Best time to take a vacation to Iowa

  • Iowa has four distinct seasons, and weather conditions can change rapidly from month to month. Winters on the open plains are cold and windy, with temperatures frequently reaching below 30F. When you book flights to Iowa destinations on in the winter, leave plenty of time to get to the airport to account for sudden snowstorms or high-wind conditions. If you're traveling in the summer, expect temperatures to reach above 90F on a regular basis. The most comfortable time to visit Iowa is the late spring or early fall when the temperatures are comfortable.
