Nice clean rooms. Twin bed in Europe is large than a U.S. twin! Very comfy beds! All staff were so helpful and eager to please. The Executive Lounge with its perks was fabulous.

Dusseldorf hotels were all booked so had to stay in Cologne. The Mondial is a 5 minute walk to the train station. The train to Dusseldorf main station (Hbf) is only 30 min. Room was small but tidy. Walpaper and carpet are in need of replacement. Breakfast was superb, but at 25e it was expensive, ...

It was a very pleasant experience and we enjoyed every minute. Do not open the windows at night.... we did and got some visitors...three bats flying around until we turned all lights off...this was part of the excitement...

Of course, price increase compared to off peak is kind of gouging, and they do not even increase the staff for room service. That leads to unbearable waits to get breakfast or anything else delivered to the room.
