There was nothing special about the Lakua but it was an easy place to stay that ticked lots of boxes. Easy parking. Easy access. There was a card school in the bar when we went for dinner - 50+ people. But the restaurant was just fine and service up to the mark. We breakfasted early as we used the Lakua as a transit hotel. Decent choice.Just a bit nondescript. Oh and the price - that was very easy!
Good hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful Don’t think it’s a 5 star hotel. Very clean and upto date. Let down by price on snack food pizza 16 Euro’s for a bad pizza. Didn’t use the restaurant as there is a few places near by to eat.
Having stayed with this chain in San Sebastien and Bilbao I was really pleased with the hotel, good sized rooms and beds, helpful staff and a short walk from the town. The bar was quite expensive but there were plenty more atmospheric and fun places five minutes away. We were here as part of a wedding party and we got a great rate looking at the quoted prices on TA. Lovely little city with many great places to eat and drink, do go in to the old town for a late night drink!
Fantastic hotel with an even better restaurant... There with 40 x person cycling team during the June heatwave. The hotel did have problems with the aircon the night of our stay and the rooms were very hot and sticky. So to the restaurant during our fantastic Basque meal but it was so good we didn't care too much. The hotel is a bit far out for a stroll into town but there is a great bar across the road. New building on the very outskirts of town. Very well equip, staff first class for what we paid... Marked down sleep quality only because the aircon was broken
This was a nice hotel, but it was kind of far from the city center for Vitoria-Gasteiz. However, pretty much every taxi driver knew where the hotel was once you mentioned Hotel Lakua. The rooms were good/standard and the staff was nice. I only had breakfast once in the restaurant, but did visit the cafeteria a few times and to get bottled water. I used laundry services and that was great as well. Nice hotel & friendly staff!
The hotel offers not only quality but also very high value for money. It is located outside Vitoria, excellent location for business and when travelling and needing a stop over. Downtown Vitoria is however close by. The hotel is relatively new so everything looks nice and clean. The hall is huge and open without the excessive decorations of multi star hotels. The room was very large with an impressive bed of top quality. The room is well fuRnished and lit. There is plenty of storage possibilities and a good safe. There is a good flat TV and a minibar. Internet was available both hard wired and wireless, fee of charge and with good speed. The bathroom was large and well fitted with appliances, toiletries and accessories. Breakfast buffet was good though we did not ask for warm dishes. Orange juice could be pressed on the spot from real oranges. We had dinner in the restaurant and the "bacalao" (cod fish) and kokoxas (hake) were superb. Good choice of wine. We used the parking which was very convenient. Staff was very kind and competent. Ratio quality / price was excellent. Highly recommended
American style hotel on the outskirt of the city, Nice and clean rooms, perfect bad room, very good standard. I would never give it a 5 star rating, but some people have a lot of imagination. The hotel looked empty, friendly staff but only basic services. Poor parking and far away from city center. As far I'm concerned it´s a overpriced business hotel. Wifi is o.k., but television channels are very poor, limited to Spanish and news channels. Mini bar very few choices of drinks. I guess we had a tourist bus staying at the hotel because as from 6 am there was a lot of noise and people screaming in the corridors.
Nice hotel out of centrum without big traffic on road. The rooms are enough big with very nice a huge bathroom. Restaurant clean, good european breakfast, fresh orange juice. The staff smile and helpful. Good quality. Price in normal season are normal as for 5 stars hotel.
When I checked in the manager said the hotel was full but I hardly saw anyone. It is out of town so I ate in the restaurant which opened at 20:30. I was the only diner and it was made worse by the piped music. The food was a bit plain and I would avoid the restaurant. Breakfast was a much more interesting meal. The room was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful even though few spoke English. Stay here if you want quick access to the motorway
Indeed, as others have pointed out, this is simply not a five star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. While it is obvious the intent was to build it as a modern five star facility, it is neither operated or maintained as such. One only has to look down at the lobby roof from upper rooms to see that nothing has been done to preserve the infrastructure of the facility and this philosophy shows throughout the building. The location at the edge of town is probably well suited to business travelers but anyone wanting quick access to tourist sights, restaurants, or shopping will be terribly disappointed. In the midst of a high rise apartment area, parking is horrendous, no valet service is available, and the underground lot is suitable only for mini-cars. During the entire stay we never observed more than one staff member on duty in the lobby area, and while courteous, they were not what I would deem friendly and were too rushed to be able to provide anything but basic service. The room itself was clean, modern, and comfortable, with all typical amenities. It was also incredibly sterile, devoid of any charm or ambiance. The room, at least, was very quiet and the bed quite comfy. WiFi was solid throughout the building. The number of items available at breakfast was wonderful to behold, including both lactose and gluten-free items. The service, on the other hand, was almost non-existent and one had to get up and go find a waiter in order to get or refill coffee. Given the price paid, I would say this was not a good value for money and there are certainly better places to be had in a more central location and appear that they might have been better choices. To sum up, our stay here was adequate and generally without issues, but also entirely unmemorable.
