Days Inn Albion2.0 out of 5.0

I rented two rooms and of the one, which had the hot tub inside, there were small dead outside bugs on the floor in different areas as if the room hadn't been cleaned! Other than that, it was worth the stay for the real cheap price I paid.
I stay at Days Inn of Albion about once a month. They are always very friendly and accommodating. For a budget type hotel they do a good job.
It's an average hotel but you get what you pay for. It wasn't dirty but you felt like It wasn't clean like a Holiday Inn express or another $150 a night hotel. It was cheap ($100ish), close to where we had a baseball tournament and the staff was friendly. I'd stay there again.
There was no remote for the tv, the fridge and microwave all the way over next to the door instead of near the tv like in most hotels, rust stains all over the whirlpool, the coffee pot was in the bathroom no pens or paper pads to write on no way of using the sofa bed. I have stayed at many days inn and this one was the worst. I only stayed for 20 minutes before driving back to Detroit if anything I should be issued a refund not worth $85 a night. They also never gave any information as to how to access the internet.
While I have seen this location before over the past 3 years, I can honestly say that it has vastly improved. I needed a room due to the power outage and while they were full the first night I tried, the second I was able to get a room. It was clean and much improved from my original visit over 2 years prior. Management was genuinely kind and caring. They made sure I was taken care of with the greatest of respect. The room was clean and neat. Promptly ready with amenities including a small fridge and microwave. I would recommend this location because of the major improvements I've seen alone. Nothing but good things to say about the experience. Reasonable price, clean room and kind management. What more could I have asked for in the midst of the crisis caused by the power outage!
For $40 hard to be critical. Snow storm led to unexpected stop. Unimpressive but clean. Friendly greeting. Electric door lock didn't always function (open) but we got in. Heat worked well. Shower adequate. Breakfast, eh , but again, $40, cant complain. I hope to never stay there again but if forced by weather, could do worse.
Hotel is VERY run down. Room was 'somewhat' clean but mold in bathroom corners and dirty floor under cabinets. Wouldn't recommend taking a bath in the tub. Beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet, mind you I think we were the only quests. If you HAVE TO STOP cause your too tired to drive any further, this hotel is as good a place to put your head for the night, but keep driving to another destination if you can. I will say one thing. The owners were very nice to us. This hotel just needs some TLC and major renovations to the outside and in.
My guest had a "ROACH" in their room. Because I wanted to help build the city, I reserve rooms for my speakers at the Days Inn Albion. When I addressed the issue to the manager, the experience was treble. The manager was tried to argue, was offensive, and outright rude. Because of the rudeness of the manager, with no apology, I checked my guest out and into another hotel.
Hotel is upgrading. Much nicer than years ago. Room was nice and clean. Microwave and fridge. Overall average. Bed a bit uncomfortable, but good if you like firm. Only 2 small pillows. Towels are not the big and fluffy of other chains. Toiletries are minimal (tiny soap and shampoo). Location is great, right off the expressway. Front desk staff and cleaning staff must be same. Continental breakfast, but I missed it.
My stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The Wi-Fi worked well, I had a chance to use the fitness room, and my room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about different shopping locations in the area for me to explore.
