The Hotel is conveniantlt located near the airport, but the rooms are older and carry a very stale and moldy type odor. I complained ed and housekeeping had a spray on cart which told me they were prepared to mask the odor. It was scented, but the odor comes back. There is a lot of wood furniture that is beautiful but needed a good dusting.

Always a wonderful place to stay! Love the wood fire place in the lobby, stepping out of your car, the woodfire smell is welcoming!

Room was clean bar was ok but expensive and staff was friendly

Everything was just right and comfortable for the stay.

We have family living not far from the Desmond, and stay there periodically while visiting. We always find it pleasant and very child friendly. The rooms are nice, clean and well sized (where two queen beds don't fill up the entire space). But more importantly, the the beautiful indoor spaces outside the rooms (which my children view as Max's room - from Sendak's Wild Things), with fountains and a fish pond, are a great hit with the children and very relaxing and pleasant to walk through by day or night. The staff are always very helpful and patient with children. I shall add that this is not a new hotel, and the rooms have an aura of age. Additionally, if you want to avoid the possibility of noise from a conference you should request to stay on one of the higher floors. However, these issues diminish in comparison with the lovely ambiance and service the Desmond has to offer. It is certainly our first choice among the hotels in this area.

Good accommodations close to airport. Would recommend as a hub for any activities in the area. Suites preferred to single rooms. Friendly staff

Didn't use WiFi. The hotel was taken over by the Kiwanas club so you couldn't enjoy the nice court yard. The pool and hot tub were OK but the clorine in the hot tub stung your eyes while just sitting in it. Every thing was clean though and staff was friendly.

not enough time to enjoy the hotel and all the amenities.

We always stay at the Desmond for Christmas. In particular, the members of the staff at great: warm and welcoming.

Clean nice little dated. WiFi was good for work. Food and bar were nice.

Peaceful, Pleasant & Warm People. Comfortable bed. Clean environment.

The hotel is an indoor english tudor style housing under one huge roof. You can enjoy 365 days inside of this hotel without any crazy weather. This hotel is a reminisced of english tudor.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party. I enjoyed my experience and was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of the hotel. It's definitely not a "cookie cutter" hotel. I especially loved the indoor atriums that made you feel like you were outside with beautiful skylights. You could sit by the fountain and enjoy the little fish that would come to greet you. The rooms have a colonial feel to them which makes them a little dated but they are spacious and have everything you need. You can open the windows that look out to the atriums which is pretty awesome. For the price of this room I feel you get a great value.

The answer is always yes! We travel miles out of our way just to stay here. The staff is delightful, unlike any other hotel in the area. A large hotel with a small town feel! We especially enjoy Edie, hostess in Simpsons Restaurant. Attitude is everything in this lovely hotel!

Great hotel right off the highway. We couldn't get a room in Lake George area for Labor Day weekend, and decided to stay an hour away to cut the cost of the pricy weekend. This hotel did not disappoint me at all. The room was nice, clean, and spacious. The bathroom is just a perfect size. I totally recommend this hotel if space and cleanliness concerns you.

Like a country Inn in the middle of suburbia. Nice quiet atmosphere, clean rooms and a friendly staff.

If you plan to stay at the Desmond, I'd like to recommend to request a room on the 3rd floor and parking lot view. It would be light and quiet. House keeping was wonderful! I stayed there for 5days, and I was impressed that every single day they keep the room very nice. Restraunts in the hotel is kind of pricy, and it took too long time.

We only stayed here to be close to Albany airport since we had an early flight . Room was comfortable, check in and check out we're flawless, and it's only a few minutes to the airport

Large hotel, nice shuttle, lovely food with lots of conference activity. The first room they gave us opened on to the courtyard where one conference was going on. Even the bellman stated that this was not acceptable. He moved us to a quieter room. No express checkout service.

I always enjoy staying at the Desmond. I was a little disappointed that I still had garbage in the wastebasket
