotel is in need of a renovation. Reception staff never once acknowledged you or said good morning etc.All dining room staff were very pleasant apart from 2 older men who never smiled once.. there was a good selection of food and a varied menu, but 9 times out of 10 it was not hot enough, Snacks were also available. . entertainment was so so. Bar staff were very nice and served up to 12midnight. would give it 4stars if food had been hotter. acknowledged

Chose this hotel for obvious reasons cheap and great location and I know it’s out of season BUT staff seemed tired bored and just basically uninterested apart from the odd smile ! No top shelf spirits even tho all inclusive, food just ok breakfast lunch and dinner and entertainment poor ! Room cleaned everyday but still dirty walls etc and speaking of walls PAPER THIN !!! You can’t un hear some things ! Not the best 3 star I’ve stayed in......

We came for a weeks holiday very last minute as was supposed to go lanzarote with monarch which got cancelled. This hotel is great and cannot comprehend any of the bad reviews on trip advisor. We had a nice spacious room which was spotless, comfy beds and clean towels every single day. The shower was hot and very powerful too. The food was really nice, fry ups galore, meat salad and fresh rolls and bread a plenty. They did theme nights so was paella and fish on the menu. The fruit and puddings were varied and the coffees and juices and beer flowed.there are two pools which are large and sunny, there are pool tables and table tennis and entertainment in the evenings. I often go 4 and 5 star but this hotel deserves more recognision. I had no complaints at all and will return one day as Benidorm is a fun place to go. Thanks gala placidia for a great week in the Sun xx

I wouldn’t read all the bad reviews regarding this hotel. I am the 1st to complain if something is not up to the standard I would expect & I have high standards. First impressions of the hotel were very good. We were greeted by John on reception a very welcoming guy. Sorted the checking in out & our rooms were already for us. In our party there was 13 of us including 7 children (ages from 3 – 16). We have the family room, which to be fair was on the small size, 4 single beds didn’t leave a lot of room, but we wouldn’t be spending more time in the room. The bathroom was of decent size, with a bath & a very powerful shower. We had the cleaner in everyday with towels etc... We had problems shutting our patio door & quick chat with John & it was sorted. We found the staff very friendly indeed especially Danilo in the canteen always smiling & having a laugh. We stayed as all-inclusive guest, the breakfast were good fresh fruit, toast, Danish pastries & the hot buffet. Dinnertime there was the salad section with the cold cooked meats etc….. everyday there was a big paella even cooked it outside 1 of the days. Evening meals plenty of choice. There was the snacks during the day of chips, hot dogs, burgers & you could do fresh toasties. The hotel was fully decorated for Halloween even all the staff dressed up. It was a theme night in the restaurant too – a nice touch as we had got with kids. The all inclusive drinks were ok, I think people need to remember this is a 3 star hotel in Benidorm. The kids loved both of the swimming pools, I have to say it was too cold for me though. There was pool & table tennis also. The pool is a euro a time with the table tennis a deposit of 10 euros for the bats. You can buy tokens for the wifi – I think it was a couple of euros for a few hours or 10 euros for 3 days. We only did the evening entertainment on the 1st night catching the last half an hour of karaoke. 1 bloke sang Country Road, he was outstanding could have been on the x factor, he was that good. We were getting picked up at 7.30am, so not in time for breakfast, but John arranged for the cold buffet to be open, so we could get a coffee & a Danish. A nice touch again. Overall we had a brilliant time, great memories & 1 or 2 stories.

Went with a group of girls for a hen and 50th so quite a mixed age group, for 5 days. Great location and great pools... The food was pretty decent too, always something to suit everyone every day! The rooms were basic but fine... Wouldn't necessarily take a family there, but good for groups... Overall great value for money! Would definitely go back! Rooms were basic but very clean. Location is fantastic too. Ice lollies on your all inclusive..great idea! ..... Where else do you get that? Lol

After reading the reviews about this hotel I was apprehensive about taking my children there for a four night stay. We were a party of 13 and the ages of our kids were 3 to 16 and 6 adults. We arrived to a very friendly welcome by John who allocated us 3 rooms next door to each other on floor 7 as I had requested. He explained clearly about meal times, snack times and offered us all extra room keys for the older kids (we didn't have them). My room was exactly what I expected, 2 single beds and a camp bed which were all very comfy. The TV had a few English channels and CITV kept my 3 year old quiet when needed. It was clean and had ample storage and the balcony overlooked both pools. We went down after unpacking and this was another worry due to the awful reviews. I don't why I was concerned because there was something for everyone. Chips, pizza and nuggets for the kids so they were happy, a lovely fresh salad bar, selection of cold meats and salami and then the hot counter where there was meat and vegetables. Most days there was paella and one lunch they served this outside on the pool (see picture). The desserts were amazing and there was always a tub off ice cream if you didn't want cake. On Halloween the staff made a fantastic effort and the buffet was outstanding (see pictures). Overall we had a wonderful time, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend the Gala Placida. Thank you and hopefully see you next year x

Can’t describe how disappointing this hotel was.. The moment me and my friend walked into the room we saw how bad things will get. Mould on walls, curtains furniture, The balcony was very basic, broken table, the shower was broken, if you are all inclusive then don’t expect to get drunk as the drinks are very watered down. Dining.. breakfast was ok’ish, lunch, disastrous, dinner, that was ok, snacks not bad if I’m honest, majority of the staff were very rude more the bar staff and only a few restaurant staff were nice.. from the outside of the hotel entrance it looks really nice until you go into your hotel room and see it’s all very basic. I was glad to check out. I usually post pics of the hotel I’m at when I go on holiday , but this time I was too embarrassed to do that on this hotel.

Stayed, family of 4 for a week. All inclusive. Room very small, no fridge, no tea making facilities, not even a bottle of water. In all fairness, the room was kept spotless. The restaurant was more like a works canteen, tables laid up with a paper placemat, a knife, and fork and a glass. Food mostly was tasteless and overcooked so we ate out most of the time. The waiters and waitresses were polite and efficient but lacked any communication skills except for the delightful Noelea who was lovely. The snack bar food was diabolical. Both pools were kept clean but were in the shadow of other hotels most of the day, therefore, weren't very well used. The poolside furniture was in very poor condition.Evening entertainment very poor. The drinks at the bar were local wines and spirits served at times by Miguel who was a gem.An asset to this hotel, On the other hand, the blonde lady I think her name was Kim was definitely in the wrong job and would be more suited to being a prison warder. This hotel was in a good location for the beach and nightlife. Sorry folks won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it

Has recently stopped here and I can honestly say this is a great place to stop. Staff are exceptional and friendly. Food is great but one exception was breakfast, we didn’t think much of that. Rest of the food was great. Little noise from traffic and people coming in at night time. Pools are good but very very cold, just take care getting in. We loved stopping here and will be next year, Well worth it.
