Stayed here end of August beginning of September this year and loved the whole holiday. Hotel is in a fabulous location across the road from little cobbled alleyways that lead you down to a fabulous Marina. All rooms have a Marina view. For sunbathing, the bottom and right hand side of the pool is best as the left hand side is shaded by around 2pm. Five minutes walk takes you to the beach and it is perhaps a 30 minute walk to Quateira with lots of little bars along the way. The room was comfortable and well facilitated - English language TV channels, air con and wi-fi - what more do you want lol. Breakfast was a good buffet, avoid going down between 9am and 9.30 either go before or after as there tends to be a queue, however this is dealt with very efficiently by the restaurant manager - the tables are cleared very quickly. Pool towels are available, best idea is to get fresh ones as you are going back up to your room at the end of the day. This is because you collect the towels from reception, which is incredibly busy all the time, and the staff will not stop what they are doing to hand out towels, preferring instead to have a huge queue of people waiting to go to the pool (probably my only criticism of the staff here). Another tip I would say is take an extension lead as the plug sockets are limited - I take a four gang 1 meter lead one on every holiday (after reading someone else's recommendation for a hotel in Spain) that cost me about £4 in Quality Save and it's the best thing ever! Vilamoura is a great holiday, very relaxed but still very buzzy and I can't wait to go back.

Picked this hotel because of all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and was very disappointed. The hotel is not 4 star, more likes a poor 2 star. There was a problem with the drains in my bedroom 705. On returning the second night the smell in the room was so bad, I had to leave the bedroom and balcony doors open so I could air the room. I informed the staff on checkout about the problem but was ignored. On a positive note, the breakfast was very good but I wouldn't recommend staying here unless the smell problem is resolved.

This hotel is in a great location. Right on top of the marina, ideal for groups of golfers. Good freindly staff, its facilities are basic, as are the rooms and the breakfast,so don't expect to much, but does offer value for money

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September and can't even think of a bad thing to say about the place, even though we had an issue with our door cards not working one day. Arrived early on Sunday and although we were a couple of hours before official check in times they still managed to get us into our room, and what a room. Top floor overlooking the marina and beyond. Spotlessly clean and as I mentioned the only issue was the card reader for the door one day, which was all resolved in 2-3 hours. Staff on reception couldn't be more helpful and apologetic if they tried. Stayed on a half board basis, but only ate in the restaurant for two of our nights. Although Thomson described it as a buffet style we were treated to the A La Carte menu (can only assume there weren't enough guests staying half board for them to open it up fully). Even though the menu was the same both times, it was certainly delicious but portion sizes could've been a little smaller. The star for me being a starter crispy parcel of Chevre, quince marmalade and walnuts with a Port & cinnamon reduction. Hats off to the chef for creating that as well as Vasco for his excellent service the first night (he wasn't around the other time we ate in). Didn't get to spend any time around/in the pool as it was spent either in Vilamoura or nearby Quarteira.

Stayed here for a long weekend in September. We stayed in a suite overlooking the marina, which was very spacious. Balcony was huge. I would definitely upgrade to the suite it was worth it. Overall the hotel does need a makeover, but it is very clean and has all you need for either a golfing holiday or very easy access to the marina for the restaurants and nightlife. Pool was ok. Nice jacuzzi, bar prices reasonable including food. Burger, chips and a jug of sangria was €21. Compared to the prices on the marina this was very favourable. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice, the eggs looked good but the bacon and beans were not the best. Great bread selection though. I would recommend this for couples or small groups.

Faultless hotel for a golf trip with good service and facilities. Great location for all the Vilamoura based golf clubs and also the restaurants and bars in the harbour. Easy to get to from Faro as well.

10 of us stayed here on a 5 night golfing break This was an excellent base for golf , restaurants and night life Fantastic value for money and I had an excellent room 502 with both a pool and marina view Late check out at 12 noon is spot on after a last night session with the lads Will be booking the same next October

Just 2 minutes walk to the marina. the staff are fine - they are not proactively helpful or friendly, and they are not rude or unhelpful. I suppose they do just enough. very clean. Ideal for golf trip with friends, which is what we were there for. Breakfast is good and has a big variety. Twin rooms are fine, just big enough for them not to be cramped.

I've just returned this hotel and I can honestly say it was a great stay. The rooms were clean and spacious, the buffet in the restaurant was plentiful with a good choice. But best of all were the staff who were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. It's in a great location too I would really recommend staying here. The only downside was the charge for using the digital safe in the room most hotels don't charge.

Fantastic hotel, location and staff very friendly. Rooms and public areas very clean. Went in October and have already booked for next June. Can't think of anything that could have bettered my stay. Bottle of fizz and chocolate covered strawberries arrived for my husband's birthday.
