Excellent location, close to Levante Beach. Well appointed rooms ,nice pool area, although it tended to be a bit shaded in the afternoon. We stayed on a half board basis. Food was varied and fresh however as someone who believes eating out to be the highlight of a holiday, the buffet style of dining is not a particular favourite of mine. I’d definitely stay here again and am happy to recommend .
We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms were light and airy. This holiday was a lot cheaper that would normally pay in Lanzarote so we were not expecting similiar but this hotel lived above expectationwoulde definitely would go back. The food was good but much admit that we have better and there are so many restaurants near by.
Recently stayed four nights at this Hotel with my wife for a getaway chilled break. From moment we arrived to when we left we were impressed by the friendly efficient staff bright modern foyer and lovely pool area (too cold to swim) We had a corner Room with brilliant views over city mountain and Sea couldn't ask for better never had such a wide choice of food at Breakfast and Dinner lively waiters very pleasant and efficient all in all a brilliant time.... We will be going back
Really have mixed feelings about this hotel as there are some great things about it but also some really bad points that let it down. I had really high expectations as its not just suppose to be a 4* but a SUPERIOR 4*, sadly it didn't meet expectations. I also felt like they were extremely tight and money grabbing. I was here with my 12 year old niece for just 3 nights to catch up with an old friend. Here are the pro's & cons, judge for yourself: PROS - Great location, very central, but enough away from from the beach bars that you can sleep. - Nice welcome, although for some strange reason we were asked to pay for our room before we even got the key. I didn't mind paying in advance but found it a bit odd. - We were able to get a late check-out which was great as we had a midnight flight. The charge for this was 45 Euros, to extend check-out till 6pm. This didn't include lunch or anything. -The common areas of the hotel - lobby, pool areas, restaurant etc are very nicely done and appealing. - In my opinion the food was excellent. Sufficient variety that we always found things we liked, but more importantly it was very well prepared. - The room we had (1517) was spacious. And being a corner room had a lovely big balcony with views to the sea. Loved it. There was also a folding drying rack where you could hang yr towel / swimsuits to dry. Nice touch. However as per below there were negatives. - Hotel was clean. CONS - The bathroom feels like a prison cell. Not because of the size but because its just grey concrete /plaster. There is NOTHING luxurious about it. The only tiling is around the bathtub. Even the floor is cracked and chipped grey concrete, very unpleasant. (see photo) - The rooms have not been refurbished to a high standard, the bed light fittings are not set into the wall flat (see photo), and the bed & bedside table are not flat on the floor as the floor is uneven so it all wobbles. Not my idea of a superior 4* hotel. - The room was far toooooo hot! I know it was late October but the temperatures were still in the mid 20s during the day, and at night it was still very uncomfortable. I can't imagine anyone would have used the heating during this time and feel the air con should have been on still for those that need it as an option. - There is tea /coffee/ milk but only for day 1. This is very tight fisted for this level of hotel. never seen anything like it. I had my own teabags and just went out & bought milk as I do like the option of tea on the balcony. - If you require a pool towel, they are held at reception. You pay a 10 Euro deposit & 1 Euro cleaning charge for each. - There is a room safe which is good, However...... yes you guessed it, there is a fee to use it & also a deposit has to be left for the key!! - The indoor pool has a sign on the door saying swimming hats in that pool are obligatory!!!! Never seen that at a hotel pool - and funny how it doesn't apply to the outdoor pool. People were disregarding the rule. not sure how enforced it is. The interesting thing is it all comes down to £££££ because yes you guessed it, if you don't have a swim hat they are sold on reception!!!! So all in all, we enjoyed our stay, especially the food, but because of their money grabbing ways, & the horrid bathroom, I think next time I would choose a different hotel. To me there was nothing superior about the Belroy.
