This Hotel is one of the first Hotels in Calpe, it is completely renovated and has nice big rooms and studio's, with a lot of comfort. In a very quiet area very close to beach and Town. The service is excellent. You will get a high value for your money. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Also nice restaurant and bar.

This was our second visit to the Galetamar, see my previous review for full details which pretty much sums this trip up. The staff here are lovely, all of them and are unobtrusive but when you need help nothing is a problem. Cleanliness wise the hotel is immaculately kept by the domestic team, our room was cleaned and towel's changed daily. Food was once again good, breakfast especially was excellent. Good choice of mains, starter's and desserts where offered each evening together with an excellent salad bar.

This smaller hotel is located at the edge of Calpe, in a quiet neighbourhood. The walk to the tourist center with its many bars and restaurants takes around fifteen minutes, but several big supermarkets can be found in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Our room was spacious, spotless and seemed to be refurbished recently. It had very good beds and the free WiFi-signal was sufficiently strong. Also the bathroom was modern and contained a prime shower. We took a room with a kitchenette, basically for having a fridge. This kitchen could be improved, for example by extending the availability of kitchen utensils. The hotel has its own restaurant and it is therefore possible to reserve on half- or full board. Breakfast and dinner are served in buffet form and the offer is tasty and sufficiently comprehensive.

We booked just an overnight stay and would book again if in the area. Reception was polite and efficient. The hotel is well fitted and bright and airy. Everywhere is well looked after and extremely clean. Our room was on the first floor and had a partial sea view from the large balcony. Fiitings in the room were in good order and well kept. The bathroom was excellent with a large walk in shower with spa jets and a seat. A minor criticism was that we both found the mattresses to be too firm. The outside area with 2 pools was very pleasant and well cared for. There is a gate leading off to the sea which is just a few steps away and has a promenade to the main beach front areas. The dining room is very pleasant with a nice buffet service area. We were booked half board and found the food to be OK but perhaps could have been a little more imaginative for both dinner and breakfast though both were adequate. Overall it was good value and a very pleasant hotel in a good location.

Upon arrival we were upgraded to a superior room on the fourth floor with views of the sea and the late evening sun. The balcony was enormous with two sets of tables and chairs. A walk in shower with power jets in the bathroom, and a large lounge and separate bedroom. The beds were quite hard and took some getting used to. English, Spanish and German television with BBC and ITV available. The hotel is about a fifteen minute walk to the main beach and bars, but there were a few bars dotted around the streets near the hotel. The food was adequate(we were half board), quite a good selection of main courses but the sweets were a little uninspiring, It was my birthday whilst we were there and the hotel had left a nice gift and card in the room and, on my birthday( to my embarrassment) they walked into the dining room with a nice cake singing 'Happy birthday' and a bottle of wine, nice touch!! We had a very pleasant stay, the staff were friendly and were all very helpful.

All reviews were good so we were looking forward to our trip. The hotel while a little old fashioned is in a good position for exploring the beautiful coastline. There is a very steep hill up to the main reception entrance which could be a problem for guests with poor mobility. All areas are very clean and staff very friendly. Our room was a good size with plenty of storage a nice bathroom and great shower. The down side was the balcony. We were north facing, so never got the sun, we overlooked the car ports and access road to the kitchens. To make matters worse there were 2 dogs barking continuously in the private property facing us. We asked to be moved to a higher floor on another side of the hotel. This was not possible as all rooms were occupied. We found out later from another guest that a large proportion of the hotel are in fact privately owned apartments. The pool area was pleasant, very quiet with lots of free sunbeds. Breakfast was good but the servery was small, so you often had to wait for the food to be replenished. Dinner was sufficient but basic. Our transfer from Alicante was a shambles. It took three and a half hours. The Thompson rep was totally useless. We sat on the coach at the airport for over an hour and the rep hopped of the coach at Benidorm and just left us to it. On departure from the hotel a taxi came, took us and other guests to the wrong pickup point for the coach. Again no Thompson rep on the coach!! So no stars for Thompson this trip. Overall Calpe is a lovely resort and well worth a visit.

We booked this holiday only 2 weeks before we went and did not know what to expect as reviews differed. On our arrival at the Galetamar at 11.30 pm we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who booked us in swiftly and gave us our key. As we had missed our evening meal there was a cold buffet to greet us in our room which was much appriciated . The room was fine beds and towels changed every day some say hard beds but they suited us. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and Dinner but maybe could have been kept a little warmer. No reason to be hungry. The staff were all friendly and willing to help if you had a problem. The pool area was fine but could do with brightening up and the sunbeds were uncomfortable maybe foam mattresses in future would be good . The safe in the room was very secure and worth the payment. On the whole the Hotel is a bit dated but very clean and we shall not hesitate to come back next year. The holiday was booked through Thomson and we had no problems Mark the rep was very informative.Thankyou for making our holiday enjoyable first time in Calpe but not the last.

Our visit was organised via travel agents in Playa Flamenca; 3 nights ( 3-6th Oct), bed and breakfast. Our party of 4 were allocated rooms on the 6th floor (602 and 606) and we got the sea views requested. I've had better breakfasts, but the location, hospitality and cleanliness more than made up for it. As we chose to eat out, I'm unable to comment on the restaurant and customer reviews appear to suggest we made the right choice. At 225 euros per couple for 3 nights, I would visit again on the same basis. There may be cheaper options, but the views and staff service in this 3 star hotel take some beating.

room ok but in general hotel was disapointing restaurant was awful as was the food. restaurant service very slow and choice bad. It felt like hospital food. we even got offered pigs trotters one night!!!

We stayed here from 6th -13th September and we couldn't fault it. Our transfers to and from the airport were very good.Thomson even provided a taxi to take us to Calpe, as there were just the two of us, and on the way home, a minibus picked us up on time.We stopped at a couple of hotels, but it was no big deal. The hotel was lovely, really laid back, quiet and relaxing. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed, including a full size fridge, and a modern safe, which cost a very reasonable €7 for a whole week . The ensuite was modern, with an excellent walk -in shower. There was a balcony which had a side sea view. Outside, the garden and pools were well maintained. There were plenty of sunbeds . We stayed half board, and we both enjoyed the food.Drinks in the restaurant and bars were well priced, and service was efficient and friendly. The location was perfect for us, right on the edge of Calpe, peaceful but not isolated, and I loved the little beach behind the hotel, which was great for swimming. The short walk along the promenade to the shops was flat, with spectacular views. Thank you to all at the Galetamar, especially the friendly, helpful people on reception. My husband and I loved this hotel and it was also great value. We would definitely return.
