The modern hotel in Agia Anna is like a space ship landed in middle of nowhere. The clientlee consists of families with children and the swimming pool is in good use. Food is mainly buffet although ala carte is available. Service is OK, our room was Thalatta suite with private pool. As 2 adults its the only way to survive, thanks for the upgrade. The hotel is ok but in a wrong place.
Absolutely stunning hotel; the staff were increidble, local restaurants were ridiculously cheap and all staff super friendly, good times ! Could not speak highly enough of the experience, stunning views, incredibly clean hotel. THE one criticism I would say would be do not stay on the ground floor as it was a little noisy in the mornings - but that's more personal preference than anything!
A gorgeous and modern hotel with great food and activities to keep both parents and children happy. Spent plenty of quality time with the family but also loved the yoga class given by Nontas while our young ones were happily entertained at the magic forest. Really impressed by the politeness and high service level of the staff. We stayed here because several friends recommended this place and we are definitely coming back.
This was a perfect Holiday! I'm in a wheelchair and it was very good adapted. And the yoga-teacher Nondas was great. He helped me all the time. The personnel was so friendly. The children (3&6) were extremely happy. It was top !!!
I was doing yoga everyday. The yoga instructor (Nontas) was very friendly and very helpful during our family visit. Training body and mind is a massive aspect of our life. Nontas added another layer of that training that will be unforgettable. Many thanks Eni
One of the best hotels in a very nice seaside place near forest. The place is very calm and quite. The hotel is unique. The building is modern, the rooms big, clean (twice per day) and comfortable and the most of them with sea view. We got a junior suite for 4 persons. The service is one of the best l have ever seen. The staff is always there to help you with a warm smile. Helpful and professional. They offered us long stay for the last day, no request by us. The 3 restaurants and the breakfast serviced at high level in very nice and atmospheric places. Also they offer many services price included like yoga & pilates lessons. Regarding the kids, you forget them from 10:00-23:00 every day with full program (games, movies, food, etc) also included in the price. For sure we'll go again and soon.
To start with - this is a great hotel! Everything is to the highest standards, the place is clean and very well kept. The location is perfect, smack on the beach n somewhat isolated. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. But, in our case we expected more... We came in with 70 guests (!!!) for our wedding. we literally booked the entire place for 3 days! Before we came in the hotel was almost empty... yet they didn't agree to "cut us any slack" when it came to small things such as - not charging our guests for Nesptesso capsules, or making slight differences in the menu... But as I said, overall it's a very good hotel.
First time at Thalatta Seaside Hotel. The hotel and especially the people including the service was amazing. We had a great time. Special thanks to Nontas, the Yoga teacher. He is a wonderful guy. Very talented, professional and dedicated as a teacher and a very warm person as well. We enjoyed all the different classes and had nice talks. Even a privat lesson was not to much to ask. Thanks Nontas! Definitaly a place to come back to!
