We are, here at the moment. It has been a terrible Christmas, the worst hotel we have stayed in, in the Algarve! When we booked in April, we asked for a room with a sunny balcony, due to my problems with arthritis. We have not been able to sit on our balcony once.. we have been put in the worst corner apartment, with no sun at all. We had no internet for over a week, by which time, they then said someone had left from another apartment and they could give us their router. I am disabled and they gave us a room on the 3rd floor, but the lift broke down and I had to climb up to the 3rd floor! Then the air-conditioning would not work and it was freezing! We had to wait for an engineer to come and fix it. The stench of sewers is unbelievable, all in the apartment!! Although we have met some lovely people and Gasper on reception is great, we certainly won't be back. Supermarket across the road is closed, so it's a very long walk to do your shopping. If you are disabled, don't come here!!

upgraded to 2 bedroom apartment which was massive ,in fact it was 2 big for 2 and was cold at night and the bathroom was as big as the lounge . Towels only changed weekly but apart from that was ok. Staff were all very helpful .

Arrived at the hotel early but was no problem. The man at reception was so friendly but I will add thy want a 100 euro security deposit at arrival so if like me you don't have a credit card make sure you have the cash it will be returned at checkout. Have to say the apartment we got was more like a house it was over two floors and was massive I have never seen such a large bathroom with two showers and a bath twin sinks. It have wifi in the apartment ours didn't work but when we told them it was sorted out as soon as they could. The t.v. only had news channels in English but sure your not there to watch telly. The kitchen was clean modern and everything you need was there. would come back again and again.

We had a lovely time sorry we didn't book for two weeks so while we were there booked to go back again in January it is lovely and clean with separate big well equipped kitchen take a continental multi plug easy to source on line and if like me you like a bath take a universal plug I always take my travel iron there is an ironing board but you would need to hire an iron and take a small hair dryer no problem taking these items in hand luggage the staff are lovely nothing was too much trouble for them come out gate and turn right and right again and walk for about 10 min and on your left is Lidl and on your right is a hypermarket lovely shop with everything you need for self catering also has eatries upstairs walk to the shops and get a cab back about 3 euro come out the gate turn tight and then left lovely wine bar keep walking down again 10 min and your at the beach come out the gate turn left take dirt track and your get to the strip plenty of restaurants pubs and beach buy your water across the road and if you go out to main road there is a small shop on the other side

Absolute disgrace. The room booked said Resort View Studio. This is a basement with a view of a corridor. Nowhere to sit outside which is the whole point of a holiday in the sun. Another reviewer on 11th October says it all.

We stayed 29th Nov to 6th Dec.,. weather cloudless during the day cold at night. We were allocated room B306 which had the sun on the large balcony from early morning till 4pm. The apartment was simply superb, it was very large with separate fully fitted kitchen, bathroom was 4 piece with shower over bath, twin bedded room with patio doors & the lounge was extra large which included a table & 4 chairs & large patio doors leading onto the balcony with views over the pool& to the sea in the distance. The apartment was the best we have stayed with the only fault was the TV with only Sky International & a couple of US news to watch, I would pay more to get British TV . Contrary to the sheets & towels being changed once as stated for some reason ares were all changed 2 nights from the end of our holiday. All the staff at reception were excellent & always on hand to help. I am 74 & found the walk to the large supermarkets took 15 mins & down to the front taking the short cut 10 minutes, so shouldn't bother many. I wouldn't visit Praia del Rocha at this time of year again as 70% of the places to eat & drink were closed. p.s At the back of the apartment is an all weather football pitch & it was great to watch all age groups training & playing football matches

Really nice spacious apartments , about 15minute walk from the beach and strip . The plaza real has self catering apartments and bed and breakfast apartments , all b&b rooms are pool views, the self catering have football ground views , however at night real nice over the hotels towards the sea , and again sunrises in the morning from balcony ( long from bedroom across lounge) and to say the apartments (self cat) are large is an understatement they are massive , shutters on all windows , to keep cool ,air con / heating in rooms kitchen has everything you need . All the staff I encountered were excellent helpful and really pleasant ! . You can book trips through the 24hour reception , and that was a really good experience too , after trying some down on the strip that were not . You can get Taxi too, the supermarkets are again about a 10/15minute walk away , again reception provided map , and as coming back with groceries they have Taxi rank at centro , and prices real good ! (Lidle over Road too) . We went slightly after summer season so some places shut but weather was glorious. Another nice point received letter from mgt with bottle of wine on my birthday, ( which they must have got from passport) really great stay for our first time in Portugal will Be returning!

clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable, well equiped, positioned well for the beach area or a walk into Portimao, will be back as really enjoyed staying here, several good resteraunts nearby particularly Servi-vau, worth getting onto the local train and travelling around, cheap and regular, Lagos, Silves and Faro all worth visiting

Stayed here for the month of October 2017. Also stayed here for October 2016. Very spacious and clean apartments located about 15 minutes walk from the beach. Apartments cleaned once a week with weekly sheets and towel change. More frequent change for a small fee. Pool towels free with refundable deposit. Aldi, Lidl and large supermarket - Continente - about 15 minutes walk. Fully equipped kitchen if you like to cook at home. Staff pleasant and helpful. Excellent pool with shallow end and deep end. Kiddies pool also but we noticed that a lot of kids had problems with stinging eyes -rushed to the poolside shower to wash out eyes. Too much chlorine perhaps? This is a nice place to stay - quiet, comfortable and good value for money. Wifi good at poolside and reception - hit and miss in apartment. Couple of English speaking TV news channels otherwise learn the language!
