Very nice clean place and conveniently located. Staff very friendly. I have been here a couple of times and it has always been a great experience

Very comfortable rooms and amenities. Pool a plus.

Well everything was ok. Pool was fine. only had a problem with room key. Almost every day had to get key to work. Going to customer service was a pain especially when your tired.

We enjoyed our stay, they were very accommodating and got us adjoining rooms with our daughter and grandchildren. For the price, a great deal.

It was a nice hotel but when I got into the room the toilet was dirty called office and the sent someone up there immediately to clean it the rest of the room was neat and clean also the heater was not working well. But overall it was a nice room and the staff was very attentive

The hotel was in a state of disarray, and some serious shotty workmanship..... The staff was friendly enough, I never wake up in time for a continental breakfast. I've stayed In much worse hotels, but never a worse hojos

Decent hotel for the price. Very good free breakfast for a budget hotel

Disappointed about bathroom and towel cleaniness. Toilet and floor were dirty. Smell only went away after I threw boiled water on it. We found female underwear under the bed.

undergoing renovations. First room had old stained sofa. Second room was better. Pillows way too small and soft.

While the hotel itself is very dated, it was clean and comfortable. Thank you!

Excellent large room for price. Housekeeping never disturbed me always provided towels and coffee. Staff was very helpful. Easy to find and a lot of reassurance and shopping close by.

I traveled to Albany, New York for one night to deal with some legal matters. I stayed at HoJo near SUNY Albany. I was very disappointed with the accommodations. The room was grimy, smelled bad, and was full of dirt. The fitness center was a wreck and the pool close early. If you make it to Albany, I recommend staying somewhere else.

We weren't expecting 5-stars for the money. This property is tired and showing it's age. If you're hungry in the morning, pass on the complimentary breakfast, unless you like cold sausage links and cereal. The positives: the front-desk was friendly, and the bed was pretty comfortable.

This hotel was really not too bad for the price. Location was great for our purpose!

We needed a hotel room, night of, to stay at for our cross country roadttip, and this one did just that without much hassle at all!

Hotel not as in picture...the restauarant was closed & repairs being done thru out the hotel.

I have been coming to Albany every month this year, and stayed in the Howard Johnson all but one of those times. When it occured to me to try and shop around, I stayed someplace else in April, but the fact that I stayed at the HoJo again should say something. For what you pay, this is a great hotel, with staff committed to customer service and who can give accurate directions.

I come into Albany regularly, and after trying out most of the cheap hotels on Central and Wolf, I've pretty much committed myself to staying at the HoJo. They have good wifi, a good selecting of TV stations, perfectly fine rooms, and a very good contimental breakfast that isn't set up in the front lobby, so I can enjoy it in my pajamas without having someone looking over my shoulder the whole time. Housekeeping had the uncommon sense to leave the heat on and the TV on while I was gone for the day- I HATE walking into an icy room in the winter.

I come into Albany regularly, and I've learned that it's usually worth it to pay an extra $5/night and stay in the HoJo than to try to cheap out and not have wifi, or breakfast, or a thermostat, or a host of other adventures. This HoJo is great- I stay there regularly. But this time, I was really touched because I left my laptop charger in the room and the staff mailed it back to me. I had to call them, and set up a shipping and payment plan, but they did it, which saved me a bundle of money and really impressed the heck out of me.

I come into Albany regularly, doing business near the capitol, but not having money to stay anywhere near there. So I've stayed all up and down Wolf Rd. and the part of Central Ave. that's near Wolf. You can find hotels that are $10/night cheaper, but they don't have reliable wi-fi, a continental breakfast, a coffee maker or HBO. The Wolf Rd./Central Ave area contains a mall, and almost every franchise known to mankind, so what ever it is you're craving or forgot, it's close by when you stay here. And you can get onto the highway or Wolf Rd. without making a left turn onto Central- you can feel yourself age as you wait to make a left turn onto Central.
