We had a hire car and parking was never a problem. You get a parking pass to display in your car when you check in. Our check in was great and we were welcomed by Jose Manuel - an absolute gentleman. So friendly and helpful We were upgraded to an apartment (411) had the most amazing balcony with great views. Valentine in the bar was also lovely and very cheerful - the other barman was probably happy but forgot to tell his face ! We were on HB for 10 nights and probably ate out for 6 nights. Evening meals were a bit lacking in imagination but tasted ok. Breakfast was better. In a good location on the edge of the resort - about a 5-10 minute walk to the main strip on the front. Room cleaned every day. There were a few Spanish guests and were friendly enough... a 'Buenos Dias' etc. goes a long way.

I visited this hotel as a lone female traveller on a package tour October 2017. My first visit to Calpe, liked the area apart from the high rise hotels which have spoilt the landscape. I was given a room overlooking the bungalows to the back of the hotel, the rooms are basic but clean, the bed was quite comfortable, only BBC1 and ITV English TV channels which was okay. There was no sun at all on the balcony at any time of the day which I did not like, it must face North, also I noticed the Spanish were all on the sunny side of the hotel, I was told I could not change rooms until 2 days before I was leaving. The hotel staff were okay, the reception was a bit frosty at times although answered all questions. I did not enjoy the food and thought it was the worst food I have had in a hotel in a long time. Poor quality and choice,I was half board and ate out a couple of times as just really hated it. The breakfast was also poor, I had to ask for fried eggs one day , they did cook them with protest!. There were no trips to go on from this hotel , despite me booking with the largest travel company , no rep at all during my stay, I did feel totally abandoned, the company now promote themselves to put you in the middle, well, they did actually dump me in the middle literally and left me for the week with no contact whatsoever, the coach driver dropped me off at the bottom of the hill to walk up to the hotel myself pushing my case, not good with bad knees and being an older traveller. I hired a car and drove around and about to Moraira which was lovely. Back to the hotel- the hotel sunbeds were awful, white plastic slats with plenty of broken ones, very uncomfortable even with a towel on, no covers for them, the swimming pool was okay but too cold in October, the garden area was poor and there were quite a lot of flies, there were no views apart from a building site which was noisy at times the hotel is quite near the beach which was nice. One good thing about this hotel was that the drinks were cheap, the wine was good and the bar staff were friendly. The shower was also good, there was no bath in my room. I did not use the air cond for most of the time as not needed, however, when I did put it on it was quite noisy. There are quite a lot of Spanish elderly people that stay at this hotel and have organised entertainment at certain times of the year, NOT WHILST I WAS THERE!! To top my holiday off the coach never came to pick me up for my return to the airport and I had to get a taxi, luckily I have been refunded for this , but no apology whatsoever. I would not recommend this hotel and would not return, glad to be back to home comforts.

The whole place was spotless and the apartments offered spacious accommodation, with secure parking and at a fair price. Just a 5 minute walk to Bars etc, wouldn't hesitate to book again although the drive to Valencia Race Circuit took a little longer than we thought. Last but certainly not least, staff were really friendly and a courtesy room was provided without charge on our final day

I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, it is kept spotlessly clean and a good choice of food buffet style at meal times. The hotel is in a quiet part of Calpe and my husband and I really appreciated getting some quality sleep. The old town is a short bus ride away L1 or L2 bus stop around the corner from hotel or take the land tourist train.

we returned from our holiday on 2 October 2017 we realy enjoyed this holiday. first holiday in 10 years. The rooms were cleaned daily, meals were fine and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Any problems with maintenance were dealt with promptly ie shower door was loose fixed straight away no problem. Was very peaceful and enjoyable. plenty to do lovely beach and shopping. would go back again as suited us perfectly.

