I honestly did not know that it was kind of a vacation home with a fully furnished kitchen and laundry. The "room" is spacious. However, it is also a time share for Four Seasons, so the users of the time shares will pay for things like electricity and maid services. That does not apply to "hotel guests", but I did not know that, so I was really watching how much power I used. It is kind of hard to get to, so you have to have a car. There is not much around either. The driveway is really narrow, and there is not enough parking. I think I would prefer to stay somewhere closer to town, unless you want to get away. Then it is for you.
Excellent two bedroomed apartment - very clean and well equipped, good daily housekeeping. Breakfasts were of a good standard although the breakfast room could have been a little larger. Hire car is useful especially at the time of year we visited (end December) as local bars/restaurants were closed so places within walking distance were limited (however there was an excellent little supermarket which was open until about 8 pm). My only disappointment was the fact that on New Year's Eve the bar and restaurants were not available after about 5pm due to the gala dinner - we had an early flight next morning and did not want to have such a large meal or late night. If we had not had a car we would have struggled to find somewhere to eat.
After having a horrendous start to a late break holiday (please see my review regarding this other hotel in Vilamoura) All I can say is that we cannot thank Bridget and Sonja enough for their help in finding us a room and their support throughout the week at this excellent hotel. We ended up spending a week there and had a fantastic time. Great food, great staff and a very comfortable room. Can't thank everyone enough.
We live in Alvor and visited Vilamoura to meet up with family. From the price we paid I was amazed at the value for money. We had a really large suite overlooking the town. The amenities in the hotel were first class. The breakfast was so good and the staff couldn't do enough to help. We would definitely return here
Rooms are large and very clean, however dated and needing improvement. Mattress was too soft and uncomfortable. There is no choice of pillows, which are very hard and also uncomfortable. There was also a bad light isolation. The breakfast was very disappointing especially because we were expecting much more from Four Seasons. There was a reasonable choice of fresh fruits, but all the rest was poor and without quality: need to offer other choice of bread, juices, cheese, yogurts, and several other products that should be present in a 4 star breakfast. We were really surprised about this fact. There are 3 outside pools and one indoor. Location is nice, close to Vilamoura Center. 15 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by car.
We stayed at the Four season Hotel in Vilamoura for a week. We arrived on Boxing day night 2017. We arrived late due to our transfer not turning up, this had nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel kindly organised food for us even though the kitchen was closed. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff, hotel, rooms outstanding. We will definitely be back again and again. Jessica at the front of house is a real asset to the hotel and they are very lucky to have her! Thank you Four Season Hotel for a wonderful holiday. Nothing was a problem, the hotel couldn't do enough for you. The welcome night was such fun and a great way to meet other holiday guests. Once again a really wonderful winter holiday. Many Thanks Room 74.
We travelled for a five day stay in the Four Seasons just after Christmas until 2nd Jan. Our kids are 2 and 4 and really loved the spacious apartment. The indoor pool was well used by all of us during our stay. The whole place had enough guests to feel like there was an atmosphere, but quiet enough to enjoy all the facilities this time of year. Great breakfast, really attentive staff and nice location a bit out of town. The only downside was we had noisy neighbours and had to phone reception on two of the nights since they woke the kids - but maybe we were just unlucky. Overall a great stay and would recommend it.
Booked again for the New Year. What a great time to come. Gala dinner New Years Eve was amazing. A big thanks to Ines for arranging a fantastic night. Four seasons never disappoints. The staff are fantastic, enthusiastic & helpful. The hotel is amazing, cannot find fault at all. Coming back in 6 months !! Well done Four Seasons !!
Lovely location in the Algarve, even in the middle of winter with plenty of places to go out to and eat. Staff were exceptionally friendly from the front desk to the guys serving breakfast in the morning. Food in the restaurant was also very nice, tried it one night and food was exceptional, problem is there are so many other good places to eat within easy walking distance. Room was big and comfortable and very well equipped although a couole of the appliances didn't work, or we couldn't figure out how to work them! But they weren't essential so we only didn't bother to report the problem until we checked out. Overall highly recommended.
A really lovely hotel, set in the old town of Vilamoura. The apartment was really spacious and very comfortable. The facilities in the apartment are excellent - everything you could need is there including a fully fitted kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. We visited out if season so we found ourselves in a very quiet resort..... which we loved. Every day we had the inside heated pool / jacuzzi all to ourselves. I’ve marked them down a little for the staff service. The reception staff only gave you information if you asked..... what I mean by that was - when we arrived they didn’t tell us about the Wi-fi or the pool towels.... so I had to go back when I realised I didn’t know (and no mention in the room). Wi-fi costs 15e for 4 days (great service- worth it) The first set of towels are free but if you want fresh pool towels you have to pay1.1€ - you get them from reception. We didn’t eat at the hotel because we like to try out different restaurants. It’s a 20 minute walk to the marina and an Uber cab is only 3€.