GENERAL INFORMATION. By benidorm standards, a '4 star superior' rating is very high indeed. So it is reasonable to have high expectations, given the cost per night. Only a very tiny number of hotels can match the official star rating and yet this hotel is only ranked number 31 on Trip Advisor (and ranked 27 on Trivago). During the six day stay, I was able to make sense of many of the comments in the good and bad reviews. THE SCENE. I am in benidorm once or twice a month, but this was the first time that I have stayed at this hotel. I will not deny that there are many very fine features to it, but if they had offered me a refund after 15 minutes, I would of been straight back out the door. RECEPTION. 6/10. The reception desk is the nerve centre of any hotel, and I was very taken back with the rather short and shape manor I was treated with upon arrival. This particular individual (who might be part of the management) has been mentioned in one or two other reviews. This attitude was maintained, when on the 2nd day the restaurant suggested that I go to reception and ask for a re-repint of a damaged dinner card. I was ignored for about ten minutes, then told to come back after dinner. This I did, but nothing had been done, however a younger lady was very apologetic and printed me a new one immediately. On the penultimate day, I asked about a late check out for the following day. I was told this was impossible as the hotel was fully booked. This was NOT TRUE, I found 3 websites, with which I could of made a booking on that day. To prove a point, I did do this, and then cancelled. (Hotel please note I still have paperwork). Yes, many people were arriving and leaving each day, but there is no excuse for this. It ruined the plans for the final 2 days. On a positive note, that most of the staff members in reception, are incredibly pleasant and helpful. On the final day, one young lady sorted out some towels and a key for a changing room so the indoor pool could be used during the very long wait for the coach. THE ROOM. 8/10 I opened the door to my room, and was speechless. Frankly, it was what you would expect in a '25 euroes a night' youth hostel. Certainly not as described when I made my original enquiries. There was no terrace/balcony. The draws in wardrobe would not open properly, the rail for hanging up shirts etc was useless as there was only about a 14 inch gap between the rail and the top of the safe. I have to be fair, and say that reception did take note of my complete dissatisfaction, and did relocate me to another room further down the corridor. A massive improvement. Room did have small balcony/terrace, a fridge, a proper cupboard, tea making facilities, a flat screen tv, and a safe. I would have to say, that nearly all the other guests that I spoke to were very happy with there rooms. The room cleaning was of a high standard. THE RESTAURANT. 9/10. Restaurant managers are generally known for their charm. Not this guy. He was rather grim and officious and never smiled. However, once in restaurant, the staff are very good and a real credit to the hotel. A really nice welcome on the first night (and 1 or 2 of the other nights). Always helpful and friendly. The food was very good, and prepared to a high standard. INDOOR POOL. 8/10 Although fairly small, is heated properly, and a very pleasant and relaxing experience. OUTDOOR POOL AREA. 7/10 This time of year, the pool is a bit too chilly for most. However the pool area is the perfect place to relax on a warm day. Although near to the road, it is still fairly quiet and serene. A very little thing that also surprised me. On the 2nd morning I ordered 2 Cola Lites from the pool bar. Both cans had expanded at the top and bottom, big time. I would not of minded so much if the contents were ok. In fact they were both flat. This is the best bit, the barman told me that Cola Lite was supposed to taste like this. (A ' 4 star' hotel !!). He declined my offer to compare them, with a can of Cola Lite from my room fridge. He gave me a can of something else. WHAT ELSE IN THE HOTEL. 9/10 There is public access to the following parts of the hotel. Belroy Cafe, a street side terrace. Umai Restaurant, japanese cuisine. L'Abadia Gastropub, pub gastro bay. These are all well managed, well staffed and positive experieces ENTERTAINMENT. 7/10 Certainly not to our taste, on the other hand, there were many of the guests who were happy with it. LOCATION. 10/10. The hotel, has a perfect central position. 10//15 walk to the centre of the old town. Or a similar walk in the opposite direction for the night entertainments. The nearest point of the Levante beach is less than 10 minutes walk. IN CONCLUSION. The majority of the guests staying at this hotel, are very satisfied with their visits. The hotel has a wonderful premises, and endless possibilities. I did feel very let down on one or two issues. Improve the customer service, and the hotel ranking (Trip Advisor / Trivago) will improve.
Checked in on Mon and out on Fri.The hotel staff were very polite and friendly,hotel was really clean and the breakfast was fabulous. We had an amazing few days. And would certainly love to come back.
First time at this hotel but will not be the last. Excellent location, very helpful staff and hotel very clean, good food and caters for all. We noticed an Asian family who it looked like had food specially prepared for them and they all tucked in happily. We were also very pleased to have the option of Spanish Dishes each night and we chose them over the English dishes, they were all excellent. If you like to dance the position of the Belroy is excellent for Pepes Bar (next door) 9e entrance includes 1 drink then you pay as normal. Also only minutes away for the Dunnes Hotel Restaurant / Bar on sea front where from 8.30 onwards to 12.00 you can dance to the entertainment and wine only 1.75e a glass & very good rose, further down the promenade walk (facing out looking at Lion of Benidorm the Romanos Cafe Bar is on far left but when entertainment comes on drinks become expensive but excellent entertainment (Spanish singing group) and you can dance all night). Take the Traveltown tour to the village up in mountains, not far away a good half day tour. Also an entrance free /libra must the Colon Villa in old town, we have been to Benidorm many times but only this week found the villa which proves every time you go to Benidorm you find something different to do.We are back at Christmas-x-.
First time for us at The Belroy, what a little gem of a hotel. Fabulous sea view room, Excellent restaurant, Belroy Caffe bar good for a relaxing drink and snacks. Good pool area and bar. All staff very friendly. We will be back.
2 Sachets of coffee on arrival, none for the rest of the stay? Wow, they are tight! At least you get a kettle, but maybe they will charge for the use of on departure! Good job we can afford go and buy some😁
Arrived after midnight pleasant staff member checked us in and told us we had a meal waiting for us in the restaurant Nice room on 4th floor overlooking the busy Mediterranean/Europa junction but no problem sleeping with balcony door closed. Following morning asked reception staff about possible upgrade but unfortunately hotel was fully booked. Asked again later and the very helpful Jake discussed an upgrade to the apartments in the next block. Took us and showed us and apartment on 10th floor although the apartment on offer was on 7th floor lovely sea view Agreed to accept the offer but apartment not available until today (Friday 15th September) so will pack after breakfast and take luggage to reception around mid day and leave the luggage until around 2pm when apartment should be ready. Jake (originally from Cheshire) was extremely pleasant and helpful life is so much easier with a helpful member of staff. Take a bow Jake, top of the class ! I will follow up this review after we move to the apartment.
