Yes it is an old hotel, but still Al Khzama has its own charm. Dining at the restaurant, an open buffet, is a good place to do business deals, and have a good meal. The meal is a variety of soup, starters, main dish and a deserts. It is not usually crowded, but you can have a good business lunch, and still enjoy the food.
My review could be a bit old but doesn't mean to ignore negative experience that i was been received by hotel crew. The story took place in winter of 2010 when one of my best coworker as me for favor that he would have his wedding ceremony in riyadh a foreign city for him due to his life was spent entirely in dammam, and want a lift hand for him as they say in domestic language, thus put burden over my shoulders to help him out, part one of the story started when I managed to find a good rate on analog website as this and went to check everything in advance to arrange his night fully from a to z but unexpected the heritage and ethnicity amazing me to WOW degree and when I finish everything and inform all the employees about my plan and during the wedding i sneaked out to ensure every detail is in order but unfortunately my arrival awakened me from blinding spot that the air conditioner was broken as well as the bathtub, but batman oh sry i get indulged into the events i meant night manager when her heard from my the story of my foreigner immediately replaced me to junior suite and welcome drink.
The Hotel remains at a good standard with very good service. There are many, many new Hotels in Riyadh and the al Khozama is old fashioned in a lot of ways. A few areas need a refresh but the rooms are comfortable, the food good and location remains excellent, even though the never ending metro works are right outside.
Didn't stay at the hotel but made use of the barber shop, lobby and garden BBQ. Mohamed from the barber shop most properly gave me my best haircut that I've had in Riyadh. Professional, friendly and seems to really take pride in his job focusing on a lot of finer details and touches. Will definitely recommend and come back to him! Had a coffee in the lobby after my haircut while waiting for the BBQ to open and it was really a nice and relaxing experience with friendly staff and it really feels like you've been there for a while, genuine smiles and service. BBQ setting is nice and cool, relaxed atmosphere with a good selection of foods and again very friendly staff. Ate here before and will definitely be back here again. Thanks again to the team at Al Khozama!
I love this hotel for it's location and humble (old is gold) perfect food especially room service and the breakfast buffet. You know there's a good management team behind this and front desk very nice and friendly any staff will be very happy to assist you and give you information especially if your not familiar with the city.
The location is perfect - centre of the city. But the hotel should be refurnished, the rooms are a bit out of fashion. But are clean and the service is very good. Very poor Internet connection - extremely slow. If you need a faster connection you must pay 100 SAR - this is unacceptable.
Comfortable, clean has everything you need. Breakfast has a nice buffet. A bbq at night in the garden. very pleasant atmosphere. Staff friendly and coutreous. Hotel is in a great location. you can walk across to the Faysaliya Mall. definitely one of the best hotels in Riyadh. has a carpark also and wifi. will definitely stay here again.
Good points, all the staff bar those on reception who have trouble understanding the basics. Everyone else are very helpful and welcoming. It's cheap, well the roomies, the food on the other hand is out of this world expensive. And that is it. It's cheap because it needs a top to bottom refurb, paper thin walls and beds that are so old that they must have replaced the mattress with boards, I've never had to sleep on anything as bad, you may want to put a few blankets on the floor,it has a lot more give. Single beds (in these days?) are at an angle in the room and have a shelf behind where the headboard should be meaning that you cannot sit in bed. Shame
The hotel must be nearing its fourth decade of operation. I have recollections of staying there in the 80s. Previoously operated by Rosewood, it was once one of the preferred business hotels in Riyadh, ideally located in Olaya, and with an enviable reputation for service and hospitality. While the staff are still well-trained and service oriented, the state of the structure and condition of the rooms mean that even its 4 star evaluation is overgenerous. Noise in the corridors carries straight through the old-fashioned thin room doors, still opened by a key, so you can hear all who are catching the red-eye or checking in after midnight. The hygiene and cuisine are acceptable, but the public amenities are depressingly poor. Time to put the old lady to sleep, and rebuild on the site, which is definitely a prime location.
I first stayed at this hotel back in the eighties, which tells you the the hotel is old and many people might tell you so. However I think evaluation should be based on value for money and in this regard this hotel offers the following 1. Though old it has its own ambiance. 2. Business rooms are relatively well maintained offering ample space and v. good facilities 3. Very good service 4. Very good food 5. Excellent location All in all I would give this hotel a very good rating for its value for money you pay. Mostly people visit Riyadh for business not pleasure. Therefore if you don't need to impress your counter party by staying at say Four Seasons and you are cost conscious I would highly recommend this hotel.
