First night stay, water came down from ceiling in bathroom, awaking me and my wife. Basically startling us. Got dressed and went to office. They relocated us to an upstairs room. that room a/c was not running. Room temp was 86. So at 10:00 pm we had to wait for the room to cool down to be tolerable. Second night, we got back to the upstairs room, only to find that the keys for that room did not work. Had to go down stairs to get new keys. the third night was ok. for a seventy year old man, this was not acceptacle. In both the rooms we were in, there was not smoke alarm. Only the bases were on the wall.
Scared off and didn't execute our reservation. No pool. Scary neighborhood. Bleak setting. Didn't seem that anything was as advertised. Recommend you just roll on through. Not as advertised, and seemingly under renovation.
This is one of the lower price motels in the area. There are reasons for that. The carpet looks stained, the bedding is dated. The sheets were pink. The room smelled old and musty. If you are out of options and need to stay here see if you can get on the second floor. It might be a little dryer.
My husband stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Louisiana. His report of the hotel was "very good". The room was comfortable and clean. The inn is located on a major thoroughfare in Alexandria and is not far from the local mall and many restaurants. Continental breakfast was available and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Can't beat the price!
This property wasn't bad, it just wasn't what we expected. We were blessed with a room that had been remodeled. Fresh paint, shampooed carpet, new light fixtures, new tile in the bathroom and a curved shower rod! I do like that curved shower rod. The room was clean though it did have an odd smell. We sprayed air freshener and lit a candle. Problem solved. My sisters were not happy in their room. Fresh paint and new fixtures but the odor in their room was freshener resistant! Their room was clean but smelled and their tv remote was filthy! The colorful sheets made us crack up laughing! Ours were pink and theirs were green! The pillows were the $2.50 ones from Wal-Mart. We paid nearly $20 more on Priceline than was advertised on the side of the building!!! That was hard to choke on. The continental breakfast was more of a breakfast bar with mainly cereal. For the advertised $44.95 it's an OK deal. For the $70 we paid, NO WAY! The pool had no water! The owners were very pleasant.
Good room, comfortable night. Property was clean and the parking lot was well-lit.
Stayed here for 1 night in Alexandria and it was very average for $65 a night. WIFI didn't work and that the lady in Reception didn't know when a laundry was (across the road) were both a little annoying. Very average, but not even close to being a great value inn. That they call the chain "America's Best Value Inn" annoys me now - a month and a bit after we visited!
My husband and stopped for the night during a long drive and it was reasonable. We paid $62 for a room with a king bed. The mattresses were old and needed replaced, the bathroom smelled a bit and was overall shabby. It was clean and that was important. The pool was nice but could've used a cleaning. The desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating as the first room we were given had a broken a/c. She got us another room with no problems.
This place is nasty we stayed there for 30 min after checking in and noticing little bugs in the bed after pulling the sheets back! I have no idea what they were but any bugs in the bed with you while sleeping is beyound disgusting! We got a refund from the office and went to Ramada Inn which was the same price as Days Inn but A LOT better.
First of all, Hotwire needs to get a clue and not rate this as a 2 star. Second, this property is poorly maintained, extremely unkempt and not desirable in the least. Despite making it clear that there was 3 in the room in my reservation with Hotwire, charged me an additional $22.00 to have a room with 2 beds, clearly a violation of the Hotwire rules (I'm not holding my breath on Hotwire giving me that money back. Anyway, my stay will be over in 10 hours and I'll be on my way...but buyer beware....and shame on Hotwire for its misrepresentation.
