Miscommunication on child ages with travel websites lead to increase charges at check in and several hours of communication with hotel and orbitz during vacation time to resolve situation. Resort facility clean Bed size small and mattress hard , room dim not enough lighting

The grounds are beautifully kept. The staff was on top of our every need and always had a smile. I would recommend staying in the junior suite oceanfront deluxe area which is villa 82. Stay on the third floor for the best views of the infinity pool and ocean.

There were cochroaches in the room. No running water in the room momentarily. Reservations for good food. Buffet was mediocre. Restaurants did not enforce dress code for everyone. Turned away guests who did not have long pants but then would let people come in dressed in shorts a t shirt and flip flops. We did eat at two separate restaurants. The food and customer service at the table was great there (mediterraneo and cozumel). The exception to the rule for the buffet food was the made to order pasta and eggs. Servers would often ignore us. We have been to other resorts and this one has been the worst. Bartenders were great. Our room key messed up a few times and would not open the door and was not from us putting it next to something magnetic. Rooms were mediocre and views could have been better. We have a 10 year old so we could only go to a really small portion of the beach which was covered in seaweed. The rest of the beach was labeled for premier club members and adults only. Not the best resort for a family at all. All in all not impressed.

Place was clean and location was great w a beautiful private beach. Food was good. Front desk staff was rude and we were very disappointed our first day. Giovanni was unhelpful and had an attitude the whole time. they had only one other person to check in At the time but were rude to us and not able to acomodate. I’m in the hospitality business and that is not how you want to treat guests walking in. Everything else was ok.

The Bahia staff is AMAZING! They do their best to make sure you are enjoying your stay. The food is great and the nightly entertainment is fun and enjoyable. We will definitely go back next year!

the food, the good service and attention that people who works there give us.

This resort really puts attention to details. From the butler services available, Angelica helped us set up some anniversary dinners at the a la carte restaurants for three couples and also had our room doors with anniversary banners on it and champagne in the room. Everything in the mini bar was included and so was room service which was great for my daughter who sometimes got hungry before our reservations. The pool was also nice and big so you never felt crowded with other people and we always found some seating. Zumba in the ocean was amazing and also the bbq on the beach was a nice touch. This resort and it’s staff are amazing. We spent our last night and Mashua restaurant in the Coba resort and that food was delicious as well as the drinks. It really made our last night very special. The lady at the Amstar desk (I believe her name was Olisea? Sorry don’t remember the spelling) was super helpful and professional at booking our excursion and helping us with our transportation. I would definitely go back to this resort and to another Bahia Principe hotel.

Absolutely beautiful resort. Very clean and upscale environment. Huge property consisting of multiple resorts sprawling across expansive beachfront. Wonderful vacation.

Excellent buffett and all the a-la-carte restaurants, Rooms could use some updating, clean. We had issues with AC but it was fixed in 2 days thanks to Jose Canto help. Very nice staff.

This was our second visit after 11 years and this place just got better with the time. Hotel is clean to the perfection including beach and all facilities. Staff is a friendly and more than helpful. As far as food I would say perfect. We didn’t even use à la carte restaurants since buffet restaurant has more than enough choices. I would recommend checking internet before booking a excursions since agents in lobby will not offer some if you don’t ask. This is by far best Bahia resort I ever visited .

I have travelled extensively and this resort overall is nice but not a five star.... it needs upgrades to get a five star status, its currently a four....

hotel room stinked and air conditioning was terrible, staff members where ruid specially people in the beach towel section and drinks where horrible

The hotel has what you would expect from most all inclusive resorts. The room was in the adults only section, which was quiet and the adult only pool was great. The grounds are immaculate with wildlife all over. We enjoyed all of the restaurants (reservation) and the buffets were super convenient. We would come back based off the hotel was just great. Negatives 1. Check-in felt like herding cats. We were originally given a 2 bed room, when I reserved a King. Our complaints got us the room we wanted and with a perk of being in the adults only area but our check-in person was irritated with us, handed us our room keys and map and we were left on our own to figure out where our room was and how to get there. We walked with luggage around in circles until we figured out to take the shuttle. 2. Check out, remember to take your towel cards back when checking out. We weren't aware due to the lack of info provided in during check-in. They will charge you $10 each for not returning the cards. I ran back to our room to get our towels to return them, and they were already cleaned up. This was a horrible process to be involved in, since the staff was more concerned about their towels than a positive check out experience. It felt like I was being hustled for $20 and the last ounce of money they could squeeze from my wallet.

The resort is absolutely beautiful! From the grounds to the beach to the rooms, everything was spotless. The food and the drinks were all really good. The staff was really friendly. There was always spots available at the beach. The water is always calm as they have a wall to block the waves from hitting the shore. Overall great experience!

I recommend staying at akumal in the gran Bahia principe because then you get access to all hotels in that resort....shows are fun infinity pool is the most beautiful...I definitely have a complaint about booking through orbitz...do everything you can direct because getting things to change get extremely tricky since it’s a third party

Don't be fooled if you think you are getting luxury hotel this place is a roach motel with a nice beach.. they don't have rooms that accommodates family of 4. After confronting I was told it's Orbitz fault for selling us this run down crappy hotel. Food was ok and I am don't even room to go there. Staff is accommodating only after they learned that I tip. Management helped was eager to please me quickly after they learned that I called orbitz demanding a hotel change. They got rid that 2inch padding from 1970s and quickly got me brand new matress. Still my kids had to sleep on this man made table/bed with padding. Their main audience is the non US costumers that comes from Central America and many Slovak 3rd world countries. This explained the higher rating they got which fooled me into purchasing this package. They have great beach with tropical fish only thing that kept my sanity. I tried making the best of it since they have really good shows much credit for the shows it's typical Cancun shows but much effort was put into it so you are engaged

This place has everything for everyone. A variety of meal choices. Beach is a few steps away, & there are swimming pools. We had access to all resorts except adults because we have a little one. Great service, mini bar was good. Shows were for all. Transportation for everyone. Restaurants accommodate large groups.
