Residence Inn by Marriott Albany Airport

This is your typical Residence Inn with suites and a plentiful morning breakfast. They also have a very nice outdoor pool and patio area. Even though this hotel is a bit dated and could use a facelift in other areas beside the lobby, I would like to give a big applause for the service here. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, starting right at check-in. The most memorable event that took place during my one night stay here was the fact that I left some valuables in the room when I checked out. I was contacted by the general manager within a few hours and when I went back to retrieve my valuables, EVERYTHING was accounted for. In this day and age, this is VERY RARE to have an entire team so honest. Any loss/theft would really have been entirely my fault, but the fact that so many staff members were honest astounded me. I will mention that I was in the area for a funeral, so this very kind gesture was incredibly appreciated. I would absolutely return here if in the area again.

After staying two nights in this hotel, I have vowed never to stay in a Residence Inn again. We had a bottom two queen suite. When we entered there were mosquitos in the room. The room was filthy from the top of the tables to the sofa cushions. The closet door would stick shut. The toilet would not stop running, and there shower leaked. All night, from 3 am to 5 am you could hear the person above us escorting people in and out of their room. Not sure what was occurring there, but it did not look legal. If I had to find one positive, it is the breakfast was good. Take it from me, save your money and stay elsewhere.

Hotel Lobby has been renovated. However, their rooms have not. Rooms need a major facelift. I was very surprised as well to see rodent traps in the closet as well as roach baits. The carpeting had spots all over and the kitchenette floor was sticky. Shame on me for not saying something sooner. Very disappointed at this Marriott property. Never had I stayed in a room that was so gross.

But I stayed here for one evening. I had stayed here for several extended stays before. I don't think they've updated a thing. It's on the verge of getting a little shabby. Generally clean, has a pool, and the other thing is you expect from a Marriott.

Clean, Staff is friendly and quiet I had one problem Staff entered my room without knocking the first morning (8am) but there was a mix up on their end but it was quietly and quickly resolved. They apologized and the rest of my stay was nice. I would stay there again

After refusing to stay at the disgusting Towneplace Suites Albany University this was a last minute booking. We were thrilled with what we found. The hotel is a collection of 'villas' centred around a grassed area, basketball court and pool. It is very well maintained and attractive. Our room was clean and any minor maintenance issues were dealt with in a quick and friendly manner. The free breakfast was one of the best we have had. On three evenings free drinks and food was laid on. The BBQ on one of the nights was fantastic. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and incredibly helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Towneplace Suites- you could learn a lot from your sister brand.

Spent two nights in a two bedroom suite at this convenient to the airport location. Front desk personnel were experienced, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was very good with many choices and well stocked. Two problems for light sleepers were noted. First was the flight operations at the nearby airport. The hotel seemed to be located at the end of the take-off runway so engine noise was quite loud. Secondly, our room this older hotel had wooden floors that squeaked loudly to the point where it would wake you up if someone used the bathroom in the middle of the night. Grounds were well groomed and litter free.

We've stayed at tons of Marriott properties over the years. This was typical Residence. It felt like your own little condo. Nice property, nice pool, nice staff. We were only there for one night but I can see how corporate renters would enjoy it longer term. Hotel amenities without the impersonal hotel feel. Also pretty damn quiet for being next door to the airport!

We only stayed overnight but it was very nice. Our plane landed (as scheduled) at 1am and we were at the hotel just a few minutes later. Night desk person was very nice and got us checked in quickly. Room was very large and breakfast was excellent and everything was kept stocked and ready on the buffet. They had both yolk and no yolk scrambled eggs.

Wow! I stayed one night at this Residence Inn. My room was basically like a mini apartment! Very comfortable. Living room space, kitchen, desk, tv (which swiveled between the couch and the bed), and bathroom. Great little fitness room to work out in! One of the best things about this place is the breakfast that is included!! It is beautifully displayed with something for everyone. Waffles, granola/cereal, yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, tortilla shells if you want to make a burrito complete with salsa, cheddar and spinach to stuff in, turkey and pork sausage, bagels, english muffins,, juice, tea (complete with fresh lemon wedges to squeeze in if you'd like). It was just all beautifully displayed. Fast, reliable wifi. Great parking. Free cookies at check-in. What more could you want???
