This hotel was off the beaten track and relaxed and as a whole my experience once again good with teh breakfast being excellent. To much around the hotel is tired and on my visit to many area's were not fully prepared or clean (top pool - no umbrellas - towels)
I had my daughter birthday party in February. It was a cold day so they gave us option of indoor or outdoor party. Whole event was all put together beautifully. Thanks to Beatriz Silva and her team for a good time all the kids had. Food was good, cake was fantastic and the service was excellent. Highly recommended for the Kids party and any personal event if you choose this hotel.
Just simply perfect. From beginning to end. Arrived at the Hotel for our wedding ceremony held at the garden/lake area which was amazing. Dined in the ballroom as we hosted a large wedding and had our cocktail at the terrace in a private area. Couldn't be more impressed with the venue, surroundings and service at this Hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a golf package. The golf courses are good if challenging!! The hotel rooms are spacious with excellent facilities & the chalets are more spacious if a little impersonal. Breakfast is a good buffet although if you want sausage & bacon it's a bit disappointing. The continental breakfast is excellent. Snacks during the day are also good.... and very reasonable. The bar in the evening is NOT reasonable. Go into Vilamoura Marina (10 minutes 10 euros taxi ride) where there's a fab selection of bars & rstaurants. We visited in February so obviously there was nothing in full swing. The pool area looks great and there's a separate pool, sauna, steam room. It's got a lot going for it. I'd go again, as a golfer.
My parents, me and my wife stay there for one night and we like the hotel in general. The room is good, decoration is little old but very good also the beds are confortable. Bathroom for the standart suite in the main Building is good and very clean. The Bar is very nice and had happy hour there from 730 to 830 paying half price for the beers. Staff very lovely and ready to help anytime. We didn t like the dinner in general in the hotel, food must be better for a 5 star hotel. The salads I didn t like, the greens was muchy and some looks old (sorry to say). The meat was dried and no flavor and the two fishes served on the buffet looks and taste frozen. For 20 euros buffet for person I can t recommend it. Well the restaurant staff is very good and nice guys. The Sauna of the resort is far away from the main buiding and you must walk on the cold to reach there, but the indoor pool and sauna was good! In general I can say the hotel is very good but need to improve some areas to reach the five star degree.
Have stayed here several times and enjoyed each visit. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are spotless and kept that way. Great for those who want o golf with the Vila Sol courses on the doorstep. Breakfast is great during the summer months but during the closed season I think they use cheaper alternatives.. but never the less still nice. There is a driving range and putting/chipping ground just outside the hotel. The kids club is great but only open in the summer season, which is to be expected. Nice indoor pool sauna and jacuzi along with gym and games room. Plenty of live entertainment during the summer but not in winter. All in all a 5 star hotel in a 5 star resort.
5 Star Hotel?? I would say at a push 2.5, Total Disappointment, cost a fortune to stay here, I won't be coming back. On the way to our room the Pathway was uneven, a real hazard, at night I tripped up a couple of times, could of been nasty. When I first walked into the room, it stunk of smoke, I did let reception know, nothing was done. The breakfast was a total shambles, it was really busy and the staff were not helpful, we had to guess where to sit as when a table finally before free, we had to wait for someone to clear it up! and then constantly ask for tea, serviette etc... one morning the waitress got really stroppy with us and said to another guest she was busy and on her own, very rude! not the service to expect for a 5 star hotel at all, I am so glad I was not Half board that is all I can say. The children's beds were awful, one was broken, they finally took the put you up bed (something from the 1980's) away and just put another mattress on top of the other mattress! It was awful, we all had to take it in turns to sleep in the bed so we could have a least one nights sleep. I really could go on, as there were many little things, but the sum it up, this is NO WAY a 5 star hotel, and it was totally over priced. The Hotel were told of our complaints, on our last day we got given 4 drinks vouchers, I declined this, I actually took it as an insult.
We visited this hotel as a family of adults and overall we had a lovely week and the hotel is good. I didn't think it was a 5* and not even an amazing 4* either and my explanation is because: - Rooms: the majority of our party were couples and we had Garden rooms, all very nice - but access to these was horrendous with paving slabs lifted along the entire path due to tree roots, making it a hazard for even the most able bodied person as a few of us almost fell a number of times. Two in our party had paid extra for single occupancy rooms and were located in the superior rooms in the main hotel building - these were LOVELY!!! Air con was good in the rooms and bathroom facilities were great. Rooms cleaned everyday so no complaints. Food - we stayed on a bed & breakfast basis - breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable each day! We ate lunch most days at the pool bar and often waited for long periods of time for what would seem quite simple-to-make food. Food was nice enough. Drinks are expensive!! €4.50 for a can of coke/7UP or orange juice and beer was €5 - we often purchased a 2l bottle of water from the lobby shop as this was a cheaper option. We did not eat in the evening after speaking to other guests who weren't impressed to with the quality or price - so we ventured out every evening. Venturing out - there is little to do in the hotel in the evening, entertainment is non-existant and the atmosphere was very quiet. Taxis are easy to book from the reception desk and are typically minibus size (seats 8), which worked well for us as there was 8 of us. This made the journey less expensive and had we had been here just as a couple it would have cost us €10 each way to the marina. We would definitely stay closer to the marina next time. Those who say you can walk to the marina from the hotel I don't think are accurately portraying the actual walking distance - the nearest shop as a 40min walk, the marina is more like 60+mins. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach each day,the shuttle seats 8 so I would imagine that during busier times this would fill up quickly. We had no problems but as there were 8 of us, one of the shuttles got booked up just by us. Pool - the pool area is quite small which for us was nice as it wasn't too loud and created quite an intimate relaxing vibe. Cleanliness of the pool was great too. No issues getting a sunbed either so no need to be up at the crack of dawn to get your towel out. It should be highlighted that as you exit the main building to the pool area there is a small wall to the right hand side, which overlooks a courtyard area. The drop to the courtyard below is substantial and there was no guardrail and some of the plastic sheeting was missing - unsafe! If a child or anyone fell over the small wall there is little in the way to prevent falling over this edge. Staff- reception staff always seemed pleasant and friendly. We did have a couple of issues with staff at the pool bar where, unbeknownst to us, a waitress was new and after writing down our order didn't actually place it and we were left waiting for lunch for an hour and half - it was fair to say that service was alot better after this! Overall, a nice stay - far from terrible but not amazing. We would stay here again but would probably try to stay closer to the marina or at least upgrade to a superior room here.
Golf course good. Hot breakfast very poor in standard of quality. Staff very nice and helpful. Rooms on third floor very clean, spacious and comfortable. Bar closes too early. Drinks expensive at the bar. Taxis expensive if you need to go to say villamora.
definately not five star accomodation, but everthing was clean and comfortable.the food was nothing special.the staff however were extreemly friendly and helpful, which made for a pleasant stay.happy hour at bar 7.30-8.30.