I agree with the other reviewers who have said "mixed experience" and that this is not a place for couples wanting a quiet break. Pros 1. Staff - some are very good. Sandi in the kids club was amazing with our daughter enabling us to have time alone and dinners as a couple each night as she watched a movie with our daughter. The gentleman who transferred us was also lovely and patient with our children. The manager of the bar area and front of house is lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her and she always smiled. The pool staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble. 2. Rooms were clean and large (we had family suite) and although not "plush" they were ok overall. I'd mention however our kitchen - nice but totally unusable without any pans, crockery or equipment in it. 3. Food - was very good, fresh and healthy and plenty of it. Well priced and good value for hotel food. 4. SPA is ok and well-priced. CONS 1. The transfer by road from Athens is a LONG way with 2 small children. Its 2 1/2 hours (at least) but an hour and a half of this is up and down narrow mountain roads. After a 4 hour flight from the UK the car journey will test your marriage and love for your kids. 2. On arrival at 11.00pm local time after a day of travelling and wanting to put children to bed (one asleep in my arms) there was no kids bed set up and no travel cot despite me requesting it beforehand. Very stressful conversations with housekeeping around this and no apology from the hotel the next day. Probably worst arrival experience I've ever had. 3. We travelled in May, it rained 6 out of 7 days and some days the storm was for hours on end meaning there is nothing to do. Not the fault of the hotel but worth bearing in mind if travelling in May or out of the summer months. 4. Very remote area. There are activities if the weather is fine but you're pretty much confined to barracks if you have a baby and a small child (and if its stormy you're in lock down). 5. Only 1 restaurant open so we had 21 meals in the same place - very boring after a while. Smokers allowed inside and so bar area very smoky. Not great for a place that has won a family award (you have to walk through the bar to get to the restaurant with your children). 6. Charges for nespresso capsules in the room and 2.5 euros for one tea bag is ridiculous. I asked for milk to make tea and was charged 8 euros for a v small jug - extortionate. There is a small shop a few hundred metres away but we didn't discover until the end of our stay. 7. Housekeeping is very hit and miss. Some days we had it, some days it was done at 7pm at night, others not at all and I had to ask. Half way through our stay water appeared by our beds one night meaning there was a turndown service (great but what about the other 4 nights ?). The lovely lady who helped me sort it out was helpful but it wasn't without asking. I did however get complimentary tea and coffee (paid for the 8 euro cup of milk). 8. Pool isn't heated and out of season it's too cold for most. I couldn't get in and our baby screamed if he had his legs in the water. Sea too cold and rough to swim in also. It's hard to write a negative review because some staff were lovely to us but the niggles of bad housekeeping, terrible experience on arrival, silly charges for tea and coffee left a sour taste. We were also very unlucky with hours and hours of rainfall per day. We actually tried to leave early but couldn't make it work. Some reviewers have mentioned George the manager - if that's the "too cool for school" looking gentleman dressed head to toe in white wearing sunglasses most of the time day or night and smoking at the end of the bar - hello George. Shame you didn't speak to us all week or ask us how our stay was so some of this could have been rectified. You have some stars in your team but overall attention to the small details of a stay is lacking. The feedback form handed out at the end at check out is entirely self-indulgent by the hotel (why not sort problems out before a guest leaves?) and its a shame niggles couldn't be cared for as they cropped up or avoided altogether. No we wouldn't return and no we wouldn't recommend the hotel to a friend. Sorry. Final moan - everything you order not in your meal plan is presented to you on a bill as you go along rather than getting one bill at the end. So order a drink and a sheet is left on your table, order a drink - new sheet discreetly left, order a meal, new sheet, order a coffee, new slip of paper and so on and so on. Whilst you can sign once at the end we found this incredibly annoying that we were expected to sign each time but why not do what every other normal place does and run a tab that is SETTLED AT THE END. It's annoying to be constantly reminded by staff that everything is being counted and paid for and intrusive to have the bill stuffed under your nose every time you order something else.
The short version is - a nice resort - but ONLY for kids age 5 or below. No behavior - no restrictions by the hotel management. (Most of the parents badly need restrictions of the management to realize that the place is not entirely theirs) This hotel prefers families with little kids which is ok - but should be communicated as such. I was looking for a relaxing vacation which was "promised" in their website. GREATLY disappointed. Am I coming back? NO! Generally a good place but I am over the point of having to cope everywhere (restaurant, bar, pool, beach, room) with the nice and less nice things of having babies. During our stay, there was an event of the "HIPP" Baby Food Company which explains where the focus of this place is. Most definitely - it is NOT a RESORT it is a family place with LITTLE children. Employees are extremely friendly - but need LOTS of training to be considered 4 star. If you look for a place to stay with your newly bornes - this is it. If you want some rest - avoid it. I also would recommend the management to take better care of the environment outside the immediate area of the hotel. It is dirty and anything but nice. It's a pity since the overall area would be a jewel. Tip to the hotel management - make it either a family hotel or get the noise and little kid behavior under control - remember - it's not all that cheap overall and some people expect a little more.
