We booked with Thomas Cook. The room was spacious with 2 single beds. We stayed in room 31 with a bit of ocean view. No iron and iron board in the room. The reception lady was kind of rude most of the time. Poor check in information, our check out time was 12 in the noon and reception tried to kick us out at 11 o clock. No stamps in the reception. No hello and goodbye. The room is noisy and was not enough toilet paper.
Very clean room and bathroom! Friendly staff! Situated in a great location, beautyful view from the room! In the kitchen you got everything you may need... Very confy bed as well 😁 They also got bar and room service wich is great! I will come back!
We were going to Portugal to see if this could be a place for us to retire. During this trip we stayed at the Apartamentos Soldoiro. We did not know what to expect of the hotel prior to arriving; we were pleasantly surprised. The location was wonderful for the proximity to the beach, and we were far enough away from the bars and holiday trappings for the hotel to be restful. I personally needed to see the sun. I do truly love my life in North Yorkshire, but the winter months can be hard to deal with. Growing up in Texas, I am a solar baby, so I do need a solar top-up. Also this trip would give us a chance to see if a life in Portugal is a viable location for a second retirement home. Our studio apartment was small, but clean and serviceable. The biggest annoyance with the room was having to pullout and put away the bed each day for sitting space. If we book this hotel again, we would definitely go with the one bedroom option rather than the studio. Also, the lack of cleaning supplies was also an annoyance, sine the room is not cleaned daily it is up the tenant to keep it tidy, so I would expect some cleaning supplies. We did purchase our own cleaning items and then just got on with our visit. The proximity of the beach was a plus for this visit but I could see where it could become a problem in summer months. During the winter months the beaches are more subdued. In the summer I could see where the noise level could rise and make this location a bit less than ideal for my type of holiday. We will be visiting Albufeira again, and passably stay here at the Apartamentos Soldoiro during that visit. The cost of flights and accommodation was inexpensive enough that the Algarve, may turn out to be a place that we frequent often for the winter sun. Our visit next year may be for a more extended period of time on the same beach
We had 2 sea view rooms. A lot of stairs to climb so ok for us. Rooms were kept clean all week. Staff friendly (however security guard can be mouthy if your not completely silent coming home)! Threatened to phone police - for talking!! The hotel is on a steep hill, again ok for us but a few people did slip so just be careful. Pool was relaxed. Snacks & drinks available at pool bar. Rooms good enough size. Here, you get what you pay for. We've all actually booked to come back here in April. Clean, tidy, great location. Very close to beach & nightlife. Just not good if you struggle with steep hills & stairs. Other than that, I would recommend this place.
My wife and me went to these apartments on the 30th November and stayed until the following Thursday. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little bit apprehensive about our break that our daughter had organised and paid for. But there was absolutely nothing to worry about. From the moment we arrived until the morning we left, we were treated with a lot of respect and they couldn’t do enough for us. Our room wasn’t ready, but we were told it would be in 30 minutes and invited to either wait in the bar or leave our cases and come back when wanted to. We stayed and they gave us the WiFi password and made ourself comfortable. When we got our room it was clean, neat, tidy and well aired. The towels and bed linen were clean and fresh and the kitchen had a 2 ring ceramic hob with a good fridge and a Microwave Combi Oven. There was plenty of plates, cups and untenable for eating and cooking. The bed linen and towels were changed after 3 days and if we wanted more, all we had to do was ask. I couldn’t fault the apartment or the service. It was halfway up the steep hill and was handy for every place we wanted to go to. A measure of how good it is, is when you ask yourself if you would go back. The answer is yes. Good apartments and good service. Excellent :-) Top tip. Go to the Cottage Bar for a good feed. It’s just past Wild and Co. at the bottom of the strip, and go to the Canadian Bar for good craic
Ideal location a stones throw from the beach... basic accomm and bfast offering but very good standard. My apt 23 had obviously had a bathroom and kitchen refurbishment, both clean, fresh and perfectly adequate. My bedding was not changed during my week stay but it does state that on the guest info nor was the apt cleaned. Towels changed twice which was great. Once again you get what you pay for in terms of service, linen etc. That’s my only criticism is I’d of preferred my apt cleaned and linen changed during stay but the option was there if I wanted to pay. Staff excellent and even allowed me to check out at noon with no charge. Would I stay again? Definitely!
Stayed here from 16th-21st November for 5 day break. We were worried a bit after reading some of the reviews about cleanliness of rooms, location ie: hill & noise We arrived late at night 10.30pm & were surprised how quiet it was. The studio we booked was on the top floor & it was very clean with a very modern bathroom. The next morning we woke to a stunning view of the sea. The beach is not a couple of mins down the hill& it's very clean and with excellent views. 4-5 cafe/restaurants are located on the prom & all serve excellent food with some offering 20% discount. The pool area of the apartments was lovely & quiet and very clean. The resort is a 30 min walk to Albufiera old town, which is stunning. Overall we had a great holiday at a very affordable price as I don't like saying cheap. The room is cleaned every 7 days ^ towels every 3 days which is not a problem as long as they provide something to clean with. We are definitely coming back to stay here next year.
Stayed here for a week in November in room 70 which was a 2 bedroom self catering apartment. The beds very hard and creaky, they had put a large pull out bed in the lounge which we found very un-comfortable to sit on on the nights we stayed in. We did request it be exchanged for a sofa but got a shake of the head from reception staff-no chance! The maid service only appeared twice during the week to quickly sweep and wash floors and empty bins and make beds ( no clean sheets). But clean towels. Found it a very basic reception area with not much directions as to how to find way to pool etc.which we didnt use as very shady area. However they did seem to be doing some building work on some of the rooms (banging got quite annoying) so maybe next year will be better. All in all a budget apartment which we would`nt go back too. Oh and its on "cardiac hill" so be warned!
I have never been to Portugal and vow not to return to Soldoiro apartments in Praia Du Aura. We don't mind basic as long as it's clean. I had to ask for towel changed and to have our beds changed too! I couldn't help but clean the apartment daily as I felt that the domestic staff worked to a minimum. This resort is also first the young at heart !
We stayed here for a week the bathroom and kitchen looked brand new the rest off the room was dated we didn't have a sofa to sit on it was a bed. The reception area was clean and so was the pool area. The cleaners came nearly everyday too.
