Experience Your Best Peru Vacation
The next time you're planning a vacation abroad, consider a visit to Peru. While known around the world for the ancient Incan city, Machu Picchu, the area also offers pristine beaches, mountains to climb, hiking trails, and so much more.
Whether you're adventurous or more low-key, Peru has something to offer. Sightseeing doesn't get any better than it does off the bluffs of Miraflores. The bluffs are located outside the city of Lima and are great vantage points for stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Lima itself is a city rich in history and is a terrific example of the Peruvian culture. Orbitz.com can help you book the perfect hotel for your vacation needs.
Peru's location south of the equator means that winter falls from June to September, and summer is from December to April. Peru experiences a dry season and a wet season, and you'll want to plan your vacation with that in mind. The driest months are December through April, where temperatures reach the mid-90s during the day. This is the peak travel season for the area, so you'll want to book your reservations well in advance. A notable climate exception is the Amazon jungle, where the daily climate is hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 86°F to 100°F, with significant rainfall year-round. Whenever you decide to visit Peru, it's always a good idea to start with Orbitz.com.
Tribal Lounge and Bar
If you've never visited Peru before, a good place to start is the Tribal Lounge and Bar. The restaurant is English speaking and a good place to meet up with fellow travelers.
Located on the beach at Paracas, Peru Kite offers a unique kite-surfing experience for novice and advanced surfers alike.
Magic Water Circuit
The Magic Water Circuit in downtown Lima is one of the most visited attractions in the city. Families with children will enjoy the 13 fountains that combine music with lights and water movement.
Sandboarding in Huacachina
Experience an exhilarating board run down one of the towering sand dunes located in Huacachina. High-speed dune buggy rides are also available.
Barranco and the Bridge of Sighs
Often overlooked, the Barranco district, outside of Lima, offers a laid-back vibe. Check out one of the many Latin, Creole, or Rock concerts at a local bar, or stroll across the Bridge of Sighs to make a wish while holding your breath.
