This is bit of the beaten track, but worth stopping if in the need for a bite to eat. I have no experience regarding the rooms, but have been here a few times to eat when in the area, Staff are pleasant, restaurant is fine but a bit bare and food and drinks are good "pub food" which is not putting it down, as this is not "fine dining". But tasty and good value. Drinks are sensibly priced with a decent gin selection if this is your bag.

The Kilmarnock Arms is a wonderful historic hotel in the beautiful surroundings of Cruden Bay. We stayed three nights with our two kids and it was comfortable, the food is amazing, breakfast outstanding and dinner menu really great. The fires were always well stocked and raging. The staff were considerate and accommodating of families, and the facilities are top notch. We would recommend to anybody- thanks Kilmarnock Arms for having us - see you again!

We’ve just returned home from a 4 night stay which was our second visit to this fabulous place. We were travelling with our toddler, another family and our 2 dogs. I can’t speak highly enough of this place. The hotel itself is very cosy and welcoming and the staff are extremely helpful. The food is fantastic with a menu to suit everyone, as is the range of drinks including an array of different gins. We love the area and there is plenty to do for all the family in the great outdoors. We are all missing our daily walks on Cruden Bay beach and are already planning our next trip.

First visit to this lovely town. Absolutely cracking hotel. Old, rustic, picturesque and very well maintained establishment. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very clean, warm and pretty large. The food is fantastic! Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay here again when back in this area. First class!

Stayed one Night on the way up to the Shetlands Has on a previous visit it did not disappoint Requested one of the garden rooms which we had previously and was so mply lovely has was everything else the food the staff and not to forget the Beautiful Bay and Beach Hotel situated on the road but do not be put off We will be revisiting

We went there with a couple of friends and we had three courses. Could not fault in anyway. Starter, main and dessert were fantastic. The atmosphere was very good, service also very good and the food was top notch. We have been twice and both times were perfect. If you go and don’t enjoy, I would be very surprised.

We were fortunate enough to secure a garden room for two nights over Hogmanay this year. All of the staff were excellent from the start of our stay until the end. Nothing was too much trouble and we had great service in both the lounge bar and the restaurant. All of our meals were very high quality and excellent value for money. The owner noticed a slight discrepancy with our bill and literally came after us to rectify their error. If you have a dog you'll be very welcome and will be treated to a garden room with any luck - these are huge rooms with enclosed outside space for the dog, large wetrooms and underfloor heating, perfect! We're planning our return trip already, best wishes to all of the Kilmarnock Arms team for the new year.

Great location only 5 minute walk to the beach, staff very helpful and friendly, Cosy lounge bar with very good food.i would recommend this hotel as a very good base if your traveling around this area.

Our group played golf at Cruden Bay and the Kilmarnock Arms appeared to be the best place to stay. What a fabulous place! The staff was beyond welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious--both dinner and breakfast. The roaring fire in the reception area takes the chill off the day and offered a special place to try a few whiskeys from an EXTENSIVE list. The room was clean, warm and offered modern bathroom amenities.

Inside the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel you'll find two restaurants.... we had dinner in the Bistro (not the pub). Our food was outstanding. Both had soups, each delicious and piping hot. Braised beef short rib for our main was superb, and a generous portion as well. Cheese plate for dessert (all locally sourced) with a ruby port to top it off. We highly appreciated the staff's very considerate care concerning my wife's shellfish allergy. We'll be back!
