Kilmarnock Arms Hotel

The hotel staff is lovely - helpful, kind and very friendly. However, if you're staying at the hotel DO NOT stay in Room #1. It is located over the kitchen so you'll smell exhaust from the kitchen the entire time (fried food smell) and it's super hot. There is a fan in the room but there is absolutely no air circulation but for the fan. We opened the window but given the room is an interior room and the kitchen is venting into that space it does nothing except to let in hot and smelly air. We asked for a room change but the hotel is full and most of the guests are staying for more than one night...we are not. However, hotel is charming, room is very clean and staff is very nice. We'd come again but would be very particular about our room.

I've been meaning to do this since my last visit but after another very good meal and service tonight they deserve a very positive review. The food selection and quality here is excellent and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Really good location for the nearby world famous golf course too

We enjoyed a delightful meal. Very good gluten free option-no fuss! Generous portions. Very good friendly service. Will return! Local haddock was delicious burger and chips excellent. Verge panini went down very well. Gluten free batter on fish great per my daughter!

Had a group of 16 discerning gents playing golf at Cruden Bay, and through our local friend Ru, arranged a fantastic "surf and turf" dinner in The Kilmarnock Arms. Everyone commented it was "the best dinner on our trip"! Fantastic beef and locally sourced Cruden Bay lobster ... the sides were perfect and desert wonderful. Overall just fab! Just as important, the service was over the top and outstanding! I can't wait to return to Cruden Bay!

I would thoroughly recommend the Kilmarnock arms hotel for food. We had a family bar just in the lounge bar and it was truly amazing. Looking for somewhere to going head to Cruden Bay. They do bar suppers to fancy food in their restaurant for that special occasion. The food was second to none and just delicious. I can't recommend enough. Situated in the lovely cruden bay

Have eaten here on two occasions now, once in the lounge bar and our latest visit was in the restaurant. I think this hotel has three stars, but in my opinion the food is so much better than three star. On my first visit had the fish and chips, absolutely delicious, fresh moist fish with all the trimmings. Had the surf and turf last week lobster and steak and this was also delicious. The restaurant and probably the hotel is busy in fact we could not dine there in the Friday as they had a few large tables in but we went on the Saturday evening. I can only say go if you get the chance you will not be disasapointed, the other bonus is all the staff are also lovely. Keep doing what you are doing would be my advice a great find. I am not sure who the head chef is but I would hold onto whoever it may be !!

Visiting with a group of 12 on a golf trip to north Scotland, stayed in this small town hotel while playing some terrific local courses. The rooms have been renovated with ensuites, there is a very pleasant sitting area with a log fire and live music and a real home country vibe on Friday nights. Breakfasts and meals in the restaurant were excellent (the rabbit especially recommended). But what made this place special was the personal touch of the staff, who were very attentive. Laundry was no problem, all delivered back the same day, bookings for local restaurants were quickly organised and there seemed genuine interest in us as visitors. They donated a "Kilmarnock Arms Medal" to the winner of the golf days on the local courses, which added to the very positive time our group experienced. We look forward to a return trip.

We had been recommended this place as a great place to eat as my daughter is a Coeliac (strictly gluten free) and it did not disappoint. We had a lovely family meal and the choice on the menu for both muggles and coeliacs was brilliant. The staff were lovely and attentive and when a slight whoops happened with my daughters coeliac option it was dealt with so fast she had not put a mouthful in and it was the staff that noticed the problem. Top marks for being so knowledgeable and knowing and understanding what it means to us to be able to eat and feel safe. Thank you

I had an amazing experience at the Kilmarnock Arms!! The hotel itself is beautiful and located just a few minutes from a gorgeous beach. There is also a great short walk up to Slain's Castle. The hotel is cosy and yet spacious, it features a beautiful lounge bar with an impressive whisky collection, which is where I spent most of my time. The staff are all incredibly friendly and will do anything to help. Within a day I was on first name basis with many of the staff who were all very helpful. My room was incredibly comfortable with plenty of space for all my luggage, there's a TV in the room and wifi which is always a bonus. The chefs do an amazing job as well, I ate at the hotel every night and the food was always incredible. The service alongside the food was also perfect every time. I honestly can't stress enough how much I enjoyed my time at the Killie and can't wait to go back there!!

Along with 3 friends I stayed in Kilmarnock Arms for 2 nights earlier this week. Our rooms were great and the food in the restaurant was exceptional. The menu was just terrific for dinner and breakfast and the food was first class. I have stayed in many very good hotels in different countries but I have never experienced more friendly service anywhere. The staff are wonderful and go way beyond what might be described as good.