We travelled to Calpe and to the AR Galetamar on the 26th September staying at the hotel to the 3rd October. The hotel is at the northerly edge of Calpe in a residential area. We were in room 607 on the 6th floor overlooking the villas and hills with a side view of the sea, ideal if you want peace and quiet. The hotel itself is a little dated but on saying that, it was spotlessly clean, food more than adequate with attentive staff. Our room had a fridge which was useful, TV (with British channels) WiFi, and a safe (reasonable local charge). Drinks in the dining room and at the bar were also reasonably priced. The pool looked clean and well maintained but most if not all of the white plastic sunbeds were cracked with no covers. not the most comfortable! Need replacing!! Calpe is an interesting resort, the beach side split into two halves by the Penon de Ifach The nearest large sandy beach, Playa de Fossa is within 800m of the hotel, a pleasant walk on a flat promenade. For those who wish to walk further carry on to the end of this beach, up some steps, turn to the right, first left and soon you are at the marina and the start of the second large sandy beach. Both beaches have life guards and seen safe for swimming. You can access all the amenities using the local buses which are cheap and reliable as well as a great little land train, all within easy reach from the hotel, which takes you right around Calpe including the old town which is really worth a visit. .

We have just returned from a week at this hotel which is in need of a full refurb, & overhaul. Although it was spotless & cleaned every day. & rooms always smelled fresh on returning. But The rooms had cracks in the walls, taps were stiff to turn on & off resulting in getting splashed on in daily use. The air con was very noisy & inefficient. Good variety of food on offer, but very poor standard! the only time it improved was when a number of Spanish stayed overnight. We were woken each morning by the builders erecting another property directly in front of the hotel. Which will prob spoil what little sea view there is already. And made it noisy while trying to relax round the pool. The staff were very helpful, (when you could find them) as they were very short staffed. Also If you have mobility issues beware! there is a very steep slope up to the hotel entrance.

Good hotel, nice location , walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We rented a car and the parking was free and never a problem with spaces . The food could improve but is ok for a few days. Is more suited for adults.

Let me begin by saying that the entrance to La Galetamar is up a slope so it will not be suited to all. We enjoyed our stay here. Yes, it is a little tired but we weren't here to stay in the room. I say room but it was actually a 2 bed apartment. There was a small kitchen area, shower room plus a lounge with a sofa bed. We were allocated 509, which was at the end of the hotel giving us, not only a balcony to the side but a large area overlooking the pool and out to the Med. Ticks for free fridge and wifi. Half a tick for the safe, which wasn't free but only €7 p.w. Loads of storage space. A.C. Only one key so the electric goes off when you leave the room, so you cannot charge your gadgets whilst you go out. Kitchen had cups, glasses etc. plus a hob. No microwave or kettle, although this wasn't a problem for us. Also, as the apartments are privately owned they are probably kitted out differently. Shower room had further storage, w.c. sink and towel rail. Shower was a decent size with options to squirt water at different heights. Bit surprised with sophisticated shower that the water pressure wasn't overly powerful when used as a normal shower. The hotel is at one end of the town but very near the sea and a short walk to the beach, restaurants, bars and supermarket. We were on half board. Food was buffet style. I'm a veggie and consider that there was enough choice. Soup most evenings was vegetarian. One day we had lunch instead of dinner. The soup that day was bean; bit disappointed to find it had meat in it. I wasn't expecting veggie soup every day in a 3 star hotel, but please tell us when it isn't! Some of the dishes were not labelled - again when it is difficult to tell what is in the food please label it. If it isn't clear I just don't eat it but us veggies could be missing out. Bar had a small area to sit. Didn't use the pool area much but it seemed pleasant. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. We stayed as part of the Medfest Group. The modern jive was in the Diamanté Hotel, which was about 5 minutes walk away.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Galetamar Hotel. On arrival we were met by a very nice night duty/receptionist who's English was very poor but he was very pleasant who offered us a late meal as we didn't arrive until 2am but we rejected the kind offer due to being too tired. The room (no. 117) was adequate with a great shower and very clean with nice clean bed lining and towels. The maid did an absolute stunning job! The balcony had no view just a view of a car park hence we never used it during our stay. The hotel itself once we were out of our room felt like we had walked into a hospital corriodor. Very tired looking and very dated with broken tiles and plaster coming off the wall around the door frames. The food was average but it wasn't hot enough. The water for tea & coffee was nowhere near hot enough either. As for the entertainment is was non-existent. The weekly entertainment board was completely blank. Only on the Saturday night did we get some entertainment but this was geared purely towards the Spanish guests. The pool area was OK but a lot of the sunbeds were uncomfortable and broken and the only view we had was of a crane. All in all we would not stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. This was not a 3 Star hotel...
